Royal Bleu

I found my signature scent. It's a beautiful scent inspired by Parfums de Marly Layton, sans the minty menthol opening. I was curious about the packaging, and which House it belonged to. Orientica is the House and this is one of three different bottles it's been placed in within the last year. There's the Orientica XO Xclusif Oud Bleu, this packaging which is Orientica Luxury Royal Bleu, and then the bottle that looks like Al Haramain, but still Orientica, Amber Oud Exlusif Bleu. I bought the Haramain looking bottle thinking it was part of their Amber Oud line. I own several of the fragrances in that line and they've all been powerhouses, but need a little time to smooth out. The Haramain Amber Oud Gold for Women took about 3 months before the fruits began to show up. I was really surprise when spraying Amber Oud Exclusif Bleu and this beautiful creamy vanilla came out! No harsh chemical opening, no barely there scent. Love at first sniff. I sprayed it a few more times then set it aside to begin to macerate, usually about 3 weeks will see it mature properly. I couldn't stay away from it, though, I kept smelling it, and the next time I sprayed it, there was a something that smelled very lightly of.. balsam fir? I'm not sure what scent note it is, but it's delicious! A week goes by and the scent starts to skew more unisex, maybe even slightly masculine, but that fabulous dry down is still there. I decided I was going to buy the Orientica Luxury Royal Bleu, it's FB worthy and wow, is the bottle high end. I jumped onto Amazon during Prime Day, and they had a 5oz ( 150ml) Royal Bleu for $88. I work in healthcare in 12 hr shifts and i haven't come across too many great unisex scents that are hospital friendly. I actually use this in my long hair that I braid. I've received compliments from both men and women with this scent, so I committed to this being my signature scent/daily driver. I just love it. I haven't actually smelled PdM Layton, I'll leave the comparisons to others, all I know is that it's now my signature scent. Blind buy safe.

This is as Layton as one could possibly get. Down to the performance and everything. I could honestly call this better than Layton in some ways because that menthol feeling in the opening (which I strangely only pick up sometimes when smelling actual Layton) is much less overbearing than what I get with the actual PDM. To be completely honest, I could say this has better projection and duration than the 82% Layton I tried, as I get much stronger wafts of this way later into the drydown. All in all a wonderful value as you can get a 5 oz of this for almost 3x less than a PDM 3.4 oz, and it would be very, very, very hard to tell apart. Quality bottle and everything, safer gamble than Detour Noir given its mixed reviews on quality. Warm apple pie that's contrasted by a cool minty spiciness that blends together into one of the most beautiful scents I have ever had grace my nose. Projection: 9.5/10 This stuff is certifiably nuclear for hours on end. Be careful not to overspray, this will create a beautiful and intense scent bubble a few feet away from you, and expect a good scent trail. Doesn't seem to give anosmia, I get whiffs of this throughout its drydown. Longevity: 9.5/10 This screams a good 5-7 hours before becoming a beautfiul and still powerful skin scent as it tapers off for another 5-7 hours. Lasts pretty much until a wash on clothing too. Versatility:8/10 This works year round for nighttime. It's intensity and warmness is something that makes it a bit suboptimal for hot summer days, but this is still fashionable virtually anytime with careful spray rationing. I see this working best as a cooler month signature, and year round date night and clubbing fragrance.

I HAVE LAYTON, repeat, i have PDM Layton, and I had this little gift set from Orientica from a few months back, with tiny little deluxe samples but in the gorgeous little highly ornamental bottles with dabber tops.. I have used and tried and purchased FULL bottles of every single one so far, and let me just say, there's an Erba, there's a BR 540, there's a Kirke, there's a MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold,, there's an OUD Bouquet / MFK Oud Satin one, and then there's this.. .this is LAYTON. Down to the core... and I mean opening, middle, ending and LONGEVITY. In fact the Orientica one slightly outlasted the OG on a test strip. So, now I have a FULL giant bottle - a full 5oz one. This is a no brainer for $68.99. SERIOUSLY. If you like Layton, you'll adore this and the savings. Good lord, I'm not joking.. No maturation required.. .First spray was PERFECT. They are ALL perfect. I'm shocked the last "Layton clone war" was laterally void of this? I have the other dupes they had.. This one for me beat them all.. Lalique Black in White, have it. good but not "it" Detour Noir, yeah, good but not "this". the WOODS collection.. closer but still drifts a little.. this should be at the top.. I think mayyyyybe it's the bottle.. I don't think this bottle appeals to men maybe.. so it gets overlooked.. just decant it into a nice atomizer.. yeah? this is too good to gate keep. Everyone should smell like a million bucks for less. 10/10 frag. Orientica, you are FIRE !

