Velvet Gold

This is the scent of caramel in between liquid and solid stages. Imagine you're making caramel from scratch. You caramelize the brown sugar mixture first, and then add shaved ice, producing a burst of steam and turning the mixture balsamic to the soft ball stage. As the scent fills your kitchen, you pour yourself a cup of Earl Grey tea. My mom used to make this in winter when I was a kid, using her Grandad's recipe. This beauty opens with a caramel burst of MacIntosh toffee, violet and faint pink pepper and intensifies picking up powdered rose, patchouli and Earl Grey tea. This is in the scent profile that includes Intense Cafe Montale, and Crystal Rose Swiss Arabian. Comparison to Intense Cafe Montale: These are quite similar in the drydowns, however Intense Cafe has the coffee note in the opening which this doesn't have, also this one has the animal notes which come across as earl grey tea (probably due to the tannin found in tea and leather). Coffee or Tea? Comparison to Crystal Rose Swiss Arabian: Very similar again, with Crystal Rose being a bit sweeter and more rosy, and not having the tannin note which cuts the sweetness. Comparison to Delina Exclusif Parfums de Marly: These have some similarities also, although the opening of Delina Exclusif is more recognizably like Delina, but dries down very close to this scent profile to my nose. I don't get tea in DE either. Overall: Well above average performance, and I'm really enjoying the tea note - it goes so well with this scent profile IMO. it's a love for me!

First day with this today and I know it still has to macerate thanks to all the lovely suggestions but DANG I LOVE IT. I can only imagine it gets better. There’s something sexy about this in the dry down. Beginning opens up with Carmel drizzled over fermented fruits with a vanilla base. Once it is dried down I get the pink pepper more mixed with a musk that doesn't go to animalic on me personally but my skin tends to do well with musks. It’s balanced perfectly with the powdery violets and I see this being good for year round if it is worn appropriately. Beast mode scent so keep this in mind before you spray on skin to test especially since not even a hot bath could get this off my skin (not that I’d want it to be off lol). This smells completely different on skin so keep that in mind too! I can see this working in summer if you enjoy gourmands since it layers very well or on summer nights if sprayed lightly due to the powder notes. Can’t wait to see how this goes in fall and how it macerates. I can see a man wearing this but it does lean more feminine. Never smelled roses vanille or gentle fluidity gold so I can’t speak on if this is similar but if I ever do I’ll try to update this!

Oh man, this is intoxicating. I cannot help but let out an audible "Oh my God!" every time I bring my wrist up to my nose. The woman who wears this is unique and feminine. She goes on luxury vacations and is the best dressed guest at every wedding she attends. She commands the room with her presence and she's certainly not afraid to stand out, while also embracing her femininity. I mean...this is absolutely divine. It's very feminine, quite sweet, yet sensual and grown up. You don't get much powder at first spray. In fact, you are hit with that caramel violet combo instantly. The powder really shines on dry down and the rose and musk come alive. It's a scent that evolves. Each time I smell it, I pick up a different note. Please do not base your opinion on this scent from the bottle or even when sprayed on paper. The fragrance really shines when it interacts with your skin and natural chemistry. The perfume smells nothing like what I smell off the bottle. This is not for young girls.

This is what I imagine a princess would smell like - a caramel, powdery violet vanilla cloud of pure hypnotic heaven. This beauty is an all occasion safe scent that envelops you in the sweetest, most elegant cloud with a pretty decent longevity and projection, but never really getting into gourmand territory. Now, there's also this animalic note that can make it or break it for you. On my case it shifts a lot - sometimes it bothers me and it feels to noticeable, others I don't think much of it. I think it depends a lot on weather and enviroment, but for certain, this note is always there and present. I could say it resembles a bit of a skin scent/odor perhaps? It helps to make this vanilla into something more natural, I would call it "lived in". It's also what grounds this into not transforming into a caramel/whipped cream pastry scent. This is elegant, gorgeous but also subdued - a secret beauty found in silence outside of the spotlight, with a story to tell.

