Eternal Man

So the ONLY reason I bought this is because it is by Julien Rasquinet who also did the fantastic Masque Milano Russian Tea which costs many many times more than Eternal Man. First sniff is disappointing as it is overwhelmingly “fresh” and synthetic. The drydown is more promising. Whether I just become nose blind to the aromachemical or it genuinely calms down I’m not sure but a pleasant citrus (almost pineapple) becomes detectable over a warm leather base. Overall it is a convincing evocation of a Swedish Dad like it claims to be. Most days though I’d rather pay the extra and go with Russian Tea.

It has indeed a nice classical, a bit old fashioned vibe. I find the warm leathery notes blended with some spice and carnation conforting yet sexy. Sillage and longevity are modest.

I was encouraged to test Eternal Man by the author of the composition, Julien Rasquinet, whom I admire very much and who, on a lower budget, has already created a quite good fragrance, Ascendant Intense, for Oriflame. However, Eternal disappoints, although my main complaint is not so much about the scent itself, which is not bad, but about its concentration. It is a very weak aroma, barely noticeable, without power, and it is these terrible parameters that make Eternal generally forgotten quickly. The opening is pure alcohol, for the first dozen or so seconds I don't smell anything other than a sharp streak of alcohol. Only after a long time do the proper notes begin to emerge, but everything is so delicate, thin, ethereal that it takes a lot of involvement of our sense of smell to detect the character and any play of notes here. Eternal has a fresh, citrus-like opening, with woody notes and a slight herbal note of coriander from the very beginning. Later, the aroma becomes warmer and sweeter, with amber, chestnut and soft leather. Woody, gentle, subdued and unfortunately lacking in character, this is Eternal. This name doesn't suit him. The scent would be nice if it had at least a little more power, it is at the level of Glacier products of this brand which also have terrible parameters. Longevity is maybe 2 hours and the projection is very delicate, bordering on any noticeable effect. And what's the point of having 100 ml in a bottle at a good price if we have to pour it all over ourselves to feel something? In addition, the cap is poorly fitted and keeps falling off and does not stick to the bottle. Overall, it was a failure, which is a pity because there was potential for something better. The idea was there, the tone of the composition was synthetic but even interesting, but the execution was terrible. However, the composition itself makes up for it a bit and raises my overall rating. 4/10

I'm greatly disappointed with the projection and longevity Oriflame Glacier already weak enough, but is this even weaker. They really shouldn't call this product "Eternal" In my experience, when you bought Oriflame perfume The 75ml products (e.g Eclat, Citrus Tonic, Friends World) almost always have better longevity & projection than the 100ml one (Eternal Man, Glacier) It's cheap, but I still wouldn't recommend this.. Unless you love having really-really faint scent You could only smell it if you spray it on your clothes and sniff it real close. The scent itself is not bad, but why bother wearing a perfume when they can't even last an hour. Longevity : 1/10 Projection :1/10
