Boccanera

A perfume that exceeded all my expectations, the best example of a situation where the notes of a perfume look boring, when in reality it turns out to be perfect. For me Boccanera smells like dark chocolate with slightly spicy notes, but this chocolate note was played beautifully, realistically, deeply. Perfect for night dates, suitable for going to restaurant, I think this fragrance would brings a lot of compliments, not to sweet, not bitter at all, just perfection on a bottle.To me, this fragrance sounds like a masculine Gentleman, just perfect for going out with company, dates, mostly for bars and restaurants, and maybe parties. I think this fragrance will go perfectly with golf, shirts, with a suit and personally I will wear it with a vintage leather coat. Is it worth its €145? Absolutely yes! Especially if you want to find something unique, intoxicating, and persistent. Of course, I categorically do not recommend buying any Ortho Parisi perfume without trying the remaining 8, although in principle I do not recommend buying anything until you have tried at least 250 perfumes or at least before the distribution of the fragrance, you need to know everything about it, persistence, trail, smell on the skin and final notes, for example, I bought Eros flame, spent about $80 on it, and over time I tried more fragrances and realized that there are many better fragrances for that money, I'm sad that I made a collection out of shit, because I didn't know good fragrances, although it's more about Сk perfume, because eros is still good, i still love it, but shock and in2u just make me regret where i spent my money. Everyone says this perfume smells like sweet shit... bullshit! This fragrance doesn't have any animalic notes, even a slight hint of animalistic notes, people like to disparage Alessandro Gualtieri's fragrances, I can't really say why... As always, I forgot to finish the review on time, so the continuation from this moment on will not be as rich or realistic as it could be, because I will write based only on memory. Maybe I will add text regularly, but then it will be marked that it has been changed or added. I was pleased with the persistence of the fragrance on paper, I won't say that it surprised me, but it's still pleasant. This perfume easily lived on paper for 4 days, then I forgot where it was, but I'm just sure that it still lasts. *There should have been a lot more text here, but I realized that it is selfless, and these are just paraphrased paragraphs with new details, which in fact do not add anything new(I still wrote all kinds of crap on top😭, sorry, I'm addicted to writing as much selfless text as possible)* Rating: SCENT: 9,5/10 SILLAGE: idk/8,5(i think)/10 LONGEVITY: 10/10 OVERALL: 9,4/10 ATTENTION: I can't really rate the scent so just know that this perfume is beautiful and I rate it 8.5/10 to 10/10 and it's firmly in the top 3 of all Orto Parisi.

I swear I'm an idiot! I could have sworn I ordered Terroni Orto Parisi, but no after spritzing just one single scoosh, I started to smell it, and the opening was very confusing to me, not in a bad way, I just couldn't make head nor tail of what I was smelling, but I smiled because I realised how well and cleverly done this fragrance is. I just laid back in the couch and started to smell, and it was as if I took a Xanax, it was so calming and comforting, even though the opening was harsh, but was still attractive. It felt like I was I was in a log cabin, and could barely hear the breeze outside, the fireplace emitting the only light in the room, and apart from the faint breeze outside, the crackle of the fireplace. Sitting ever so slowly sipping a gorgeous nice single malt and sniffing a cigar (no there is no tobacco I can detect, but it kinda felt like that). I then looked at the bottle and I'm like "it says Boccanera on the bottle" then I started cussing under my breath whilst I checked my order, and sure enough this idiot had ordered the wrong frag. Anyway, I'm not entirely sure why I was cussing under my breath, I have a bloody gorgeous frag here, then I saw the notes (funny how your mind plays tricks) then I realised why it vaguely reminded me off, Golden Dallah by Xerjoff, except this one is far more superior. This is as comforting if not more than Musc Ravageur, but at the other end of the spectrum from an olfactory point of view. This has led me to believe that there is more to discover from this line, because if I bought the wrong frag, and I loved it, then obviously the one I want will (I hope anyway) be even nicer, and megamare as well, and Coium is now on the table to be tried as well, that's 3 to try plus this one. Needless to say that so far I absolutely adore this frag. I've had 4 blind buys in a row go straight on to eBay, and I was a tad p***ed to say the least, but this has made up for that. Definitely FB worth, blind buy? maybe for the more mature nose? I wouldn't have liked this 20 years ago, so just a thought.