OMG y'all!!! I ordered this perfume a few days ago, as part of my current Middle Eastern obsession phase, it arrived an hour ago and I've been frantically spraying myself because I cannot get enough of this caramel, violet (lipsticky), slightly powdery, rosey, patchouli, musky and vanillic potion!!! Imagine MFK's Gentle Fluidity Gold but with waaay more punch (strength) and longevity! I haven't worn it out yet so I know nothing about sillage and projection, but I do know this; I like this better than MFK's and it is INTOXICATING! Also, despite the fact that this has both violet and powdery notes listed in its composition, this does not smell super powdery to me. As a reference, this is a lot less powdery than Prada Candy, which I own and love (it also contains caramel), but you have to like powdery perfumes to wear Candy, not so much Velvet Gold.

As someone who doesn't really like overwhelmingly powdery and musky scents, I was pleasantly surprised when I blind bought this and loved it! The caramel, violet and vanilla balances out the powder and musk and makes this enjoyable for me. Long-lasting and projects really well. I have a cold and am super stuffy and congested right now but I can still smell this on me sitting at my office desk. It's a BEAST performance-wise. The bottle design is gorgeous and regal. I'm always amazed at how some of these Middle Eastern perfumes can be such a perfume trifecta: smell amazing with beastly performance, beautiful bottle design and affordable compared to its counterparts on the market. If you want an affordable, better performing option to GFG, I highly recommend!

I have 50+ fragrances in my collection and this is in my top 10. I love this. Honestly considering a backup bottle of this and of junoon noir. If you have both, try then as a combo. Thank me later. Saying this smells like roses vanille is a insult to this parfume. Roses vanille smells more like delina that it does this, as this smells lamper exactly like gf by mfk. I kind of get it. But if you want roses vanille and but this, you would be dissapointed. And i have roses vanilla which i bought as a blind buy (i hate it) and this would have went in the trash if they smelled alike. But i do understand the same undernote. But not the one i find in initio, delina and roses vanille. I cant stand them. This however is chefs kiss.

Okay, GFG has been on my to buy list for the past year but i could get myself to buy it. When i figured Orientica had somewhat of a dupe i had to atleast try it to see if I like the GFG DNA... what can i say, i love it and i immediately made this my signature scent. This just screams me... Wore it today for a date and guy could not get enough of (me) sorry the parfum 😉 I also got the 11ml of Gentle fluidity gold so i sprayed them side by side and either my nose is still new to this fragrance game or there at the top and all i can say is when we talk of dupes, this one is spot on and performs way better in my opinion. Long story short, i live this fragrance and already ordering my back ups...

I just have to say that I absolutely adore this fragrance. To me, it doesn’t smell animalistic at all; instead, it brings back so many memories of my childhood. This scent reminds me of a juniper bush... yes! I used to play hide and seek with the kids in my neighborhood, hiding behind those bushes. No one could ever find me because I would stay hidden for so long, just relishing the aroma of juniper berries. I wore this fragrance during a day out in the countryside, and my best friend remarked that I smelled like bacon... I’ve never received a compliment on this one, but honestly, I don’t mind. I wear it mainly because I truly love it;

This perfume is for a feral kitty. It’s thick and animalic. It basically purrs. If you don’t see yourself like this you might be better off with something else. There is definitely something in this perfume- I think it’s the musk- that can be a challenge for some and entirely off putting to others. The thing about wild, untamable creatures is that they don’t care about conventionality so this perfume goes about it’s day effortlessly being itself, which is to say: bold, edgy, and soft at the same time.

I have the original MFK GFG and it’s one of my favorites, pretty long lasting, but doesn’t project as much as I’d like. Velvet Gold is absolutely identical to it, but definitely more projecting. Perhaps if I put my nose right on each of them, GFG is more well blended, but in the air you really can’t tell, and if you weren’t to know it’s a dupe, you couldn’t spot any differences. Yet need to test the longevity since I got it only a few days ago. Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious and stunning! Am yet to test the longevity, because just got it, but no doubt it’ll be long lasting. It smells identical to MFK GFG. I’m so pleased I waited until Velvet Gold came back into stock and ordered it rather than be impatient and splurged on GFG. It’s sweet, but bright. I can smell a tiny bit of sour cherry in it, even though it’s not listed. It can be a 365 days a year 24/7 type of perfume.

