Unguentum

The most expensive perfume of ancient Rome was probably the "Regale Unguentum". An anecdote about the Emperor Tiberius makes us assume this. In fact, we know from historical sources that one day in the Senato he took the floor to complain about the enormous expense that Rome incurred for these aromatic and exotic substances, around 100 million sesterces. And this fragrance wants to reproduce the Unguentum: therefore we have strong notes, which create a very particular, green and pungent aroma at the opening and then dominated by a well-balanced accord of saffron, tobacco and honey. The opulence is felt, I think it is more suitable for the winter season, I find it really pleasant, with a strong personality, which must be liked. And I like it. Best smelling fragrance I've ever smelled. Definitely in the top 2 up there with SB extreme. It has such a warm smell that feels like home. Still haven't seen a single person dislike it so I don't know about the reviews. Maybe different batches?? It lasts 6-8hrs (arms range to intimite amount of sillage). The price of it is fairly high but that didn't stop me once I smelt it.

There is a lot going on in Unguentum. It gives the perfume some complexity and uniqueness, but on the other hand to me this is just a plain mess of things that don't go well together, in my opinion. A certain touch in this make me nauseous. Calamus, artemisia?.. It smells quite sweet and doesn't project much.