While other dark fragrances, like Parfums de Marly’s Carlisle or Tom Ford’s Oud Wood, may use their darkness to juxtapose or uplift, Boccanera embraces the mood. It doesn’t fight against the melancholy but amplifies it, creating a brooding, introspective atmosphere. It’s not a fragrance for everyone. Its unsettling beauty is polarizing, and for those who love the interplay of chocolate, pepper, and deep, earthy darkness, it’s an unforgettable experience. Gualtieri has once again created something that is both an art piece and a statement; a scent that lives on the edge of seduction and provocation.

Scent: The opening of this was intriguing and for the first minute or so I really regretted applying this. It had this sort of musty, slightly mouldy smell about it that didn’t make me gag, but certainly didn’t enamour me. I did keep smelling it though so it was slightly alluring in a weird way. Anyway, once the first minute was over, it became phenomenal. Addictive, moreish, dry chocolate scent with an animalic side and to me, a beautiful, prominent patchouli note. People who say this smells similar to Black Afgano are not wrong, but it is similar to Black Afgano in the same way that Episode 3 and Episode 5 of Star Wars are similar. Same idea but very different and beautiful in their own way. Scent is a genuine 10/10 to me, so beautiful, so unique. Longevity: I get between 8-12 hours of longevity. Not the longest performing fragrance of the Orto Parisi line but that’s a pretty hard comparison and it lasts longer than 99.5% of fragrances on the market. 9/10 longevity. Performance: This has a strong projection but will not choke out people around you. Enough to intoxicate someone but not enough to nauseate them. Perfect for a date in my opinion. 9/10. Overall, this fragrance gets a 9.5 out of 10. Scent gets 50% weighting whilst the other two components get 25% each. One of favourite fragrances of all time and arguably the best of the Orto Parisi line. Don’t listen to negative reviews here. They are weak 🥱

Boccanera is another great fragrance from the house of Orto Parisi. If you’re familiar with the creations of Alessandro Gualtieri, then you already know two things about Boccanera: (1) the ingredients are high quality and blended very well; and (2) this is not a mass-appealing, ubiquitous designer fragrance like Dior Sauvage, where you smell it everywhere and on everyone. What I smell is a complex combination of woody, spicy, and chocolaty notes, with maybe some hints of patchouli. There’s also a little pepperiness and a subtle sweetness. That said, this is not a gourmand fragrance at all in my opinion. This is a fragrance more appropriate for cold weather, fall, and winter. I recently attended a small gathering and had applied three sprays to different sides of my neck. I experienced about 12+ hours of longevity, or maybe even more. The sillage is strong. Interestingly, I felt like every time we went outside and came back inside, it seemed to reactivate and project even more than before. Don’t let a few negative comments stop you from trying this fragrance. Apply it to your skin and see how it develops.

Hello everyone, This will be my first proper review of a fragrance, and that's because I want to give the people like me (people that don't have much fragrance experience) some perspective: - Don't listen to everybody saying how strange, unsafe and so on Boccanera is. It is actually a very pleasant dark chocolate scent. - This is much more of a "safe" fragrances than the cloying designer overdosed vanilla fragrances that smell like you've poured liquid sugar all over yourself. (If you can wear Khamrah, 1 Million or SWY type of fragrance to the office, this one you can certainly rock too). - It projects well and lasts long, but at least on my skin it is not a "monster" (it lasts around 8-10 hours with strong projection the first 3-4), but because the initial projection is pretty strong i would advise you to go with 2-3 sprays and take the fragrance with you to top it off again after 7-8 hours if you are going to have a long day. Overall I love this fragrance. This muted sweetness makes it very wearable to me, it is also interesting and I just love to get whifs of it when I wear it.