Powdery violets and caramel toffee are the strongest to my nose on this perfume's opening, gets rosier and much more vanillic as it dries down. The musk reads slightly lactonic on my skin but the animalic notes surprisingly don't stand out. A wonderful dupe for MFK's Gentle Fluidity Gold, I'd say this is much sweeter and projects much louder, at least off my skin. Cool/cold weather appropriate.

I don’t have any idea how gfg smells but this is so good. I can smell vanilla, powder, caramel and musk. It projects like a beast and lasts so long. It is sexy and feminine, is powerful and it smells more niche than most of niche perfumes. In the dry down this smells so similar to dama bianca and I would say better version than DB bc it projects more and last more. I love this 🤤

I don't know how to describe this perfume, this is something unusual but so good. At the beginning, it's a strange smell, but after a few minutes, drama starts. I sprayed it only once on my shirt on chest, early in the morning, all day I feel the smell around me, and even here as I write this it is 23:30, temperature 19 degrees.. A must-have perfume in your collection

I don't perceive any animal notes. The opening is a little sweeter than I'm used to, but then that sweetness softens and becomes a beautiful fragrance, with good projection and reasonable longevity. It's important to remember that these Arabic fragrances need to rest for a few weeks to develop their true potential.

Lovely musky powdery caramel vanilla for winter, good sillage and staying power and most important, not to sweet and not suffocating me, event with this summer temperatures..... Reminds me of Orchidee Vanille Van Cleef & Arpels which I have, so i'm not buying full bottle Edit: well, i got it anyway😀

Such a beautiful fragrance. Not airy like GFG but its syrupy in the opening and also less spicy than GFG whitch I love because GFG its just too spicy for me. Actually I like Orientica more! Great quality, long lasting, and bottle is sooo cool!

It is the closest to it's original. I've tried 3 dupes. Well worth the price tag. However, there is this odor in the first 15 minutes or so that smells like how a very old aldahydic perfume smells and then it settles and the perfume shines.

This is a strong powdery musky scent, you are hit with a caramel violet combo, if you are looking for a perfect dupe for mfk gentle fluidity gold?? Then this is a perfect rich caramelized, musky scent for you.

A gorgeous caramel-vanilla powder puff with slight faecal interest and pink pepperiness. I absolutely adore the scent, but the fragrance has little sillage to speak of. A strong like for the books.

This is an amazing perfume, it's like a grown up version of a vanilla/caramel perfume. It's very long lasting and it projects decently. It's a spot on dupe for GFG once it's settles on the skin.

Dry down is identical to Xerjoff Dama Bianca but much stronger (better IMO).

I ADORE this! For me it’s a signature style scent except for possibly the high summer heat. I get a linear, well blended, purple-y sweet scent. Very princess like. Well put together but approachable. It walks a good line between alluring, casual and professional. Appropriate for lots of occasions and good ‘first impression’ scent. On me it’s so well blended I can’t fully distinguish between the notes! I don’t get the bergamont, strong animalic or overly caramel-y notes. It’s strength is super useful to me too. It’s definitely strong with good lasting power. Totally functional and satisfying, but yet not a beast mode, choke-out, nuclear thing that might make me self conscious in the wrong setting (UNLESS you over-spray). I use this around friends and family who are a tad more sensitive to fragrances. It’s versatile enough I wouldn’t be upset to even wear it out to party/special occasion/date. Grab-and-go for your day *but NOT a gym/house chores/outdoorsy kind of grab-and-go. I do agree this is inspired from MFKs Gentle Fluidity Gold, but captures only the opening of it. *update: After wearing this daily for weeks and making a sizable dent in my bottle I have finally encountered the animalic notes. They pop up here and there for me. It's never too heavy, and I see where they create a sensual supporting base for the rest of the glowing purple notes. For me, the animalic aspect is fluffy, yet earthy at the same time. Some may not like it and feel like it smells fecal, so as always with animalic notes use caution. I don't think others would notice these notes, it's something that only the wearer will experience. I only fully noticed this side to the fragrance after using 20mls+, so this might be an unpleasant or pleasant surprise for some if they get a full bottle!

