Tanger

I love citrus fragrances but typically have some serious longevity and projection issues (with fragrances in general but citruses in particular). With this one however, I am surrounded by my own scent bubble for a couple of hours, in high heat and humidity. As for the scent - it is both cheerful and relaxing, sparkling and mellow, energizing and soothing. It is quite linear throughout the wear, which I actually really appreciate - it's rare for me to be able to smell the citruses pop off of my skin hours into the dry down. Slightly spicy, and ambery-floral in the mid/base and overall quite mouth watering. It strikes the perfect balance between the mandarin and neroli - zesty, juicy, watery and crisp. Nothing comes off as sour or green. The rose and ylang ylang round off the edges beautifully and I suspect the cashmeran is what makes this one sparkle on my skin (I'll have to look into this molecule further) I'm a woman who typically goes for more unisex and masculine leaning fragrances - and to my nose this is a feminine leaning fragrance. I find Tanger to be a perfect addition to my humble collection and an incredible spring-summer scent. Top notch perfumery, the quality is definitely there.

AMBER Tanger - Sweet, Warm & Spicy Orange Perfume - Signature Scent All Year Round The amber is strong in this one, but it holds the citrus notes well, gives this perfume its longevity, moderately- strong sillage, and also adds some spice to this scent, similar to cinnamon. This one is like a light and bright version of MFK Grand Soir because of the heavy amber. The opening starts out with bright, sweet, and juicy orange and citruses. About 1-2 min in, is where the perfume embodies BR540, having a light airy sweetness for the rest of the dry down. But the mid notes and base notes are more prominent in comparison. Though the citrus and sweetness is mixed with it, this scent leads with amber in the dry down. Further in the dry down, you can also pick up a very light and creamy, vanilla, almost nutty note from the amber during this time. It's quite lovely actually and addictive. The deeper dry down is amber-y and sweet. I loooooove this one. It has my heart at the moment. High quality and luxurious perfume 👌🏻 This one is unique. 9.5/10

This is a forever love. I crave this scent. Good for everyday wear. Office friendly. Compliments. I guess there is an element similar to BR540 if I look for it, but it is so very different overall with the bright citrus notes in the opening that peek through for the rest of the wear. As it dries down I get more of the amber and floral, and it is very natural smelling and grounding. This has a bright and sunny character overall, but dries down smooth. I’ve heard people say OJ Levant is happiness in a bottle, and, while this smells very similar in some ways, I find this lasts longer and projects better. Love love love.

I just received this perfume. I managed to buy 40% off, and it was well worth for it. I was hoping I don‘t get too much BR540 vibe as I don‘t like the latter one. However, it reminds me more of Solar Blossom from Mizensir, the sweet orange blossom that is present in both. Solar Blossom is fresher, more appropriate for spring and summer, this one leans more end of summer - summer evening - Indian summer (warmer September) time! It‘s quite addictive! Projection quite good until 3-4 hours after it‘s transforming to skin scent on me. I agree with the person below that it‘s orange cotton candy!

Interestingly, my perception of this scent is entirely different to the previous reviewer! For me, this is a sweeter, more powdery take on Dior's Pure Poison, mixed with Sucre d'Ebene by Pierre Guillaume. It's a sultry, sexy, creamy white floral, which definitely revolves around neroli but in a decadent, ambery, syrupy way. I find this a bit of a bombshell scent, and would wear it with abandon if my partner didn't find it heavy. However, I plan to work on that - it's too good. Perfect for summer nights, through Autumn, and to keep you warm in winter.

This smells like earl grey tea with mandarins. I was wearing this fragrance today in a hot weather and enjoyed every minute of it. In the opening you get sweet tangerine-neroli note that gives you happiness and joy. After some time you feel sophisticated tea scent, but this is not freshly brewed tea. It’s more of a dried loose earl grey tea leaves right from the tea bag. There’s some sort of dryness to it that don’t let this fragrance lean fully feminine. It is very luxurious high quality unisex tea scent.

All I can say is WOW. This was a blind buy that I felt pretty confident doing because the notes are right up my alley and I was on the hunt for a new, fun signature scent for the summer time and it’s definitely safe to say I found it. Take your favorite neroli/creamy sweet dna(love don’t be shy, oriana, memo paris) and add a pinch of a BR540 vibes to it and this is what you get with this beautiful fragrance. If you’re into sweet neroli scents you must get your nose on this, I can’t recommend it enough!

This is a fresh bergamot centric fragrance. Everything else just revolves around it. Very nice blend of citrus floral opening. There are hints of rose and amber, but woody note and green moss dominate the drydown. Longevity is good and sillage is enormous. Thank you Ormonde Jayne.

Really beautiful ambery vanilla with floral and woody notes! For me it’s definitely a fragrance I could see myself wearing in the fall. Does lean a little sweet to my nose and I would say unisex to feminine leaning. But it’s a love for me!

A cologne version of BR540! Opens citrus fresh and dries down to a creamy vanilla and amber mix! The neroli lurks in the background,and is ever so subtle. Really surprised with the performance as it stayed on me for more than eight hours.