I echo most of that the previous two reviewers said: This is a terrific PdM Layton clone, far better than Al Haramain Detour Noir in several aspects, and its quality in comparison to similar-smelling designer fragrances in the same price range make it an excellent purchase. For one, it's blended much better. This actually has a semi-fresh opening, and if you try, you can pick out each of the notes listed as the fragrance evolves through its note pyramid. It's still heavy on the base notes (vanilla and jasmine, in particular), but whereas Detour Noir goes straight to those base notes and is a bit "muddy," here you can really smell the apple, the mandarin, the geranium, and so forth. Also, the performance is absolutely monstrous. Two sprays will last you all day, and any more will simply be too strong. Just an outstanding fragrance in every way, presentation included. Right now it's difficult to find it for under $70 but it's definitely worth the price, considering how good it is not only compared to Detour Noir, but other similarly-priced designer fragrances like the Armani Stronger With You line, Azzaro Wanted line, etc. A superb offering from Orientica!

wow. i nearly came when i put my nose on this. i just went thru a 5ml of Layton , loved the smell so much so i looked into dupes. this and XO bleu were my best options for a good projecting, 93-95% accurate dupe of layton. this arrived today, so no time to masturbate yet, BUT, it already has that slightly vix vapor rub smell in the opening, dries down into that BEAUTIFUL vanillic apple pie smell with slight woods. projects great, sprayed 2 hrs ago and still getting BEAUTIFUL whiffs of myself. this is the truth!!! for someone who just had a sample of layton, smelled it like 3 days ago and now am smelling this, it’s damn near undistinguishable. maybe Layton has a more pronounced apple pie smell. but it’s still here in Royal Bleu. you may see Xclusif Oud Bleu Orientica Premium and think it’s the best Layton dupe. this is XO Bleu but with better projection and 1% sweeter on the opening (Xo bleu is spicier on opening and has Oud in it unlike layton) other than that, dries down into that SAME LAYTON DNA, except this one will project harder and have that “vix apple pie” smell. go with this one, yes it’s more expensive, but is more similar to Layton imo.

I had my eye on this because A. i love the bottle design and B. it’s supposed to be a great layton dupe by PDM. At the perfume store by me (shoutout to perfume addicts) they had this to my surprise. I smelt Layton on a tester strip and smelt RB on the other and they do smell extremely similar. to the avg nose, you wouldn't be able to tell them apart. I get no menthol and no weird baby powder that some speak of. It's a strong, long lasting and very well blended citrus/floral/vanilla. I sprayed this on one of my sweaters in my closet and could smell it on the fabric for 24+ hours, then did a skin test and sprayed it before I went to the gym. The scent stayed on and projected decently until I got home, after lots of sweating mind you. From a versatility standpoint, I don't see me wearing this in the heavy heat, maybe 80 degrees and below. In that case, pretty much every season besides when its sweltering heat outside (but wear whatever you want, who cares, everything is personal preference). This can definitely be worn for any occasion, it's sophisticated in its own way and is honestly very lovely. I give this a solid 8/10. Blind buy safe as well.

Just got this in today after having the detour noir and was so amazed how it smelled but the smell only lasted about 20 minutes on me and I was so mad because it smelled so awesome it teased me so I decided to buy other clones close to Layton and I got the royal bleu and to me it smells amazing exactly like the detour noir but it stays loud the whole time after a few sprays it been six hours and my wife is still smelling me saying wow it smells so good. I'm so glad I chose to spend a few extra bucks yes it's more expensive but it's still cheap and lasts and I feel comfortable using this instead of my Layton bottle and I can spray this as much as I want to. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes Layton, I think I'm going to buy all these from this line of fragrances because they know what they are doing...wow

I have had my 5oz. (larger sized) bottle for 3.5-ish months. I agree with another review that this is close to PDM Layton, as much as Liquid Brun is to Althair. Maturatation so far has improved scent nuance, longevity and blend. Currently lasts 5-6 hours on my skin and 15+ hours on clothes. I wanted to mention that eBay and Chinese sites sell mostly fakes. The fakes look scary real, and are priced really low. Every seller I have asked if the Royal Blue they are selling is from the original manufacturer, they say no or do not respond. Highly recommend purchasing from Jomoshop or Amazon (with a lot of reviews). The 5oz. bottle I purchased from Amazon for $80 + tax, which I think is a steal. I also have Dusk, which is similar to Royal Blue but sweeter, and almost no mint note like Royal Blue or Layton.

