Amber Rouge

I just got this the other day after considering getting the original BR540 but was afraid to do so since there were rumours about reformulation, and quite frankly to me it smells very medicinal. I have the BR540 Extrait and I would say that Amber Rouge is somewhat in the middle in between these two, leaning more towards the OG. The reviews here were right too, Amber Rouge isn't as medicinal, perhaps a bit in the opening for a couple of minutes, but otherwise it has all the goodness of BR540, with a little extra sweetness, thus giving it a bit of that Extrait vibe. I would honestly never consider getting the "real deal" in this case, when this is the exact same thing, but better. Personally, I do not agree that this is an Extrait dupe though, as some said. The original ExDP is deeper, more complex and a bit sweeter. It's very hard to describe, but the difference is there, so in that case I do think it's worth getting the original and getting to experience the wonderful journey it takes you on. However, this is an Amber Rouge review and with that being said, this perfume is absolutely stunning and so worth getting! I adore it! ***UPDATE: bought the og EDP*** I have to admit I ended up eating my own words. I purchased the original EDP and it is much better and much more potent than Amber Rouge. Surprisingly, the medicinal smell is minimal and I get more sweetness and burnt sugar now. The bottle I received was made in November 2022, perhaps something has changed, or it is just me, but I can't get enough of it! However, Amber Rouge still remains a great alternative and a good perfume :D

I have this perfume and I have to say, it smells exactly like MFK BR540 and the bottle it comes in is exquisite with red Swarovski crystals I assume that is on it and it's very hefty at 2.7 oz. Now, let me get to the longevity of the perfume. The only thing I can say to you that it only lasted 5 to 6 hours on my skin, until it became a skin scent. I only sprayed it on my hot points of my body. I haven't tested it on clothes, so maybe it will perform well with clothes. I've tested it after I took a shower, exfoliate, and moisturize my skin before bed. This was at around 10:38am.......FYI*** I work night shift in case you want to know why I went to bed within the morning hours.*** I woke up at around 4:30pm I didn't smell it anymore. I have asked my husband did he smell it? He said that it's quite faint but it's there. I'm honestly not disappointed in this wonderful dupe that I have found at a VERY reasonable price of $80.00. Seeing that the Baccarat Rouge 540 by Francis Kurkdjian is at a $300 to $600, I would have to pass on the original, seeing that there are dupes out here that will give the original Baccarat Rouge 540 a run for its monies due to their price........but what do I know, maybe there are people out there who can shell out that type of monies for the original and if so that is GREAT for them and I'm happy for them.......but for me, I'll stick with being cheap and trying the dupes which is Great to have and test out before you plan on buying the original version of MFK BR540.

I bought this a few months ago at the tail-end of the summer and was so confused when I first started to wear it because it had this super sweet smell to it that I'm not entirely into. I love sweet perfumes but in the heat this one was just not it for me. I stopped wearing it and tucked it away in storage for another month or so until it got cooler out and guys.... This perfume absolutely transformed for me as the temperature dropped outside. The way the wind carried it's scent would hypnotize me and anyone around me. It's sweet but fresh and airy. I've worn this to the golf club a few times and every single time someone would ask me what I was wearing because it smelled so good. Even when I'm casually out with my boyfriend, girls would ask me what I'm wearing. Someone even asked me to walk by them again so they could smell it lol. It lasts for HOURS and HOURS on me. Even after I would change clothes it would still linger in my hair and skin. Oh and yes, my boyfriend is absolutely in love with this perfume and loves when I wear it. I spent a weekend at his place, left my jacket in his truck and the next day he texted me, "You're haunting me. I can smell you in my bed sheets and I can smell you in my truck. I don't even want to wash my sheets but I will, and you're gonna have to come back and make them smell like you again." YES, IT IS A WINNER IN MY BOOKS AND I'M GONNA HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER BOTTLE!!!

Yes, this is an excellent dupe for BR540 & fragrance unto itself. I bought this because it was similar to BR540 & oh yes it's similar and so good. I got compliments on this as soon as I put it on. My husband loves it and I can see how men would like this. I've always preferred unisex scents best as I've just always gravitated to them. This is perfect in that regard. The saffron & ambergris are so good in this. It goes so well with the cold weather. Like others when I got it in the warmer months it smelled sweet. Now come the cold weather & this smells delicious. This last for hours and hours till the next day. I one the skin scent. The ambergris becomes a lovely saffron, jasmine, musk. The saffron stays all the way to the end. That amber saffron with the balsam, & the jasmine. It's just perfect. I'm very happy with this as I've smelled and wore BR540. I am with the people who say it's 95% similar. This is a compliment magnet and you can get it for a great price. I love the red glass I will buy a backup of this since BR540 is so $$. I'm seriously thrilled with this. Best dupe that I've found & I adore it on its own. This smells fantastic and I really love it.