Warm, resinous, vanillic citrus white floral combination. One of my favorite profiles and this one is done very nicely. Not at all too sweet.

Very unisex but pulls more masculine on me. Upon first spray there is a prominent, yummy mandarin note ( that sticks around for the dry down). I did not get any rose. Seconds later I had to recheck the notes because I smelled incense similar to nag champa... after 30 mins or so the oakmoss and resins sit fairly loudly on my skin. The opening has a touch of LDBS/Sintra but again it pulls slightly masculine very quickly with my chemistry making it a very unisex option compared to the others. I do not get any baccarat vibes whatsoever and am convinced that has become the default "reminds me of" go to. It must be the amber some people are relating it to. The only thing I don't care for in this fragrance is that the musk appears very sporty on my skin (I'm guessing it's the cashmere wood). For this reason alone I'm giving my sample to my fiancé bc I think I'd rather smell it on him. Clean, relaxing and non linear fragrance. Pretty, but nothing to write home about. It falls under the category of 'gets the job done' - so hardly something I consider worth spending that much money on. It's a nice, fresh, clean citrusy perfume with soft-to-moderate projection and longevity, and it progressively becomes more and more neroli-focused. The neroli is the crisp and clean kind (a la Neroli Portofino / 4711, not the powdery, creamy type a la Reflection Man / Fleur du Male). It starts with almost pure tangerine, then the bergamot kicks in, and a couple of minutes in, the neroli starts to bloom and drowns most other notes out. Very nice for sure, and as a neroli lover I'd certainly wear it if it was gifted. But I wouldn't buy this - too expensive for both the fragrance itself and the performance.

Being a fan of Ormonde Jayne's Levant, it's hard for me to articulate how Tanger differs. There is a very, very slight vegetal fecundness to the citrus accord (but maybe that just comes from the neroli). Think of an overripe orange that's been cut in half and left out in the afternoon sun. Amber and cashmere wood lend themselves to a calming warmth, almost like a woolly glove over the sprightlier orange note. Like Levant, there is a lotion-like creaminess at the heart of the scent, and in that respect Tanger almost reminds me of a more subdued Mojave Ghost. Run-time on the skin is about 5-6 hours for me, with a more modest projection.

Its interesting that people describe this as orange creamsicle or cotton candy. On my skin I get an orange spice vibe that seems perfect around the winter holidays. At first spray, I get that burst of citrus, which is quickly replaced by bitter petitgrain, and then settles into a somewhat sweet vanilla dominated by resiny spices. I did not get any neroli or other florals, just warmth and a quiet elegance. I don't like overly sweet fragrances, so the balance on this one is just right. Give it a try if you like subtle, elegant spicy-fruity fragrances that won't punch your neighbors in the face.

For me this is not sweet at all.. i get dry brown slightly citrus and papery woodyness. There are faint whiffs that float by after a while but it is not sweet or orangy but dry, airy, papery. Definitly unisex.

Very faint and I need a LOT more to really judge. I can barely smell it, but what I do get once I move my nose to my wrist is a warm, soft creamsicle pudding. It's nice just wish it had more projection!

Somehow I smell honey in this perfume. It's nice. Sweet, floral, citrusy and uplifting. Good for Spring and summer.

Full bodied, rich neroli and amber scent. Heavy on the amber, but not woody. Overall leans feminine.

Tanger has two distinct stages on my skin. The first half is all about a slightly bitter, citrusy neroli with a waxy ylang ylang. It smells fresh, clean, classy, and borderline soapy, with ZERO sweetness. It’s very masculine up close and it’s not something I enjoy on myself but would love on my husband. In the second half of the fragrance the pendulum swings into a cheerfully sweet vanillic, amber citrus with a gentle whisper of woods. Nice, and also not for me, but certainly reads much more feminine in this stage. I’ve never experienced such a dichotomous fragrance! The quality, sillage, and performance are definitely there. Sample before you buy.

Ho-hum. Just kind of a meh amber fragrance. I get the comparison to BR 540. Don't get much of the citrus or floral notes. Pretty boring.

I love Levant so so so very much. But I am not loving Tanger. I got a sample at Neimans yesterday because I thought if I love Levant so much, surely this will be similar. There is a baby powder, deodorizer smell in this that I do not care for. I can't put my finger on it, but I feel like im having a scent memory of like a church nursery or daycare...or the smell of a house where there's a baby and a small toddler. Its room deodorizer masking a diaper pail. Im jealous of everyone who loves this.

this smells SO BAD. like a smoker’s car. it started out bitter and citrusy but quickly became musky and suffocating. i’m disappointed.

First Impressions: I love Citrus, Neroli, Orange Blossom and Amber- why did it take me so long to try this?! I’ve sampled and owned lots of scents in this family and Tanger is top tier! Gorgeous spiced, citrusy neroli with a warm, clean, ambery base. Firmly unisex. None of these smell the same, but I’ll add this for anyone considering sampling: Immediately I thought of Stellar Times, although Tanger is denser and more complex. Safanad is my spring/summer signature and Tanger feels like it could be a good fall/winter alternative. And then there’s Classique- more feminine, powdery and vintage but a similar concept. I do understand the ‘smoker/cigarette’ references; I get that in Classique as well. To me, this doesn’t have any sweet ‘vanilla custard’, ‘pudding’ or dessert nuances. If you’re looking for that, try Lost in Paris.

