Rosé de Orientica

Gosh, a tad bit nervous to be the first one to talk about this beauty here! This is my very first Arab fragrance. One of those unexpected buys, which you end up buying just cause you came across it. I had been flirting with Arab fragrances for a while, but although I love woody scents, most of them cause me migraines. I had tried quite a few Arab fragrances on, but they had always hit my head like a hard rock. I had my eyes on Al Wataniah's Durrat Al Aroos, so I decided to make one last fragrance purchase in 2022. Went to the shop, and the lady tried to show me "better" Arab perfumes than Al Wataniah. She came to me with some Orientica Al Haramain bottles and I told her I had tried them only to get splitting headaches. That's when she said: we have another one from Orientica, but it's not so popular. And then she pulled out that gorgeous red jewellery box. It was love at first spray! People here have compared it to Mancera's Roses Vanille, which I don't know yet, but I imagine Mancera's fragrance to be sweet as it is an amber floral scent, with notes of vanilla and sugar, which are not present in Rosé de Orientica. Rosé de Orientica isn't sweet. It has a sweetness that comes from the amber, the flowers and the dry woods. It is a BLAST of velvety deep dark red roses, and a slight, but steady, green pungency coming from the pine needles and the dry woods (I am sure Oud is one of them). I'd say it's a Woody Amber Floral. Comes out with roses and maybe orange blossom? Musk for sure. The middle notes in this fragrance give it great sillage (over 8 hours on my skin): ambergris, and the PINE NEEDLES! My, oh my! These pine needles are something else, and give this fragrance an oomph! And of course, the slightly powdery base notes of amber, musk and woods make for a solid Arab fragrance foundation. I love it! It smells as rich and chic as the packaging and the bottle look. Elegant, empowering, genderless, and the best of all: no migraines for me. It projects for about an hour, solid, and then mellows down to an extremely elegant scent, which I keep getting whiffs of for 8 hours or longer, especially on clothes. Orientica gets an A+ from me on this one. I can't imagine a better, most perfect first Arab perfume for my collection.

Perfect ambery rose with depth if sweet candied roses are not your thing. However, I love a candied fluffy vanilla rose--so this one just isn't my thing. Box and bottle are super luxe.
