Star Of The Season

I went to review this fragrance and was looking at the notes on this page and was puzzled because I smelled none of that. I saw in the reviews here that the notes are totally different. From the Orlov website: A woody oriental accord Top notes: Neroli, dates, plum Heart notes: White cedar wood, ambrette Base notes: Tonka bean absolute, vanilla, labdanum I think I am in love with neroli. I was not familiar with the smell until this perfume. The way they mixed this fragrance is beautiful. I love the spiciness balancing the sweetness of date/plum. And the wood is softly supporting underneath those notes. The ambrette and labdanum also help bolster the woody yet musky and lightly sweet profile. I think Star of the Season perfectly encapsulates what I love in perfumes, and I love that this could be good on a man or a woman. This reminds me of digging around in an old cedar chest, going through my keepsakes from years past. Cookies are being baked in the oven and a fresh pine Christmas tree is fragrant from nearby. Spiced oranges are being boiled on the stove in the kitchen. Maybe the notes aren't quite lining up, but that is just the scene I am creating in my mind. Because of that, I would tend to associate this scent with the Holidays and I think it would be a lovely fall/winter scent. But I would probably wear it any time anyway. I am absolutely going to use this entire sample quickly and probably order a full bottle. I love it so much.

The notes list surprised me. I have a travel spray from MaxAroma of Orlov Star of the Season. I really love it! It's a "dressy" sort of smell to me. Black velvet dresses and pearls for the symphony. Or maybe (and somewhat conversely) I am reminded of a professor I used to have in college who was always way too busy and smelled of sandalwood, papers, and something vaguely oily. For me the opening is so unique, it's powdery in a "papery" way, like opening a giant pack of printer paper, dry, but quickly something floral tickles my nose, probably violet. The dry down, on my skin is rich sandalwood and ice-creamy vanilla bean. There is a hint of saltiness I can't put my finger on. I don't smell patchouli or rose (I like patchouli but I don't care for rose too much). Overall I really love it. I actually found it sort of hard to describe, it doesn't really smell like anything else. I really like it and could see myself wearing it to a fancy restaurant after a night at the symphony. I wouldn't wear it early on a long hot summer day, as it could be cloying. Also projection and longevity are excellent. If it wasn't so expensive, I'd spring for a fb to wear on special occasions.

It's a powdery/iris vanilla sweetness, very much enjoyable. Like a bit toned down version of their Flame of Gold which is especially luxurious and even sweeter and better with an additional leather tone. Having smelt these two sweet scents by Orlov Paris it smells like they know how to do sweetness right. For comparison, Trussardi's Pure Jasmine was also incredibly sweet but unbearable to me and besides, with no jasmine. I've smelt other sweet scents too but none of those, not even Chanel's No. 5 (which is a bit different direction anyway but still sweet), compares to the perfect sweetness made by Orlov Paris. I could never really thought I'd ever like sweet scents but there you go, Guerlain's L'Homme Ideal (2014 original and some others of this line) being another such example.

My word! This stuff is absolutely stunning! Yes, it's feminine as it gets but still somehow palatable. The opening is a tropically sweet, exotic, fruit floral which mellows into more of a rounded vanilla as it settles. This has to be the conspiracy of orange blossom fruity and uplifting without the usual waxiness and the powder and character of delicate iris both of which are present. There's a hinted at chunkiness of patchouli too as it dries down but largely it's that vanilla and sandalwood and iris left at the base. It vaguely reminds me of a exotic, femme florientals the likes of a Black orchid but much softer, warmer and although sweet, still less cloying. It's honestly not for me to wear but I really enjoyed the sweet opening.

Oh my, this is a beauty right here. Perfect combination of the most delicate and delicious vanilla and sandalwood. I am very particular about vanilla fragrances and this is precisely the kind I like. It doesn't smell like Dries Van Noten but it is in the same ball park and that is one of my all time favorite vanilla fragrances. And I am now adding Star of the Season to the list. True beauty right here. Dominique Ropion got my attention when I heard he did this line. And even though this is the first fragrance from Orlov I have tried, my expectations have been met with this one for certain. I can't wait to try the others. 5 star vanilla fragrance for me!

Orlov Paris is one of the most luxurious brand I ever came across. The fragrances is so wonderful and well blended. The concept is very luxurious too. They are high end frangrance and expensive but it's worth every penny invested. If you wanna quality and want to be excluvise you must invest some more money. The bottle and the box are so minimalistic and lovely. Star of the Season is the real star of the brand it's a beautiful composition slight gourmand, creamy and spice that turns it very sexy and unisex too. The longivity is excelent and the projection is moderate to good. Overall it's a masterpiece fragrance. Worth check it out this house.