Ordering Ormonde Woman at OJ website, a choice of four samples was offered and this is the first one I tried upon arrival. It is perhaps most similar to Elie Saab Le Parfum (of which I own a full bottle). Tanger is more well balanced and refined because I occasionally find Le Parfum almost too heavy and stifling. Tanger's neroli/vanilla/citrus/amber is akin to Le Parfum's honeyed orange blossom/jasmin/wood. I assume many will find both quite sweet and juicy. Different from the usual austere style of OJ I like, but still a joy to wear.

I was expecting this to be an aromatic fresh neroli based on the reviews but for me, it is predominantly a very sweet orangey amber with very little neroli. It is nice but I was looking for a neroli perfume and I got this as a replacement (blind) for a faulty perfume which I bought online. Whilst many people here experience this as a fresh neroli citrus, bear in mind it is clearly very changeable so don’t blind buy. Longevity is very good and projects pretty well. Unisex leaning feminine because it is pretty sweet (almost honey like).

Bottom end of a cocktail glass, mashed up citrus, a candied rind. Tanger asks us to find the zest, the burst of life in Negroni flavored kisses on a sunset beach walk, where scent molecules spill over into neurotransmitters. Of joy, of lust, of life. The juiciness turns herbal and smoky, but still clean and reverent. There’s nothing sloppy about this one, this isn’t a snaking line to the bathroom or terracotta terraced debauchery, but an orange groved Calabrian nuptial, where bergamots hang in the twilight, fecund and waiting.

If baccarat 540(I know so cliche) and Kilian sweet Redemption had a baby ,this would be it! Sweet neroli and ylang-ylang but has depth from oak moss and resins, a little ambery, just really beautiful.Im surprised how much I really like this.It definitely lasts long enough but projection is not real big IMO. I typically prefer big or louder frags , so I'll wait and pull my bottle out when the weather warms up ,I think it will work perfectly in Florida summer heat.

It is a bit heavy to be called citrus woody. When I first sprayed (and even after...along the whole day) I could feel some similarity with Baccarat Rouge. Not because they are so much alike, but because the idea I find the same. The whole impression is oriental rose, but if you listen to your nose carefully you detect the fruityness of the mandarin. Lasting power is OK, the sillage is weak but yet the smell is radiant

First blast of alcohol is strong. My nose feels burned for a minute. Then comes a long duration of enjoyable waxy and sweet neroli. Nice silage. Wafts of the smell are detectable with every body movement. There’s a sparkling effect similar to BR540 but the citrus in this makes it much more natural and less headache inducing. Leans heavily to the feminine imo. If you enjoy sweet neroli with decent power, this is it.

Very sharp at first, I think the Resin is throwing me off. Not a typical scent I wear and doesn't really invoke the summery beach vibes I was hoping for. Its more like the moldy scent of an old woman who smokes too much, and uses cheap laundry detergent. Not my cup of tea at all. The dry down was even worse and an amplification of said old woman. This is a definite no for me.

orange cotton candy😋kinda baffled that anyone is getting something bitter or masculine from this, it is 100% candied citrus to my nose😭 Note: I tested the 30% concentration "parfum" version exclusive to North America. I don't think the actual composition is different, but that might be why it reads sweeter and more ambery to me? Either way, I love it.

Nodding to all the comments here. Sometimes it gives me BR540 vibes, some other times it doesn't at all, it leans masculine on me but it can get feminine too, it's bitter and it's also sweet. Such a mystery how it's ever so changing. Only received it a week ago though. Maybe I should let it sit for a while? 🤔

Best from this house in my opinion. Like a nutty creamy sweetened yet fresh spicy neroli. Smells a bit like a middle eastern desert , maybe like baklava at first than turns more citrusy, cologney. It reminds me so much of Armani code cashmere that was discontinued, but a more unisex take on it. Need !!

I’m not getting any sweetness nor amber. Instead, I get neroli, dry woods and mossy bitterness. Beautiful, fresh, cool & collected, and pretty strong in staying power and sillage. Makes me think of Fleur Narcotique of all other fragrances.

Earl grey tea with orange slice, nice enough but the sprayer. was. amazing. A huge finely misted cloud appeared, briefly hanging in the air, then falling very slowly n weightlessly like the perfumery equivalent of Nijinsky. Best ever.

Musky with neroli & orange smell to it... basically the same type of neroli they use in everything and fairly accurate orange scent to it. Seems to be a fairly high oil concentration in this one, sprayed my skin and it's still oily.

Lovely for summer. I do sense something animalic in the opening. Citrus very present. To me it’s like Kouros layered with Light Blue. Best of both!

If you have ever been to Tangier that is this fragrance. Just beautiful. Properly named frag.

Nothing related to baccarat rouge...give it a try if you like citrusy fruity florals.