As the weather took a twist so I pulled this beast today. As scent fills the colder days slot but believe me today its almost wintery summer and I felt a need to make myself and ambiance a lil cozy. This might give you a bit of black afgano so putting this in that way I would say this is ritzier, polarizing and deeper version of BA with more roundedness & bitterness of sweet dark chocolates but then you suddenly felt it, no man this is leaning to a totally different outlook & feels more sacral, loud, gaudy, and a tad fresh-faced. Just imagine yourself in very lonely immemorial building & surrounded by rich collection of paintings, an old hash box, woody sculptures, some sacred objects, raw ginger & dark coco powder laying somewhere on a grassy wet floor and pieces of century old furniture made from fragrant wood. All that yeasty feeling is really intriguing and quite original and sensual. There is something which is quite evident but seriously I am unable to put words on that.

All I can say, this is a superbeast. I applied a small spray yesterday. About 24 hours ago. It's still going strong, actually I've been wondering the whole day why I'm so cheerful? Why the world looks brighter, why everywhere I go smells so lovely, like chocolate and distant vanilla, but the darkest, most elegant kind. It's Boccanera. I've showered. He doesn't mind, he's going nowhere. Yes, it's mesmerizing. This is what glorious perfume makes you feel. It's like love. You should always get as good shoes, overcoats and perfumes as you can afford. The price of Boccanera is very reasonable, considering. The quality is just astounding. Don't bother to stare at the notes. Just close your yes and let Boccanera gently rock you. Edit: About 36 h. on skin. 😶 Unisex, leaning masculine like all Orto Parisis, pls create feminine leaning fragranses too. Just a request!

The closest reminder to Xocóatl (Aztec Chocolate) My introduction to Orto Parisi was wildly different from other fragrances I have encountered so far. Opening with spice and pepper laden with hints of ginger and powdery cacao, it soon adopts a darker, brooding persona with thoughts of heavy leather throughout. From these hints, some chocolate and sweetness peek through; though the chocolate is dark, it adds an alluring quality that rounds out the fragrance rather than sharpening as it dries down. The fragrance as a whole reminds me of a hot cup of Xocóatl while wearing a heavy leather jacket. Suitable for evenings and darker weather with longer than average longevity. I can definitely see myself picking this up sometime down the line. So far, I'm understanding a bit more about how unapologetic and raw Alessandro Gualtieri's fragrances are.

This is a statement fragrance! This is not your average youtuber top 10 "Gets da pooshy vet!" type of fragrance, that you order blindly, in your hopes it will do the talking instead of you. This is very heavy, yet delicate, niche perfumery. It's most definitely not suitable for every occasion and I personally would not wear it during warm or hot weather, and in the day time. It's not "hard" to wear by any means, but you will need confidence to pull this one off. Do not order blindly, test first. Do not spray on clothes, it might stain them. Do not spray more than 2-3 times. You will go nose blind to this one after an hour or so, but people around you won't. If you overspray it - you're in trouble. Less is more with this one. Put this on a date if you're going out on a colder night, thank me later.

Polite, yet powerful. Another pickup from Scent Bar in SOHO. Same perfumer as Black Afgano, and reviews previously read stated these were cousins of a sort. Definitely the opposite side of the same coin as Black Afgano. Less spicy, but much darker. The scent is very similar to Lindt Dark Chocolate Chili with some minute black pepper elements. Not as big of a silage as Black Afgano, fairly close on me. The tradeoff is the improved longevity. I'm at hour 10 of wear, and it has hardly faded. The pepper and chili have subdued, but the dark chocolate and sandalwood are still making their presence known. Very happy with this purchase. Great all around fragrance. I think one could even rock this as a good everyday work scent.