I tested this perfume off of a decant and fell in love with it, bought it and got really scared when I smelled it off of the bottle, because it smelled so different and cheap. I had it on the "declutter" list of perfumes, but didn't dare to sell it so quickly, so I waited 7 months to try it again. And guess what? It macerated beautifully and now it smells better than Gentle Fluidity Gold, in my opinion. So classy, so discreet and gently sweet. This vanilla is smooth and with the touch of grapes that the violet gives off, it's just heavenly. I like it more thant GFG because it has a little bit more longevity. When the perfume was new, it proyected like CRAZY, it was a bomb, and it smelled like grapes and vanilla in a juvenile way. I hated it. Couldn't stand it. 7 months later, became Gentle Fluidity Gold but whithout the juniper berries, insted it smells like violet, but very similar. Very similar longevity and projection than the MFK one. Quite recommend to sample this perfume when already macerated, otherwise, you'll just wont like it. But it gets WAY better over time, and I'm very picky with my middle-eastern perfumes...

I purchased four from this collection and they seem to be taking an eternity to mature into their intended scents! This one, and Oud saffron were my favorite of the four! I find it to be a bright citrusy floral. I can’t say if it smells like GFG, but I do have Fragrance World’s Barakkat gentle gold and they smell very similar. However, in this one, I feel like there may be another fruity note besides the bergamot that’s not listed. I thankfully have yet to pick up an animalic note, but that being said, I do feel like this still needs a bit longer to mature. I’ve had these since December! We’ll see what a few more months brings with this. Right now I find it a bit too sharp to wear out of the house. The gentle gold definitely has the vanilla instead of the caramel in this because my juice has darkened up quite a bit! If you’re looking for a GFG dupe, I like that one better than this, but I’ve also had it much longer. On its own, it’s not a bad fragrance but it’s not my favorite either.

This perfume is an experience, long distance run or waiting game. In the end, its feminine, delicate and skinlike. This is very romantic and soft. I tested this perfume, looked for animal notes and now I get why you either love this or hate this. On first spritz- Its fragrant lily, pepper, olives. Really strong, really pungent, not at all sweet. I didnt know what to make of it....just a big no. After 30 minutes, THE SHIT CAME!!!! The animal notes were straigh up shit with musk and olives, oh god i was cursing the day i thought this would be a serve. THEN after 90 minutes, my friends started complimenting me, I walked around in a cloud full of powder, violet and vanille, the most beautiful, elegant and earthy potion. It was a jorney, a long one, but in the end, its exactly what it sells, satiny- princess like- romantic- powdery- white musky. This is a work of art, I wholehearthedly love this, and would reccomend to everyone. You just have to be patient.

To me, this isn't a Gentle Fluidity Gold dupe. Instead, it's a Mancera Roses Vanille dupe. The bottle is gorgeous but Roses Vanille / Intense Cafe, etc. can be found for around the same price as this on discount sites. I bought it because a lot of people were praising it to be a Gentle Fluidity Gold dupe. Already having Mancera Roses Vanille and Zara's Rose Gourmand, I was immediately reminded of that same DNA. Yes, Gentle Fluidity Gold has an adjacent DNA and it's very easy to confuse the two because they are sister fragrances, but those who know the differences can easily tell apart one from the other. I'll continue to use it and will hunt for another Gentle Fluidity Gold dupe. Despite being able to afford the real deal, it sadly doesn't last long on me at all, hence why I was hoping this was a dupe. For what it's worth, this one does last for a very long time on me, but as does Roses Vanille, which is the fragrance I think this is duping.

