Shedonism

It's an interesting scent that smells somehow fresh but at the same time vintage.... I honestly smell a closet full of velvet jackets where someone put a scented bag of citrus. I really like the smell, although I can't necessarily describe it... if you find it try it it's unique. Someone was talking about the jungle and the tropics ... I don't feel it honestly, who knows the smell of velvet especially the old one without various combinations of polystyrene and things, that is 70% of the fragrance vibe. For those who regret it and love it try S de Scherrer by Jean-Louis Scherrer, vintage too, but can also be found in physical stores and especially in the online ones.

Origins made some great fragrances before the line was downsized and Shedonism is one of them. The whole angle is based around the Island of She. The fragrance itself is a thick heady mix of white flowers that smells like gardeania, hibiscus and vanilla. It's all very balmy and exotic - oddly sexy as well in a mature sort of way. When I wear it I almost feel that I've been annointed with flowers and some natives are hiding just around the corner with the intention of throwing me into the nearest volcano!

I purchased Aerin Gardenia Rattan to supplement my original Shedonism perfume as per a suggestion on this site. Take my word for it that Gardenia Rattan is NOTHING like Shedonism, not even close! YUK! Waste of money!

If you are a fan of this now defunct fragrance then check out the new-ish Aerin Lauder release Gardenia Rattan. Not spot on but very, very close. No suprise really, as Origins is part of the Lauder group.
