Giordani Gold White Original

There was a perfume in the Oriflame catalogues named Giordani White Gold, which came in a silver bottle with a silver cap. It was discontinued, I guess, because I haven't been seeing it in the catalogue for a long time, it was a complex and beautiful scent, maybe with a vintage vibe; it's what people generally call "grandma-old-perfume", a term that I personally hate. Giordani Gold White Original, God knows why they named it Original when clearly it's not the original, comes in a clearer looking bottle with almost the same scent. Which does come close to Rush Gucci. And in my opinion is tamer and less spicy than Rush. Lasts for about four or five hours. Oriflame themselves classify it as a chypre fruity floral, and judging by the scent I see what they were going for, but just to be more accurate, it's primarily a floral patchouli perfume with the occasional fruity tones. The combination of patchouli, moss and honeysuckle is just sensational. It's perfumey, there is nothing edible in here at all. A little balsamic, a touch of salty and marine, maybe fresh spicy. The moss in the drydown is so satisfying to smell, dry and bitter. Ladylike. Despite the relatively low price, they put on sale their perfumes quite often, it's not a cheap or tacky scent at all.

It's not last long like the old bottle. I hope that they change the bottle but keeping the old scent. Such a classic floral scent which my sister love most.

Giordani Gold White Original is a true gem from Oriflame. It is a re-packaging with slight reformulation of the good old Giordani White Gold. None other than master perfumer Thierry Wasser is the creator of GWG. Overall, GGWO remains true to GWG to a great degree if my memory serves me correctly. My review for both is very similar. GGWO starts strong with an abstract white floral bouquet with some fruity and patchouli undertones. That’s where it’s similarity to Gucci Rush lies. However, this resemblance lasts for only a couple of minutes on my skin. For me Gucci Rush is mainly peachy patchouli with plastiky undertones, none of which is very strong in GGWO. GGWO then softens to a creamy musky floral, and I can sense, a delicate rose 🌹 in this stage. The is most of GGWO stay and it resembles more Idylle EDP now, another creation by Thierry Wasser. The performance is on the better side of moderate. GGWO is an elegant, classy, musky floral with good performance by a master perfumer at an affordable price. Can one ask for more?

Not similar to gucci rush. Clearly scent.

I just can't feel it (tested in chilly weather, maybe hot would be different). Two big sprays overlapped, and there's nothing. A hint that there should be something but it should be 10x more concentrated, to got to the level of what I call perfume. On the other hand, quite literally, I sampled their Neon Oud, which unsurprisingly smells like linear uncomplicated oud. So, feeling playful, I sprayed GG White on top. The result was actually very nice, it gave some complexity to the oud, a sparkle that wasn't there before. Not enough to change the base perfume, but enough to add a new facet. Therefore, I draw the conclusion that GG White can be layered on stronger perfumes. However, for the price point, it remains a backup solution to help finish the bottle, rather than a selling point.