Everyone is talking about Baccarat Rouge instead of talking about this perfume. This is a wearable cotton candy that has a tiny spiciness in it. I don't like extremely sweet perfumes but I do like this one. It doesn't have a huge sillage but people around you can smell you for sure. I get compliments when I have this one on me. It stays on my sweater for days and the next day after wearing it I could smell it on my hair. Perfect for fall and winter, it can be overly sweet in heat. Go for it and enjoy it. :) Update.. I traveled literally 24 hours - stopped at the Dubai airport (in the Heaven of Fragrances, where you can smell perfumes you can't find in stores), sprayed a lot of perfumes on my arms (of course) - and when my bestie hugged me after the long flight, she immediately asked what I was wearing. She thought it was baccarat. The point is that, in addition to the other perfumes that had been on me for a few hours, she could smell Amber Rouge. So Yeah, This Lady is pretty damn good. Since I posted this review I've used 3 bottle of this beauty (and already have my 4th one) also bought it for my two beasties as a gift, they love it too.

Great dupe for Baccarat Rouge! (90% similar) Let it macerate for 1-3 months because it is quite animalic in the beginning. It is just as strong in sillage and longevity as Baccarat Rouge, which is great. You can pick up the metallic notes towards the 7th-8th hour of wearing, which is cool. I get all day wear for this one. And it sticks to clothing... like weeks later you can still smell this bad boy. The small difference is in the quality of how the perfume plays in the air. Baccarat Rouge has an extra lightness in the way the sweetness plays in the air, showcasing that signature burnt sugar facet. Amber Rouge, though has that same sweet airy quality, does not have a burnt sugar facet. It just has a simple clean sugar facet and the airiness is a little bit heavier in comparison to Baccarat Rouge. It still smells great and can be layered with a wide variety of other perfume profiles. ... And in the case anyone tries to rob your house, you can throw this bottle at them. It's quite substantial. And affordable, so you can buy another one :D

Smells like BR540 without the dentist's office smell. It also smells like Sunset Riot by All Saints, but the lasting power of Sunset Riot is non-existent. I sold Sunset Riot because of the terrible lasting power and blind bought Amber Rouge to replace it. It smells exactly like Sunset Riot (which I did not expect), and it has better projection and lasting power. I love BR540 but I do not like the medicinal smell, so this is an amazing option for me, and I will be purchasing a back up bottle just in case it becomes hard to access in the future. The bottle is beautiful and the juice is perfection, to me. It is warm, fluffy, sweet, spicy, woody, SEXY, and delectable. It can be worn day or night and in all seasons, but mostly during late fall, winter, and early spring when the weather is cooler. The scent projects but it is not so cloying that it would be an issue to wear in warmer weather. It is unisex, but because the medicinal element is missing, a manly man may find this to be too feminine and may want to stick with BR540. I love it!

95% clone for MFK BR540 It’s fabulous, I love it. Amazing for the price. I find it stronger than BR540 (better longevity and sillage) and bonus, I don’t go noseblind to it. I get a strong metallic note at first blast, then a slightly odd spearmint note hangs around for about 15min...but then it’s perfection. I get multiple compliments whenever I wear this - everything from “You smell like a wet fairy forest” to “Did someone bake apple pie earlier?” I personally get the immediate fantasy memory of being a kid and staying in a cabin in a super arid coniferous forest. Sitting outside by a cliff in the early afternoon heat of the day, I’m eating purple cotton candy, and the ocean crashes way down below against the cliffside. Be warned, however! My mom loved it on me so much that she asked to try it and it smelled like a wet bandaid on her 🤢 Try it before you buy it (or be prepared to only spray your clothes). Scent 10/10 Longevity 10/10 (10+ hrs) Sillage 10/10 (6+ ft)

Ok so I had to see for myself if this is a dupe for BR 540 as so many claim. I have to say...I'm impressed. To me in the BR 540, I pick up sweet spun sugar, and wonderful fir note. Gives me the feeling of the most beautiful cabin vacation..but luxury. This one, it smells extremely close. On my cool/dry skin, I do get a minty toothpaste type of mint from the opening to about an hour when it settles down. It then jumps to the back where it sits for the remainder of wear. If I dig my nose deep into my wrists I can smell rubber bands, you know, the brown ones. I found it strong at first. It's funny, I never got the latex or dentist office scent on the OG, but I can smell it very clearly in this fragrance. 2 sprays is all you need. LASTING POWER 10/10 The bottle is beautiful. So I have MFK BR540 Extrait but have made a dent in it already and I really would prefer to use it for special occasions...I overspray and ideally need a good dupe so I can wear it daily. I saw a few Youtubers raving about how similar OAR is to the original BR540 (which I don't have). OAR is affordable so I thought I may as well purchase even if its not super similar, I adore the DNA. Well, I was not disappointed. I would say OAR is 99% the same DNA as BR540 Extrait maybe ever so slightly sweeter and not as heavy on the amber. A good mix of the OG & the Extrait, maybe? It is stunning, it is also BEAST mode. I sprayed my dressing gown and the next day got constant whiffs of it! As much as I LOVE my MFK BR540 Extrait, it's extremely expensive and I want to smell like it daily. This is the BEST dupe for BR540 I have tried so far. A super safe blind buy if you like BR540 DNA, and affordable! win win

