Rose Mode

Julie Noe, a junior perfumer at Givaudan, does with this perfume what a creator does with a handmade decorative object. He imagines it first of all, then puts things together with artistic feeling and achieves something that only he can achieve. Rose Mode is a different way of looking at the rose. It has two types of rose, naturally rendered: the red, velvety one and the pink, wild one. The construction of the perfume is something like this: you take the notes of iris, violet, leather and sandalwood, in more discreet doses and link them into a net that will support the main notes. This foundation of the perfume is slightly powdery, floral, woody and creamy and is prepared to contain the two types of rose, the osmanthus with a more intense apricot aroma and the unique note of green plums. A renglote plum, still unripe, with a slightly greenish core, translucent and juicy. Mmmm.... The perfume doesn't experimenting significant transformations from spraying to the last accords but this is not a defect from my point of view because I want it that way. The very high quality ingredients, the niche scent make this creation similar to those in the luxury lines of mainstream brands. And I'm not exaggerating! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This composition is an ode to the rose, which resonates throughout the fragrance’s duration. It opens smoothed by sweet notes of honeyed osmanthus and juicy plum. Gradually, the rose asserts itself more strongly, settling in the base on very subtle woody accords and an almost imperceptible hint of leather. It is a rose that is sweet, prominent, and powerful, yet well-balanced between the syrupy weight of boudoir noir roses and the brisk freshness of a garden bloom. Expertly constructed, these perfumes offer all-day longevity on fabric with a pronounced sillage. For rose enthusiasts, this composition is truly worth discovering!

As a devoted rose lover, I'm always eager to try beautiful. It's a soft, powdery rose with delicate leathery nuances that give it a refined, slightly sophisticated edge without becoming dark or challenging. What surprised me most was an unusual cool facet that reminds me of menthol and salty licorice—a curious, almost aromatic twist that I can't quite identify, but it keeps the composition interesting and prevents it from becoming just another pretty rose. Once it settles after the first few minutes, Rose Mode stays fairly linear. Fortunately, I enjoy the drydown enough that I don't mind the lack of evolution. The biggest disappointment is the performance. On my skin it fades much faster than I'd expect, especially considering its premium positioning. At this price point, I would have hoped for at least several hours of noticeable wear. It also reminds me quite a bit of the sadly discontinued Grès Lumière Rose, a fragrance I enjoy even more. While they're not identical, they share a similar elegant, powdery rose character that immediately brought Lumière Rose to mind. Since that one is becoming increasingly difficult to find, Rose Mode might just become my substitute—even if I wish it lasted a little longer.

Velvety rose lifted by synthetics. Smells high-quality, but is not really that interesting or alluring. Quite unisex for a rose scent. Very textured as well, feels velvety or silky, kind of like touching a delicate flower petal, but the perfume itself is far from a delicate floral, it has presence to it and a well constructed heavy base. I can respect the craftsmanship and how things come together, but it feels quite soulless to me and surprisingly cold for it's composition.

Fresh clean white rose - not the typical Rose fragrance. Musky and powdery as it dries down. Long lasting powder skin scent, Intrigued how it’s gonna be perceived being the 1st Niche release from Oriflame along with Neon Oud - part of Top Scents series.