Star of the Season is a beautifully elegant fragrance. It is long lasting, but never bold or overly dominant. It is slightly powdery sandalwood/iris with vanilla for smoothness. The defining note is a very subtle but always persistent iris, giving the dominant sandalwood and vanilla a bit of character and refinement. I don't normally associate fragrances with color, but this one really reminds me of a light purple / mauve. This is a classy and professional scent - but certainly not stuffy or old-school. A modern and refined fragrance that would would work well in any season.

LOVE~ This fragrance is Toblerone in a candy bar world. This could be part of the Carner Barcelona fragrance line. I see where they were going with the comparisons to Angel Share & Alexandrie (but this is not a clone/dupe). The notes create an amber-vanilla harmony: yummy sort of plummy. A unisex delight. 1-2 hours Projection is solid, 3-4 slowly dying down, 5+ hours becomes Intimate Affair, I still get whiffs - barely there. I REALLY enjoy this fragrance it is so smooth and relaxing.

#656 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vanilla. The anchor notes of an endless sea of scents. But if you add orange blossoms and iris it's a lot less boring. My first Orlov bottle buy was "Red Star" which indeed it is, so I got sprayettes of several more of their scents and this is my second Orlov scent, and will be my second full bottle purchase. Good longevity and moderate projection. Versatile for any use. Reasonably priced. It's a winner!

Ive had this perfume for more than a year now, and it is safe to say that this is one of my favourite vanilla+sandalwood+patchouli combo. On me this is spicy, chocolatey.. balsamic, so intoxicating. Projection and longevity is also amazing on my skin.. rarely wear this as this is something that should be worn with something classy & black. But each time i wear it, feels like loving myself more & more, everytime.. dont know how to explain.

Tried the Star of the Season last week and absolutely fell in LOVE!! the bottle is beautiful, the fragrance is a perfect mixture of vanilla and a warm woody scent. Best part was it lasted the entire day and into the evening as well. I cant wait to treat myself to the next one in the collection for the Holiday Season.

First of all, this fragrance was created by Quentin Bisch. Second, the notes are completely different from these ones. Top notes: Neroli, dates, plum Heart notes: White cedarwood, oakwood, amber Bottom notes: Labdanum, vanilla, tonka bean absolute Third, this is a tonka bomb.

Got some sprays of Star Of The season at Bergdorf Goodman. This is the kind of perfume I love, it is so warm and it last so long. Sandalwood is clearly becoming more noticeable after few hours; I might buy it for winter

ok, no no no to all the comparisons, specially musc ravageur the closest to this i can think of is VCA bois dore which is so obvious i'm surprised nobody else has mentioned this is a nutty (tonka/almond combo) powdery vanilla, sweet, i get a boozy quality up top or a warm spice of some kind, like cinnamon, that gives the opening a bit of a kick i do not get any iris, but i do get some pretty florals just don't know exactly what they are (maybe some pink, maybe some white) it is woodsy, but mildly, the wood gives it a dry quality and a dense texture, it has a lot of substance i also get musk, which is not listed overall, it's one of those perfumes that cannot be imagined based on the notes but the closest comparison imp would be VCA bois dore

first off, the notes here don't match the notes on the carded sample (which differ from notes someone listed below as well.) my sample says the notes are as follows: neroli, dates, plum, white cedarwood, ambrette, tonka bean, vanilla, labdanum. if i go by fragrantica's notes, i vote vanilla/sandalwood/iris highly. i think i can smell those. but going by the list on the sample i'd say i am getting dates, ambrette, tonka, vanilla mostly, with some plum. it's a very cushy scent-you can sink into it. fairly sweet but a hint of plum/rum booziness. i like this but i think it needs something less sweet to round it out.

The notes listed on Fragrantica are wack! This fragrance rings true to the notes listed on the card that came with my sample: Top: Neroli, dates, plum Heart: White Cedarwood, ambrette Base: Tonka bean absolute, vanilla, labdanum It gives Tobacco Vanille vibes. Cozy, fall, warm, smooth, a little sweet, very unisex and attractive. Yeah, I dig it!

This starts out a little more complicated than I like but it mellow out into something sweet and elegant. I smell chocolate in that patchouli but more subtle than Angel's classic mix. The sandalwood and iris (orris? Its powdery and only screechy in the opening) The vanilla is sweet and delicious and kind of neutral

I've owned this before and the other reviews to a great job summarizing this fragrance (plummy, heavy iris, etc.). I just want to say that this smells NOTHING, 0% similarity to Angels' Share. ZERO.