As with all of Alessandro Gualtieri’s creations, Boccanera carries his unmistakable signature. bold, unconventional, and deeply personal. The opening hits immediately with rich cocoa and a fiery spark of chili, creating a dark, mysterious presence that’s both intense and inviting. Sharp bursts of peppercorn flash through the composition, but it’s all seamlessly wrapped in a warm, musky softness. There’s a subtle earthiness beneath the surface, balanced by a sweetness that gradually intensifies. As it dries down, the vanilla emerges more prominently, adding a smooth, velvety finish that lingers beautifully. An avant-garde composition - daring, sensual, and masterfully executed.

Honestly kind of expected this to smell a lot more peppery with the strong black pepper and chili notes in the beginning, but I actually smelled mostly sweetness. It's pretty sugary with a bold sort of back end of a dark chocolate with nuts inside of it. The chili reappears and disappears as notes appear and disappear, but it's not too consistent. I still do like this and I think I would wear it. It's really interesting and even if it's not that complex in terms of its smell (it goes from sweet to sweet and spicy to sweet and grassy and then sweet and spicy again) it's still a cool smell.

I only wear Orto scents every single day. One spray max. I've still got 7 year old bottle, more than 2 finger juice inside. My wife loves this scent on my skin but hates it on bloter or sniffing it directly from cap. Performance wise it stays on skin for 3+ days. Projection first day noticable from arm length. Other days is more like a skin scent. Magic in all Ortos is silage, you can pick up scent like 4+m away from you. Very nice blended. You can wear it everywhere. But I use it mostly on rainy days cuz its dry scent. Nice mixture of woods and chocolaty smoked peach. Masterpiece.

Boccanera has a strong dry cocoa, chocolate scent with a hint of chili in the background. The basis, like with much of Gualtieri's works, is a pretty hefty, barnyard oud, with variations on the same subject. The perfume starts out fairly austere and stern, with a strong woody scent of sandalwood shavings. Boccanera is linear and appears to be a glutton. This is an excellent smell for formal, serious occasions where you need to project an authoritative presence. Longevity exceeds 24 hours, and silage is abundant. The quality is simply outstanding.

Really one of the darkest smelling fragrances I’ve tried that doesn’t go into a smokey and incense direction. I don’t really agree with the notes on this one! The chocolate is definitely there but I’m not really getting the chili?? Instead I get a lot of orris in the mid with perhaps some cherry , ginger and plum.There’s almost a lipstick vibe in here but I’m not sure if that’s just a weird subjective note on my part. I find it unisex leaning feminine compared to his other offerings in the house. Very seductive-dark personality of a fragrance!

Boccanera is fast becoming my favourite Orto Parisi, it's an incredible dry, chocolate gourmand with the signature Orto Parisi musk. The performance of this is definitely much better than I've seen many people say online, it lasts a good 11 or 12 hours on my skin and projects well for most of them, its not as strong as a Megamare or Bergamask but still more than strong enough for regular wear in the colder months or summer nights. Overall, Boccanera is an incredible gourmand, that doesn't fall into the overly sweet category. Overall: 10/10

To my nose, this modern beast is right between Terroni (70% the same DNA) & By the Fireplace (the comforting warmth of it, spiked with pepper and scorched chestnuts). In the opening, it smells like you're locked in an antique armoire on fire, full of the darkest bitter chocolate you can imagine & black hashish. Then it slowly burns out and you're left with a warm, addictive, musky, resinous burnt wood as a skin scent. Definitely not for the feint of heart as Gualtieri, once again, pulls no punches.

I find it weird that none of the other reviews have coconut mentioned. To me there is coconut here but it can be my skin. Very dark, strong (as in character of the aroma) and deep. There might be 10% similarly with Afgano but only in the very deep base. On my skin I get coconut and something very weird and dark, I cannot put my finger on it - can be musks with chocolate and who knows what as Orto Parisi notes aren't fully disclosed. Performance is nuclear, stays on me after all day and a shower.

This fragrance is unlike anything I’ve ever encountered — truly unique and bold. Is it a safe blind buy? Definitely not. Imagine the scent of luxe dark chocolate dusted with chilli flakes: rich and spicy, The opening hits you with an intense smokiness that might catch you off guard, but give it time — as it settles, the smoke fades, revealing a smooth, creamy base that’s unexpectedly comforting. Performance? Next-level. It lasts at least 12 hours on my skin and even clung on after a shower.