I agree with the review below, this is a SPOT ON dupe for BR540 extrait. It’s so sweet, warm, delicious, and airy at the same time. Cotton candy spun sugar vibes 🍬🍬🍧 It lasts very well on my skin and clothes too. And I must say the bottle is STUNNING in person. Also, another Arab UAE based brand called ibraheem al Qurashi has a perfume called Balas rose. It’s not on fragrantica but it’s AMAZING and it’s sweeter than the original BR540 and the extrait. It has the same dna but with a delicious almond cake smell to it. It’s my favourite out of all of the BR540 scent profile perfumes, including the original! So delicious if you can find it then definitely try it.

I bought this as a recommended clone for BR540, and it is excellent! I am one of the unfortunate few who almost can't smell BR540...it is very elusive and the scent comes and goes...a bit of a tease for me. I own both versions of 540 and bought this to apply underneath them so I can enjoy the experience as much as those around me. I was very resistant to the BR540 hype train, but I have to say, there's just something about it that is undeniably good. And Amber Rouge has that same magic. I bought it blindly and have no regrets. The bottle is substantially heavy and definitely over-the-top ornate, but it's what's inside that matters.

Yay! A BR540-type fragrance that I can actually smell the whole time I’m wearing it! I’m late to the BR540 game, but have fallen for bothe the EDP and the Extrait. I couldn’t invest in more than travel bottles however, as I just go anosmic too quickly. Amber Rouge solves that problem for me. It doesn’t project as far and wide as BR540, it’s also slightly sweeter, and maybe a bit more salty metallic when nose is pressured to skin. The scent cloud around me stays more like the initial spray of BR540, which I love. So great affordable purchase. Over the top, super heavy, crazy bottle... but the scent is great. I’m a happy camper.

Blind buy of the century! I am IN LOVE with this fragrance. It smells like a refined cotton candy and it is a compliment getter. I have always wanted to love BR540 but I always got a soft hint of cotton candy behind a blast of cleaning products. THIS is what I wanted BR540 to be, it is stronger in scent, projects the right amount (people around you can smell you, but you aren't annoying people far away) and it has no disinfectant smell. It also wears a respectable 8+ hours. I'm buying this for all of my perfume loving friends for Christmas. It's a must have!

In my honest opinion Amber Rouge is the best dupe of BR540 Extrait! If you are like me and can’t make yourself pay the ridiculous amount of money for the MFK, but you absolutely love the scent profile, this is the best thing you can buy! It’s long lasting on me, comes in a very baroque type of bottle that weights five times the weight of BR540 Extrait bottle and costs a fifth of the price if not less! I am very pleased with this and no longer want to buy the Extrait. Safe blind buy if you know and love the scent profile! Guaranteed compliment getter.

In love! The ambery sweet woodiness of this fragrance is so beautiful. The saffron in the beginning gives it a soft spicy touch which stays with you for at least 3-4 hrs. It's definitely not too sweet to be cloying. Again my colleague who sits over 6ft sway from me smelled me as soon as I sat at my desk. Will edit later on the longevity as I have only been wearing this for about 4 hours at this point. Drydown: disappeared to barely a skin scent by hr 6-7..but i am not mad at it. Edit: Layer this with Oud for Greatness..thank me later!!!!

Finally a BR540 edp that I DO NOT go anosmic to!!! Including the original, which I own, all other clones are either too manly/wood forward (here's looking at you Armaf & AL Haramain), or they vanish immediately (Maison Alhambra and Franck something), or too sweet/heavy (Lattafa, Ana something). This one might not last a long time on my skin, but for the price I can bathe in it if I want to (which I do, I have the 150ml bottle). Save your coin with both BR540's as they've been reformulated and they don't last

The intricacy of the Orientica Amber Rouge bottle alone is worth the purchase, but the scent—the glorious concoction of a scent—tops it all off! Gorgeously blended. As someone mentioned below, there is a hint of mint upon first spray, but it quickly warms into something sweet and heady. I’d say this is a safe blind buy if you like AOR and other fragrances that bear the affinities of BR540. Occasion: cold & enchanting nights Sillage: Moderate Longevity: 10 hours 10/10

I am not someone who often thinks a dupe is an exact representation as the original. I think they often get close, but there is enough difference, especially in the dry down, that you can always tell. But this is pretty damn exact. There is legitimately no reason to spend the money on the OG when you have this as an option. I will say it did need to macerate for quite some time, but it has developed into a beast mode version of the original and I am super impressed.