I bought it out of curiosity, as I love every other Orientica fragrance I have purchased (Amber Rouge, both Arte Bellisimo and Melodie de Orientica). This is a high quality perfume and lasts long on my skin. Very prominent vanilla, but a deep sexy peppery vanilla. I really enjoy this a lot, I think it can work both as a day or nighttime fragrance, I would probably use it fall/winter. Thankfully, I don't really get the animal note, I guess it is part of the darkness of this perfume - in my opinion it compliments it, rather than making your nose scrunch.

I don't smell any animalic notes on this... maybe something wrong with my nose. At first I smell something very sweet but heavy, almost like almonds (alcohol), Marzipan, Caramel, burnt sugar for sure and also very mature notes. But after a while, it becomes something else totally. Powdery, sweet, dream-like, on sweet clouds floating, feminin and young and beautiful. I quite like it. I also smell some floral notes, fresh patchouli and subtle rose. And something like ripe grapes in the dry down, quite enchanting.

This smells like grown up vanilla. It smells like rich people vanilla. There is nothing juvenile about this scent. It's opulent and smells expensive. Lasts a long time as well. The bottle is gorgeous. I am really liking this. But it's not an every day scent though as it can overwhelm if worn during the day.

I bought an Orientica discovery set and of the 10 scents, this was my favorite. Very nice, powdery and sweet. I don’t get any unpleasant animalic notes others complain about.

Put that patchouli DOWN !!! Please 😫 This is such a pretty scent but my goodness that patchouli note throws me off. Makes it smell like hospital

First month : NOT A FAN. Had learned that fragrances can change with time. I got a few sprays out to introduce the oxygen in the bottle. I was barely starting with seeing what I like and don’t like. About 4 months later ; She smells completely different!! She not a straight up powder smell anymore, she still has that scent profile but with a sweet caramel, vanilla scent! Not something I would wear daily but I would wear on special occasions that are OUTDOORS. Slighty gives off Grandma vibe- BUT!!!! She’s a rich grandma who probably had a kinky side.

Velvet Gold smells a lot like MFK Gentle Fluidity Gold it’s just more sweet and the notes are so different. Still, I have both and I compared them together and I could barely tell the difference. My husband actually thought that Velvet Gold is the original GFG. It’s a sweet and unique scent. I love it. After comparing them both side by side for a week, I noticed that Velvet Gold is sweeter (caramel note) and little bit longer lasting on my skin. It’s a beautiful scent but I think I prefer GFG as it’s less sweet and a bit more sophisticated.

it smells really really REALLY similar to Gentle Fluidity Gold but i can’t stand the animalistic notes... they’re really overpowering once you spray it and then it kinda goes away but not really??? i’ve only used it once and it took me 3 hours to love it like i did when i smelled it on the sample :( it’s a beautiful beautiful scent and a great dupe for GFG but the added notes are just not for me... i’m selling my 2.7oz only sprayed like thrice for $60 so lmk if you’re interested !! i could also trade

Nothing special, expected more tbh, still a nice, everyday fragrance.

The presentation is gorgeous, the bottle is gorgeous but the scent? Unfortunately for me the animal notes are too much for my nose. The opening of the fragrance is candied powdery violets with caramel drizzled on them but after 10 minutes the animal notes with the patchouli is giving poop vibes to my nose. Like you pooped yourself and spray perfume to try and cover the smell. Maceration is making those animal notes even stronger. I understand that those animal notes are put in the perfume for the lasting power but my God it's way too much. I really wanted to love this fragrance but nope. But there is hope. I recently bought Fragrance World Barackat gentle gold and that doesn't have the poop smell like orientica. So if you have the same problem like me, try that one, it's also cheaper less than 25€ and the lasting power is not bad.

I loved this at first. She sat for about 2 months in the shelf. I decided to put it on this morning and I can't wait to take a shower. It gave me a headache. Its a no for me unfortunately.

OMG. I liked this at first, but after 6 months on my shelf, I sprayed again, and I got a cat litter box odor. UPDATE: A few hours later, it is is faint and much better. Mostly powdery.