This was my first artistic fragrance and wow this slaps. The notes that I can feel the most are definitely the dark chocolate and the chili/black pepper. I love this fragrance, but I can understand when other people say it's a "weird" smell. Mature smell in my opinion. I don't feel that dryness on the chocolate like some people say. However, if you are a fan of chocolate and spices and you want to try something new, i definitely recommend this fragrance. Absolute masterpiece.

Beautiful chocolate fragrance, got a sample and will upgrade to a full bottle. It starts off with a strong but dry chocolate with a hint of spices. However in my opinion it is very linear as it only gets slightly sweeter on my skin around the 3-4 hour mark. Projection is good, bit mediocre for an orto parisi but the smell makes up for it and it lasts around 8 hours on my skin. This is my personal favourite fragrance and id recommend anyone who likes darker scents to try it.

The gatekeeping in the reviews is crazy. this shi is so good. Its a dark, edible musky chocolate. I tried it recently, and the day I buy it, I will make it my signature. Its so addictive. Its a perfect blend of chocolate and musk, and it smells like a very bold gourmand. Right in the opening, aside from the top notes, I get a strong musk with a chocolate note hiding right under it. These two notes last the whole day and are definitely the most prominent to me.

Rich semi sweet Dark Chocolate, Earthy dark green Patchouli with dark Woody undertones, smoothed out with Sandalwood, & lightly spiced with Chili Pepper, Black Pepper, & Ginger. Adding a very subtle mock Cinnamon nuance. It smells hauntingly erotic. Like slow sex in the darkest & most dangerous part of the Enchanted Forest. Boccanera & Black Afgano are brothers. One's a Hedonist, the other's a Hippie. Both will guarantee you a great time.

As others have mentioned, this is very reminiscent of Terroni and has the same rich, earthy base. Personally I like this one a lot more because of its differences though. It is less aggressive and more rounded. The intense smoke of Terroni is replaced by lovely chocolate. It is deeply masculine but in a gentle, sophisticated way. I love this fragrance and wear it at home for a rich and comforting feeling during the colder months.

I usually don’t follow perfumers or their work But Alessandro Gualtieri is not a perfumer ......he’s an artist 👩🎨 I heard he was copying the black afghano dna in a couple of fragrances from orto parisi And yes it was similar on skin But on clothes! I was captivated The chocolate here is very real and dry I love the power in these small bottles This guy is a legend in artistic perfumery If you like chocolate sample it

for me it is a less smoky and easier to wear version of terroni, but it does not change the fact that you really need a strong character to wear it otherwise you get lost behind the fragrance, the duration and the sillage like everything from gualtieri is wonderful it accompanies you throughout the day, if you imagine a sweet chocolate you will be very disappointed because this is a 90% cocoa chocolate 10/10

I asked the staff at Scentbar Hollywood to recommend a perfume that takes your nose on a journey of woody then chocolatey notes, and they placed this in front of me. It was the fastest impulsive perfume purchase I’ve made! It’s like eating a dark chocolate bar while walking through an evergreen forest. It is extremely strong and lasts for DAYS, especially on clothes. Very easy to overspray and overwhelm.

I blind bought this fragrance. The opening its a bit harsh for me,the spices are too strong. But after 30-45 minutes,this overpowering spicy note goes away and the fragrance becomes a sweet,woody masculine scent. The dark chocolate note dominates in the fragrance,so if you like the smell of a dark chocolatey drink,this is your fragrance Smell: 9/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Projection: 8.7/10

