Giordani Gold Woman Eau de Parfum

When I was a teen I loved the classic Giordani Gold. I haven't seen it for many years. I doubted that this one would be the same but I found it very reduced, for 15 eur, so I decided to give it a chance. And oh, yes! I didn't have high hopes but I have to say, this IS the Giordani Gold from my teens! They haven't ruined the scent or the quality. A radiant white floral, deep and warm, no sharp notes. Smooth, clean, gracious, immaculate. Suitable for any occasion, office-friendly. Reminds me of Avon's Rare Pearls. Rare Pearls is the cleaner, crisper one, while GG is warmer and deeper. Decent durability and projection. I prefer it for moderate weather, not too hot or cold. Luxurious and expensive-looking packaging, great for a gift. I get lots of compliments for it from both men and women at work.

Perfumes that remind me very much of my family home. Giordani Gold has been my mother's favorite perfume for over 20 years. Over the years, the fragrance has undergone several changes in terms of both the appearance of the bottle and its composition, but my mother still has the most controversial and strongest version from 2002. So I can compare what the scent was like in the past and what it is like today. My mother, of course, regrets that it is not the same and I have to agree with her, because the old GG was an intoxicating and for many people even overwhelming aroma of tons of white flowers with a lot of patchouli and moss. It was a very cold, metallic scent, with a masculine note. The new Giordani Gold Woman still has the spirit of that aroma, you can immediately feel the preserved core of the older composition, but the scent is noticeably changed and I think it should have been slightly modernized to save this classic from being withdrawn. The modern interpretation of GG, although almost the same as the old version, does not sound so retro, it has been modernized and slightly softened. The most important difference is the addition of sunny notes in the new version, thanks to which the fragrance sounds surprisingly light. It became very spring-like, bright and sunny. A bouquet of white flowers is still intoxicating, strong and not for everyone, but it is no longer overwhelming with its power. The notes lacked tuberose, which was probably added in a huge concentration in the old GG, which made the aroma a bit cloying. There are also more citrus fruits which add freshness and enhance the impression of the scent, perfect for spring and not too hot summer evenings. It is no longer so cold and metallic, and the masculine element has also decreased. Unlike GG from 2002, I only see this current version on a woman. Of course, she must like white flowers in a retro style. The fragrance suits a strong, self-confident woman, not necessarily mature, but very self-aware. I also see it as a fragrance for all business meetings, because it is a composition that creates a certain distance. The parameters are not as strong as they used to be, but it's not bad. The scent stays on the skin for 7-8 hours, and the projection is initially high, but after an hour it decreases to more moderate. The bottle is nice, slim, elegant and, finally, handy. This time they decided on a more compact form and this is a big plus, the previous slim bottle with a huge cork did not work very well. I'm glad that Oriflame, instead of withdrawing the slightly outdated composition, cleverly adds a bit of modern molecules thanks to which fans of this classic and slightly retro fragrance can enjoy it without much loss. 7/10

An intriguing fragrance. In the opening, it presents as a sunny floral—elegant, classic, and true to the genre. And yet, after a moment, the lily reveals a touch of its own weight: slightly heady, with a sensual, almost fleshy warmth. As the fragrance unfolds, this sultry nuance gradually softens, and in the base it returns to a calmer, more classic sweetness of white florals. Longevity is very good, with sillage that leans from moderate toward intimate. It brings to mind the image of a mature woman in a conservative jacket—someone you pass by and suddenly feel a sense a quiet, magnetic sensuality beneath her composed exterior.

It has a citrusy opening that dries down to a soapy vintage white floral.
