Giordani Gold Original

A simple clean aquatic and fresh white floral woody musk fragrance. I bought it at an airport Duty Free shop. This is an EDT more than EDP even if it reads EDP on the bottle. When you spray it, it's a fresh delicious pure orange scent. The citrus top notes come through loud and clear. A zesty vibrant orange and lemon and even though it is very fresh and strong it does not overcome the fragrance. Almost immediately the shower of citrus turns floral; white floral, with a distinct orange blossom, jasmine and lily. The white flowers are not those big huge white florals either. They are soft, light, sweet and delicate, resembling white petals of flowers dipped in water. Aquatic is another good description of this perfume. It's like a little waterfall. It wears on for like 2 hours and then gets into the dry down. The driest part of the scent is wood and patchouli. There could be a vanilla note thrown in there as well. But the woods are quite soft and the patchouli not as big as the vanilla. At the very end I am pick up on a note of clean white musk. This is a smooth, soapy, almost lactonic fragrance. It is like white floral soap with a milky white floral air that never gets heavy. If you like soapy florals and citrus florals as well as musks this is absolutely the best arrangement of all those notes in one perfume. The scent is meant to be worn casually or daily. It's office safe and can be worn to work in public. Nothing particularly glam or sophisticated. It's a day time spring/summer scent to put on after a shower and when you get dressed and head out on your day to day activities smelling clean and bright. I wish this lasted longer. I keep putting on more and more throughout my work day. It's also comforting and soothing and smells so good.

This perfume is way stronger than the Versace Vanitas EDT I have just reviewed. Dear, this is so strong on floral notes and patchouli! Pure essential oils of white lily! Once I have received this perfume it soon became one of my favourites, after the first spray actually! The dry down is also divine, a very clear and pronounced combination of oakmoss and patchouli. This is Oriflame at its best. Giordani Gold Original is the pure definition of a chypre. The mandarin at the beginning is a little off, but it disappears quite fast. Once we get to the heart of the composition we are greeted with a white beautiful lily. This would make a perfect special occasion perfume.

perfect! Mossy, earthy, woody smell, and it has this huge sileage which is not overwhelming, but very elegant and down to earth with a hint of flower breeze delight. Citrus only on the top, at the opening, but not as much developed further, or maybe it gets loss in the moss earth wood patchuli smell. I'd say this one is one of the rear smells that exudes elegance, maturity, still keeps it interesting

The bottle looks better, more beautiful more expensive and more elegant, the scent seems like the old but I think it's lighter and smoother, not sharp like the old one.

I am so confused this fragrance screams POWDER to me!! It's white floral no doubt, but also a very patchouli heavy dense powder. The combination of orange peels and oakmoss may translate to light airy fluffy to some noses, and i also get some of that, but the powder is just so intense that i could never wear this alone. Lately ive been layering it with lighter fragrances such as VS bombshell and they somehow work together well. This way the florals and citruses take the centre stage while the powder is now just a subtle side character without losing the original Giordani dna. It may sound like i don't even like this fragrance, but quite the contrary i find it to be a really unique and charming piece. It performs well and is versatile enough to layer with various types of fragrances. You just have to know how to wear it well. I say this will work for all seasons except for summer, but my best choices would be for early spring and early winter.

This is a very light edition of the old giordani gold ,soooo light that i sprayed it and disappeared immediately!and only a very little slight of the mandarin scent u can hardly smell,not becuz of many pple hated the old GG u can do that with the perfume Oriflame ! Ooof well that will satisfy them anyway, The old one is so strong ! Now um hesitated if i should try this

Generic, elegant, feminine smell. If you want something feminine but not sweet this could be it. I gave my mom my bottle because I found the fragrance more suitable for the 35+ age group.

I don't know what's the different betweem this & the old one "Giordani Gold" they are the same :(

This is a very elegant simple floral, rather sweet, and not at all old-style perfume. However, maybe it is more appropriate to an elegant lady in her 30s, 40s, than to a teenager, maybe this is why so many people consider it an old lady perfume. I did not like it when I was about 21-22, but I do now. I find it smells much more expensive than it actually is and it reminds me of the old version of Giordani Gold, but it is not the same. This one is a little bit more fresh and doesn't last as long, the older version was sweeter and deeper

For this price range this is absolutely gorgeous! It's sophisticated and elegant. Composition is quite classical. It doesn't have that "chemical waste" aftertaste like many cheaper and mass category fragrances. Floral, but not sweet or overwhelming. Definitely floral chypre due to that classy dry bitter drydown. I would go even so far that I would compare this one with Roja Dove's florals. Timeless beauty for someone who loves white flowers.

My kinda night perfume. Since I'm living in a tropical island, it doesn't suit with my everyday life to use this perfume in a hot shiny day. I prefer to use Giordani Gold for dinner or special occasion in the evening. The elegant and luxury smell were suit for that kinda occasion. This perfume is something that the ladies will choose, not for teenagers I think.

Does somebody know if the packaging is changed? I have the old bottle that is kinda like a triangle but upside down triangle and the bottle is huge, what is the new bottle? I want to buy it but there are like a thousands of Giordani Gold, i do not know wich one to buy It does smell a little like a soapy grandma but somehow i like it

My mom used to use this perfume and every time I sniff it I have a crazy flashback! I mean, this is so lovely, bit sweet but grown up sweet. It is musky, patchouli. I will repurchase one for my mom and one for me because it’s lovely scent.

Are they really bringing back the original composition from the 1980s? It used to be magnificent. In fact I much preferred it to the (rather nice) later substitution. That's good news!