This is BEAUTIFUL! It's a gourmand but not at all in the classic 'I'm sugary sweet pls eat me'... this is giving very much 'eat me... I dare you' energy. Like a luxurious box of rich dark chocolate, discreetly poisoned and clouded with spice and incense. Sits deliciously close to the skin begging to be sniffed. Orto parisis most seductive scent. S€x in a bottle this is 10/10

like this alot. Get a nice spice from the pepper that contrasts beautifully with this dark chocolatey seductive smell. I wasnt sure what to expect with the note chili but it is definitely there, defo strong and defo good. Really like this, amazing projection and performance however still prefer terroni and bergamask i think. like it more than viride i think

My go to perfume. I struggle to find perfumes that stick to my skin, aswell as perfumes that I can still smell on myself hours later. This one actually holds, and I get warm slivers of scent throughout the day. It's a very warm and dark scent, totally wearable and deep set. One spray lasts the entire day, and I found it to stick longer than Coium.

Amazing spicy & powdery chocolate in a bottle. It does not smell overly sweet & spicy & bitter, it is just right in every department. If you are expecting a sweet & creamy chocolate cream, this is not it, Boccanera is more of a chocolate powder kind of scent that has been lightly spiced. Insane performance (nothing new for Orto Parisi).

Boccanera smells like a museum security who poured himself a spicy hot chocolate. The spice reminds me of a Mexican Chile. I personally gravitate towards more vanilla sweet scents but this is really beautiful. Please try it first though, the initial opening is kind of reminiscent of a barnyard oud.

Boccanera by Orto Parisi – 7/10 Smells exactly like chili chocolate. It’s unique and very well blended. Performance is strong and it lasts a long time. I like it a lot, but it’s not something I’d wear daily. Still, it’s a great scent to have in your collection if you want something different.

Amazing performance. I get really good compliments from this. Opens with chocolate and chili spice and remains warm throughout the day, but dries down to this really nice aromatic, fresh sandalwood. Definitely complex and extremely moreish. One of my favourite Orto Parisi fragrances.

When sprayed, it resembles black afgano, but more chocolatey. After a minute you can feel the rich spicy nutty chocolate, not sweet but dry. After an hour the chocolate recedes into the background and you can feel the leather musk and spices. Very tasty interesting strong scent. 8/10

It smells like drinking hot chili dark chocolate in an artist’s atelier, with the scent of acrylic paint, books and leather all around. I love it. Longevity and projection are great, it's strong, so one drop is enough. Edit: P.S. I think this is what Babycat wanted to be.

If you're generally into fresh, aquatic, citrussy fragrances this definitely aint it for you. This stuff screams SIGMA MALE and can only be worn by such. Super dark spicy woody chocolaty concoction. One spray and my whole neighbourhood knows I stepped out of my house!

Just bought this fragrance, and in my opinion it's a masterpiece. to me it's smells like rolling up and dropping your mixer in a dark chocolate cake, meanwhile your surroundings are on fire. definently one of my favourite op's, and i recommend trying it out. 10/10

malicious and evil. a subtle smirk with bad intentions. something unfair about this smell. i love it. powerful, pungent, present. lasts forever and projects well. i can imagine a villain wearing this. it reminds you of chocolate but i wouldnt call it sweet.

talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.

In addition to other notes mentioned before, I detect a foggy very dry coffee note here. It's blended beautifully with dark bitter chocolate. I think the more I wear Boccanera the more I learn to appreciate its complex nature.

Too good to be true of yourself and your own sense . This fragrance not suitable for teenagers ! When you like dark houses you can choose this one . Chocolate and spicy-ware is special warm to you .

10/10, it’s super chocolate forward with heavy spice in the opening and it’s really good. Dry down gets slightly earthy for me and it’s an incredibly elegant scent for winter and smells unique 100%

My favorite fragrance of all time I love İt so much. Opening is intense smoky dry dark chocolate mixed with spices. İt does have some floral notes. Drydown is deep dank dusty woods.

I believe this one really needs a well trained nose to appreciate it . It’s certainly bold and unique. If you didn’t love it . You will not hate it . It’s just something different

don’t recommend buying it. i bought it then i returned it, this thing smells like horse sh!t. the longevity and projection is extremely disappointing, it’s like a body mist