This stuff is really good. I also have Detour Noir, and in comparison, it projects a bit better, lasts longer, has a noticeably nicer/thicker sillage, and has higher quality ingredients. If you're on a budget or don't care that much for the DNA, I'd recommend Detour Noir, but if you love the Layton DNA, get this or just save up for the actual PDM. That being said, this fragrance is great and is very much a cooler weather staple. Also, the apple and vanilla notes in here are really nice and make this thing stand out in comparison to 90% of designer fragrances. Easy 10/10. Edit: Now that I've smelled Layton, I'm recommending this even more if you like the DNA. To 99% of people, they're indistinguishable, making this a no-brainer.

Just got this today because I was looking for a good clone of Layton but wanted something not as ugly as the presentation of Detour Noir. I think that this stuff is very strong and caused me to go anosmic quickly, but I went to the store and got four unsolicited compliments almost immediately. Two of the ladies said that it projected very far away from me and I didn't spray heavy either. So I'm not giving my full review yet as I'm two hours into the first wearing but as you can see, people like it. But I wear fragrances for myself and I want to enjoy smelling it so I hope that it's not one that I always go anosmic to. Next time I will spray very lightly! But great scent profile for sure. I love the notes listed. I'm a woman that will wear a LBD and a leather jacket and go out wearing things like ombre leather, tobacco vanille, red tobacco, light blue intense man, club de nuit intense man, and various oud fragrances. There is something here that leans to masculine for me tho. Like I'm drinking sparkling bubbly next to a man's armpit and the deodorant he's wearing is nice but stronger then the drink. Not a complaint but not what I want to smell like. Love cardamom but it's too bubbly aftershave all through the timeline here. If you do like this try Ajayeb Dubai by Lattafa. The butterscotch coffee reminds me of cardamom here and it's warmer and less pitstick smelling with pineapple saffron and sandalwood.

Haven't smelled Layton, but I blind bought this based on the notes. It's absolutely great, such a "sophisticated" scent profile. I was kind of afraid that it was going to be like Lattafa Asad (nice spicy/citrusy opening, boring drydown) but luckily it's not the case. The scent is great from opening to drydown. The green apple, citrus and pepper in the opening are awesome. The cardamom is incredibly good, and after an hour or so the woods start to gain relevance. All tied with vanilla from start to finish. Excellent for fall and winter, and perhaps spring nights, I can't imagine it being too desirable in the summer. More suited for dressing up, but I guess it can work in more casual settings too.

Got this for 61$ here in Romania I LEFT THIS A FEW HOURS TO CALM DOWN AFTER TRANSIT (what you should all do before unboxing a fragrance) First Impression: On first spray you get hit with a baked-candied apple with powdery spices in the background + a slight fizzy vibe (like from a carbonated beverage).... After a few minutes an almond note comes forward alongside that apple and also you can feel a creamy, but dark woodiness in the background... This projects heavily and it has been a few hours since I sprayed it... This bottle is only 80ml, but this is a max 6-7 spay-er (and I am someone who sprays a lot generally) Will get back with a full review, but for now I am VEEERY pleased!

I bought this as a blind buy, mainly based on reviews from here. Very happy, but not knowing how close it actually was to Layton. Today I had the chance to correct this. This is pretty much as close to 1 to 1 as you're going to get. No one smelling this in the air would be able to tell the difference and I'd even go as far to say that smelling on skin, you can't distinguish. Performance is better than Layton. You'd be a fool to buy Layton over this, unless you're a purist obviously. It is a very nice fresh,rounded fragrance and although on the pricier side for a clone, worth every penny. Go buy it!! You won't be disappointed.

