Tubéreuse Ninon de Lenclos

When I smelled this perfume during the test run, I knew it was over. My long search for the perfect tuberose scent was finally over. (Of course, I never know what the future holds...) I've tried many tuberose perfumes, and Dorin's tuberose was the best for me, but that status has now changed. (Dorin's scent is truly wonderful and made with the best ingredients, but if I were to find a flaw, it lacked a bit of complexity.) I thought this was what it meant to feel like I was on cloud nine. It felt like a combination of the previously released Marions Nous and Secret Joly, with the impurities removed, resulting in a clean, deep bouquet of white flowers. And it's not typical tuberose scent made with coconut, peach, and greenery. It's so beautiful, and the longevity is astonishingly long. Because it's an extract, it's gentle and never shouts. I want to bask in this scent for a while.

It’s hard to comment on anything in this fragrance other than the luscious, glowing, heady tuberose, which has an almost salty and certainly buttery quality (and thus _somewhat_ reminds me of Madonna’s Truth or Dare). Neither tame nor feral; indolically suggestive rather than dirty. I disagree with the review below that Tubéreuse Ninon de Lenclos reads as a combination Marions-Nous and Secret Joly, as the former is all about aldehydic floral powder, and the latter is a much more solar, nasal, white-purplish floral. This is far more weighty and full-bodied, possessing a much more dreamy, languid energy. Billowy, warm, expansive, and almost punchy, the scent lasts and lasts. Expensive and worth every centime.
