Osmanthus Elixir

I love Ormonde Jayne and now have 8 of their scents. The Elixirs are all very potent, super strong and very well reformulated to handle the higher concentration. however, they all tend to smell a bit the same and, except if you have the money and like subtle differences, i would pick one of the Ormonde Elixir- Royal, Ormonde, Osmanthus. Again, really love them all but they are kinda similar.

Sweet, tangy burst of photorealistic citrus. Fresh, airy, uplifting.🧚🏼 Exiting, even. The promise of a day brimming w/ sunshine & happiness + a light sun shower that makes everything sparkle & paints a rainbow. 🌞✨🌈

It smells like slightly fruity hair spray, but in a good way. I prefer the regular OJ Osmanthus.

I get mossy wood, sweet citrus, airy pollen, and a tangy balsamic accord, all mingling together in peculiar harmony. At first, Osmanthus Elixir's prominent woodiness jostles against its sweet-fruity/fresh-floral aspect, with very little cohesion between the two. The davana note in particular stands out strongly to my nose, giving the composition a mossy, mulchy greenness that's quite distinctive. However, once it dries down a bit, a white-bar-soap note emerges (clean musk), and the creamy zestiness of it works perfectly to meld all the disparate elements into a cohesive whole. It's a slightly odd but overall elegant fragrance. A little bit feminine - but puckish. It makes me think of Hunger by Florence & The Machine, or the Met Gala with a Hans Christian Andersen theme.

Not exactly 1:1 but it is reminiscent of osmanthus tea. This fragrance smells nice to me but it's spoken as someone who is deeper into the fragrance rabbit hole than someone casually wanting to smell good. How this fragrance is perceived can be heavily impacted by your mindset and expectations going into it. To me it comes off as pleasant floral but tad too powdery. To laymen who aren't into fragrance, if they smell this, it may come across as a mature feminine frag. I do agree it's fem leaning but definitely wearable as a guy.

I managed to purchase my bottle in the Harrods sale. What a snip! So flipping lucky It opens as a joyous, happy scent. Citrus and golden. You can detect a warm fruity background. Not really that much osmanthus really but the whole is pretty gorgeous anyway Slowly the bitterness of devana peeks through. Just a wee bit. It is a unisex fragrance. Bright, yet a touch bitter with a warm resin heart to fortify it. Impressive longevity and sillage in a 11 degree temp room. I look forward to wearing it during warmer days.

You're a frozen water lily, extracted from an icy pond. You're a teenager trying on Axe Body Spray for the first time, shivering near the poolside. You're a spoonful of chilled grapefruit at breakfast, sampled too soon after brushing your teeth. Osmanthus Elixir by Ormonde Jayne.

Holy cow this is fantastic! This is very evocative and transporting fragance. I'm just having a blast wearing it. Juicy, very accurate representation of osmanthus. Little spicy and breezy, but lasting. Still need to compare this to the regular non-elixir version, but so far this is a huge winner from the house.

Best fresh scent opening in the fragrance game. I imagine this is how the Garden of Eden would smell like. Citrus/floral perfection with iso e-super backbone, which creates the airiness and projection. Smells extremely natural. 10/10 masterpiece, and I'm glad not many people know about it.