This smells like straight up giraffe poop at the zoo. ETA: I’m about 20 min into wearing it and the animalic note is just becoming even more prominent. Like violet candied poop.

Wanted to love this- this is super animalic on my skin and goes a bit nasty I can’t lie. Smells like caramel and mothballs/ decay. Oof. Can’t compare it to Gentile Fluidity Gold unfortunately as I’ve never smelled GFG.

Velvet Gold by Orientica was a blind buy fail for me. The opening smells of camphor, though it quickly dissipates. However, the heavy animalic notes immediately emerge and nauseatingly persist throughout the wear.

For me it wasn't the animalics that ruined this scent for me, as I love animalics...I just found this to be a heavy handed cherry scent, a screechy mess.

I blind bought this after watching Paulina Schar's YouTube review where she ummed and sighed so dreamily when sniffing it lol. She had mentioned it was like Roses Vanille by Mancera and Montale Café Intense and I had recently sampled the Roses Vanille and enjoyed it but was intrigued by the other notes in this, the caramel and violet particularly. It is indeed very similar but slightly less rosey in the opening and doesn't stay rosey in the drydown it's pink pepper, powdery and sugary. I find it quite delicate, not as powerful as some have described and could be worn year round. Longevity I would say is less than the Roses Vanille. Ordered direct from the UK Orientica website and it came the next day. The packaging and the bottle are beautiful with a quality feel. A delightful, pretty, warm sweet, but not overly spicy scent. Edit: a couple weeks in and the animalic notes really started to zing. A little too much tbh. I loved it at first, I still like it but it was way lighter initially. The funky musk dominates now. It's still good in moderation but wish it had stayed how it was when first sprayed. update 2024 - I stopped using this as the animalic note was just too heavy hitting but I tested it again yesterday and found that it has changed again, its a much gentler caramel powder scent with a hint of violet, still pretty musky -. I used it to perfume my underwear drawer. The bottle is still everything.

Got this yesterday, wore it yesterday and today. First day smelled funky but I think it's because its true what they say, you really need to wait a few days before you test a fragrance that is shipped to you. I'm not even going to talk about the stuff I smelled yesterday. Today, I got a very sweet sugary (possibly caramelized) vanilla with faint traces of rose and powederiness. It definitely has the gentle fluidity gold, intense cafe, roses musk vibes. Its closer to GFG than the other two. It's last long on clothes but nothing special on skin, I say about 4-6 hours. it has very good projection and in the air it smells even better and smoother. This is heavier than GFG, which I think can be worn all year round, this is a sweet and cozy cold weather scent to me. All in all, good blind buy, will definitely be keeping this beauty. the price is a fraction of GFG. Edit: There is definitely a funkiness way way in the background and I'm guessing it’s from animal note. What is that anyway it almost smells like castoreum. And I can only smell it if I press my nose into my skin where I sprayed or smell directly from the nozzle. In the air it’s not there. I’ll have to keep trying it but that animal note is there and it’s not in mfk gfg or intense cafe or roses vanille.

Ok, I might be early to judge, I got this for 3 days now, but this is the first blind buy disappointment for me. Usually blind buying based on reviews work for me but this one was so controversial, so I decided to go by the positive ones and ignored the rest. VG DOES remind me of roses vanille, but the middle eastern version. With a faint musky-oudy base that screams middle eastern. It also DOES smell like poop unfortunately. Although not all the time. I don’t know how that works. But sometimes I get it and sometimes I don’t. I have never smelled gentle fluidity gold, so no comment on that. but this definitely passes for a middle eastern take on roses vanille by mancera. I just very very much prefer roses vanille. VG is also comparably pricier than usual middle eastern perfumes, price for 80 ml was around the same as 60 ml of roses vanille on the discount sites. So, I am not satisfied with this one so far. Another thing to mention, I got this mostly because it was recommended online as a love for people who love dama bianca and junoon noir, those two are my signature scents and all time favourites. This has nothing to do with that scent family. This is sugary rose powder+ occasionally poop.