I own both Layton and Royal Bleu. Before I purchased a full bottle, I got a decant of it and did a test. I sprayed both on paper and mixed them up to see if I would choose the clone over the original. I smelled the paper and they smelled 99.9% identical. I chose the one that smelled "better" to me, and I chose Royal Bleu. This smells the same off my skin as Layton as well, perhaps a bit better, as Layton gives me this weird green fuzziness if I sniff it too closely. This already lasts 8+ hours, but if you mix it with unscented lotion and apply it, you'll still be smelling it after 24 hours.

Goddamn this smells great! The most accurate Layton clone i've tried. I'll go as far as to say you don't need Layton with this. It delivers projection, longevity (way better than Layton actually), and QUALITY: No alcohol blast or nasty opening. It's very well blended and put together from start to finish. I've been wearing this for the past 3 days and i can't get enough of it. The presentation is also beautiful and considering the price tag on the whole package, this is well worth your money. Trust me, save your bucks and buy this instead of PDM.

@Dustee You’re not alone. Performance are like 30min to an hour. I’m not a begginer in fragrances,I do not over spray or go nose blind,it just doesn’t work on me. I bought 2 weeks used bottle with 40ml and will leave it for a month. Let’s see will it mature and get stronger. Edit: march 15,after 2 months it became more potent. It last for 6,7h at least. It is very very nice but the price $80 for 80ml for a dupe with ugly as f bottle is overpriced.

Smells like layton. And also, it smells like layton. It performs better than layton. Still has that menthol type smell on the top which is basically green apple mixed with the cardamom and other notes to give it that effect. I got a 5 ounce bottle for $85 on amazon. I'm really happy with it, it's better than layton. It performs better than Detour Noir. It's more complex than Detour Noir. Detour Noir is weak, orientica Royal Bleu is not.

Another hit from Orientica. Niche quality like. Scent is really good and well made. I haven’t tried Layton, but Royal Bleu is excellent, from opening until it fades. Solid performance up until 7 hours, plus 2-3 hours as skin scent. But maceration is MANDATORY. Mine was not good straight from the glass (was not bad but was confusing and no performance), but after two months, incredible. Worth the wait.

Good alternative for PDM Layton, but it's not the same. if i gave a percantage for the similarity it would be %85-%90. Layton has more vanilla and it feels darker than this. I think royal bleu has much less vanilla at the base and it has lime not the green apple to me. I can recommend this easily for good performance, smell, and for the good sillage.

I don't know how Dusk the Woods gets all the hype. Guys...this is IT. To me Dusk smells like wood and menthol. This is soooo smooth, very menthol note, you get the apple pie scent, the vanilla, man this is good. Al Haramain Exclusif Bleu is really good as well, and I would definitely recommend that. But THIS is Layton, and you won't be disappointed.

This is hands down the best Middle Eastern take on Layton DNA. Slight variation in opening which I can detect as I had 5 bottles of Laytons in last 3 years, but 99.99% people won’t be able to guess. Dry down is indistinguishable as well. This replaces Layton for me and I hope they come out with their interpretations of Layton Exclusif soon. 10/10

Premium perfume. I tried Layton, on my hand, on a strip, I tried this also and I can't explain why this feels more natural than pdm. Bottle looks kitschy but it's a good weapon in case of something (heavy af). I got it for under 80 bucks and i think it's unbeatable. The quality of the juice is mwah.

The comment below me (bumaitre75) is a freaking liar LMAO, this is 1:1 to layton I assure you, from the opening and drydown and does have a better longetivity than the OG, I have both in my collection. Better try it yourself, compare and prove me wrong

This perfume is truly fit for royalty! The opening is so fresh and inviting with the green apple and bergamot. It then settles into this warm, spicy, and slightly powdery scent that lasts all day. I get so many compliments whenever I wear it!

This is hands down Layton all the way. It is the same exact juice as that Amber Oud Exclusif Bleu and XO Xclusif Bleu. Layton is just a beautiful scent overall and this is the perfect clone/dupe. Last super long and it is super strong.

Gatekeep this from tiktok! This is very very close to PDM Layton. If people ask, just tell them it’s PDM Layton, they’ll believe you. Starts off with a strong menthol powder, dries down into a beautiful, sexy and sophisticated scent.

Scent profile is a very close 1:1, this is to layton what althair is to liquid brun. Unfortunately im not getting fantastic performance like everyone is claiming, maybe itll improve over time.

