Il Bianco e Nero

I discovered Opificio del Cavaliere several years ago, visiting Bolgheri (province of Livorno, Tuscany,Italy), where they have an extremely elegant store. The bottles are designed with two types of caps, one simple and the other decorative, made of porcelain. The ceramic caps represent different stories, are decorated with real gold and are made in the artisan district of Montelupo Fiorentino. Here is the translation of the motto of this perfume, taken from the official website: ''When masks fall, what remains is fragile, destined only for those who know how to keep secrets. Do you think my black and white is so complicated? To be honest, I initially liked Tuba, but in the end I decided to get this one because of an olfactory memory that could very well be wrong, of course, so don't take my word for it, because between black and white for me there are also many shades of gray...😆 It clicked with me about two years after I managed to smell Melt My Heart (let me sigh) and even though the two are not similar, Il Bianco e Nero gives me a somewhat similar vibe. And if in Melt My Heart there is an oud with chocolate, in this one I felt like I found the same kind of oud, but with propolis (elemi + cloves + rose create this effect). I can see some similarity in the drydown to Black Afgano, only here we have a much smoother and more unisex version. It's a spicy, slightly smoky, very persistent perfume, with a medium to low aftertaste, with a slightly medicinal impression; I perceive it almost as a kind of panacea for all the sweets around, but especially for my heartache caused by abstinence from chocolate... ...Or from those chocolate perfumes that I can't bear to spend so much money on for now...😅
