Really lovely spicy, juicy scent that would be great to wear anywhere. I definitely get a spicy bergamot opening which settles and then I get the rose and sandalwood. A peppery kick from the freesia and then the Amber gris being the bedrock of this beauty. The citrus/cardamom/rose notes wain quite a bit and the sandalwood and Amber gris hold the fort until it finally fades. It does have above average longevity on me in this cool environment. It's the fact that the cardamom and rose fade relatively quickly that prevents me going fb. I think these notes are pivotal in making this such a lovely scent.

I was walking through Selfridges, manchester perfume department , well not through exactly as my perfume passion would not allow that . A lovely lady gave me a card with a scent from Ormande Jayne ,Ambre Royal . I fell for the strong notes so I went over to Ormande Jayne counter . The lady who sprayed card who got my undivided attention was at counter as well as a young man , passionate about Ormande Jayne “one” . When I smelt this I was intoxicated , even though Ambre Royal was the one to introduce me to this amazing perfumer it was the “one” who won me over . I own over 300 plus perfumes but this is the only perfume brand that I will actually put money to one side for , it will be well worth expense , I have done a lot of research on this brand especially being British . The passion and quality shine through .

"One" is a remarkable feat of olfactory magic. It starts off on my skin as a brilliant, almost crystalline cloud of top notes that continues sparkling long after it should have disappeared. It's a cold, almost icy vibe. But underneath, buried close to my skin, simmers a warmer, softer version of the perfume's notes. Then the magic happens -- the iciness melts, the warmth chills, and the two layers fuse into, well, One. Never in my decades of perfumery have I experienced a perfume that split so clearly and merged so perfectly. I'm still debating whether the finale is a scent I can live with, but the journey was fantastic.

I wish there were some reviews about this perfume but then I can't complain since I actually own and love it but still find it very very difficult to describe. The notes list is not long but it seems much more complex than this would suggest. The sandalwood appears extra creamy, layered, swathed and surrounded by notes I cannot pin down although I do get the - yet to be mentioned - ambergris as there is real salty note too .. sorry not to be more help.....

I love this. It's so fresh and different and I adore the bite of cardamom, BUT...it doesn't last! Like almost every Jayne Ormonde on me, it does not last. It's a little salty with some slight sandalwood, citrus and freesia. I don't get any jasmine or rose. If only it lasted I would try to hunt down a bottle in a heartbeat.