Woow, amazing, definitely worth it and I would even say amazing that it's so cheap. I have Detour Noir it is cool but something was missing from it, this perfume has it.

The scent is there and it would be my 1st dupe on the shelf but it's performing poorly. I left a decant to sit for a while hoping it's gonna change and become stronger.

Don't wear it very often, but I always get compliments when I'm wearing it. Even 8 hours after application so absolutely no issues here with the performance!

I smelled this today and it was AMAZING it smells like a spicy vanilla pastry reminds of Tom for tobbacco vanille in the drydown

There is something wrong with this perfume, it smells beastly, the top notes are superb, the problem for me is that it lasts 2 days on clothes, but on the skin an hour max... I don't feel base and middle notes, it practically disappears. I don't know what to think, I love it to death, but it doesn't last on me...even more strange, and do so Layton, that one is even worse, the top notes are also deleted. I no longer understand anything. Now I'm doing a test with the red tobbaco... there is no comparison term, red tobbaco is a bomb. I deposit bottle for a few months, maybe something will change in terms of persistence. I did another test today with a new model of Layton... this perfume smells better than the current layton.. clearly the problem is with me because it seems stronger than layton and then it disappears... I can't smell it anymore.. .Last night I applied it at 19:00 on the wrist and this morning it still felt, after more than 10 hours, probably I'm not applying it properly...I'm doing something wrong. It is clearly a super perfume!

I blind-bought this without knowing what Layton 5 smells like so I was a bit anxious, but I love lavender and cardamom so I thought 'What could go wrong?'. Let me tell you, I am so pleased I took the risk and purchased this fragrance! It is gorgeous. The opening reminds me of Thierry Mugler's Angel Eau De Parfum, I believe the mandarin orange and bergamot are the culprits here. It doesn't take long for the pepper and lavender to shine through, adding an elegant floral spice to the citrus. However, I didn't get much of the green apple on my skin. When the cardamom makes an entrance, the symphony of spice intensifies. The florals hum away in the background but don't take centre stage, this fragrance remains androgynous and beautifully sophisticated. Even when the vanilla appears, it doesn't steal the show. I feel vanilla usually overpowers everything in most fragrances on the dry down, but in this, it blends so well into the spiciness of the perfume and makes it even richer in its performance.

Received a sizable decant of Orientica "Royal Bleu" when I re-purchased "Melodie de Orientica." I realize I can no longer tolerate and wear Melodie de Orientica but that's a different review/story. Not in my usual wheelhouse, Royal Bleu opens with clean, crisp, refreshing fruits, cardamom (a LOVE for me), a bit of pepper and lavender. I experience loads of lavender with this perfume, which immediately makes my brain register the perfume as masculine-leaning. I dislike categorizing perfumes in any way. I say, "Wear what you like, when you like" and I hope others do so. Royal Bleu's dry-down is lovely as the sharp citrus-lavender opening softens and gentle woods, some vanilla and the perfect balance of patchouli appear. I like Royal Bleu but it's just too much of a freshie fragrance that doesn't quite resonate with me.

I like this. But i like Layton more. Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic clone fragrance. Once in dry down, there is hardly anything to tell them apart...and yet there is also definitely SOMETHING that still sets them apart. There's a synthetic nature to this one that I'm not too fond off. For me personally, anything over 3 sprays of Royal Bleu and it comes off as pungent on me. I get whiffs of it when i turn around and it's as lovely, as it is annoying. Its a hard one to explain. It's quite cloying. It's also a very expensive clone here in the UK. Obviously not the figures PDM command, but certainly too pricey being a clone. £70 for 80ml is way too much in my opinion, although i respect what Orientica have been able to achieve with this one as a whole. 7/10 for me.

I smell something like powdered milk and menthol, almost like menthol foot powder but nice. Maybe is the result of combining white flowers, musk and apple. This is really good and stays on clothes for days, but is not a blind buy, because it's not like a common blue fragrance. It's more like a powdery white floral fruity musky fragrance.

My least favorite of the line. Definitely leans more masculine extremely similar to Layton for a fraction of the cost. I like to layer this with a sultry feminine scent like Jimmy Choo I want Choo. Smells gorgeous then

I blind bought it. It's clearly feminine. It's the more feminine version of Layton and a bit sweeter. I think I'll gift it to a girl. For a man Detour noir is the way to go. That vix aspect makes it more masculine.
