Elvie Summer Magic

This is a very cohesive scent, I cannot pick it apart note by note. It’s fresh, clean, and pleasant. It’s aquatic in a very mild and inoffensive way – more watermelon in the sun than synthetic imitations of “blue water” or “cool dew” that give me headaches. Also, it shares a lot with the original Elvie, but it doesn’t have its alcohol undertones I find a bit annoying – which is a plus. Probably because it has less lily-of-the-valley. I have a bottle that I’ve hunted down and bought out of nostalgia. Back in my college days, I used to like Elvie as an everyday scent, so when this new summer version rolled out (with a gift enamel flower ring at that!) I jumped on the opportunity. Back then, I was not very impressed, frankly. I liked the original Elvie better, because it was more floral and sweet, while this was cooler, lighter, and more aquatic. Still, okay for a summer fragrance, so I used up the entire bottle and moved on. Now, as I said, I feel nostalgic. I am repurchasing the scents that I used to have or used to know from my older sister’s and my mom’s collections to reconstruct the olfactory landscape of my past – and it’s working. Scents are a perfect time machine. Now I love Elvie Summer Magic because it transports me back to my sunlit room, full of my sister’s chatter, books, trinkets, birthday cards, and childhood memories. It’s not just a scent for me anymore – it’s a time capsule. Yet even on its own, I like Summer Magic. It’s a nice inoffensive office scent for summer – and a lovely freshie for the scorching days we are living through now in July 2024. I am quite amazed at how easy it is on my nose. Looking at the pyramid full of blue accords of “ozonic,” “aquatic,” and “fresh” complemented by “green” I’d usually steer clear out of fear of getting a massive migraine. Yet Elvie is so well-behaved and amiable! It’s a tricky balance to strike, so I guess I can recommend her to other aquatic-hesitant noses like mine.

An exellent choice if you like really floral scents! It just has an amazing fresh and clean touch to it that i love, and good lasting power , however... It has à very strong smell so you have to be careful not to go overboard .

Oriflame fragances are generally always liked by me. Very nice, original and cruelty free. Price points offer something nice for everyones' budget. I like this company.
