The name Terroni, a not-so-cordial nod to southern Italy and its volcanic soil, couldn’t be more fitting... not only along the scent itself but also around Gualtieri's typical marketing levers. For starters, I'd define this as an elemental fragrance that feels like it was forged (macerated?) in the Vesusius ash and aged in scorched wood. Just by looking at the bottle's cap, which portrays lava stone, you can get the hint: Terroni is not for the faint of heart... and I’m genuinely glad I didn’t test it during my early “showergel” phase. The opening is smoky, like the charred edge of a Neapolitan pizza crust left just a second too long in a wood-fired oven. But beneath that burnt crust lies a resinous sweetness. Raspberry and earthy patchouli emerge early, giving the scent a "dark fruitiness" contrasting the smoke. There’s also a molten, almost metallic warmth that evokes lava cooling into rock. As the scent evolves further, the sweetness recedes and the earth takes over. You get dry woods, scorched soil, and a mineralic undertone that feels almost geological. The drydown is smoother, but still grounded in that earthy DNA. A touch of vanilla and tonka adds a subtle warmth, but never tips the fragrance into a comfortable territory. Performance is exactly what you’d expect from Orto Parisi: substantial. Like Megamare and Risvelium, Terroni projects assertively and lasts well over 10 hours on skin, way longer on fabric. In terms of comparisons, Terroni shares some DNA with Black Afgano Extrait de Parfum, particularly in its smoky, resinous character. It also echoes the dark fruit and woodiness of Interlude Man, though it’s less baroque and more elemental. I’d want to rate Terroni higher, but I always try to include a reflection on the scent's versatility, which is limited here - despite the evocative composition. For those who are emancipated from the clean and fresh and are ready to explore the raw and the rooted, Terroni is an (almost) necessary next step worth taking. Its sillage is immense, almost defiant, as if proclaiming: “Let me loose, and I will conquer everything within the next ten meters.” I’ll update my thoughts on longevity later, as it’s only been about an hour since I applied it. However, even now, I can tell that four to five sprays were far too generous and two to three are more than enough for this powerhouse. The opening is sweet yet boozy, immediately commanding attention and exuding a sense of confidence. It’s a fragrance made for elegant occasions, not for public transportation because its projection is simply too potent for enclosed spaces. Terroni has a bold character and unmistakable stance, as though it declares, “I’m here, standing firm, where are you?” I can now understand why some describe it as volcanic: it erupts upon application and projects relentlessly, much like an unstoppable force of nature. It somewhat reminds me of Roja Amber Aoud in both scent profile and strength, though Terroni’s heaviness is more refined and wearable unlike the dense intensity of Musc Ravageur by Frédéric Malle or Nefs by Nishane, at least to my nose. Whether it’s a compliment getter remains to be seen, but it’s undeniably an attention getter, a fragrance that commands presence rather than politely requesting it. Its longevity is among the most impressive I have experienced. During the day, it attracted a compliment from a male colleague and a subtle remark from a female colleague. This fragrance is clearly not a typical light, office-friendly scent; it’s better suited for formal occasions or elegant evening outings.

From my understanding, Terroni is inspired by Southern Italy, particularly its active volcanoes. This concept translates beautifully into the scent. The opening blasts you with warm smoke that feels like scorched earth set on fire. This smoky accord comes from the birch, but it isn’t a cold, ashy smoke it’s warm, enriched by amber, which adds a glowing, slightly resinous touch. There’s also a hint of musk and benzoin, contributing a warm balsamic quality that wraps around the smokiness. As it develops, guaiac wood emerges, bringing a dense, woody smokiness with a subtle touch of vanilla. Then comes the vetiver, which to me resembles Javanese vetiver due to its dusty and smoky qualities, enhancing the earthy and charred effect of the Perfume. Cedar adds a straightforward woody atmosphere, creating a forest like background, though this forest vibe stays mostly in the distance. An iconic aspect of Terroni is the Orto Parisi musk DNA. Here, the musk leans slightly animalic but remains subtle under the dominant smoke. Patchouli is also present but minimal, acting more as an earthy support rather than a leading note. Oakmoss brings an uplifting and balancing contrast, cutting through the heaviness with its green and slightly bitter elements. One note I don’t detect clearly is the tonka bean. What truly adds uniqueness to Terroni is the raspberry note, which is consistent throughout the fragrance. It’s not overly sweet, playful raspberry but rather a darker, almost jammy fruitiness that blends with the smoky, earthy accord, giving Terroni its signature character. Overall, Terroni is an interesting and complex perfume definitely not for everyone. I would compare it to Nasomatto’s Black Afgano. Both share similarities in their dark, smoky profiles, but Black Afgano feels darker and more spiritual, while Terroni is raw, aggressive, and less mysterious. I enjoy Alessandro Gualtieri’s creations, so my opinion may be biased. Anyway, Terroni is a unique and impactful experience that stands out in its own powerful way.

Terroni Orto Parisi The Southern Man Terroni is the T-word in Italy that some northern Italians use to describe southern Italians. I think the northerners are just a bit jealous 😊 As the southern Italians are privileged to have the capabilities and skills to enjoy and live life as is should be instead of the modern, busy city lifestyle. For Gualtieri to present this perfume with the name Terroni is absolutely genius, full of courage and honor. The hall brand is based on his grandfather’s honor as it translates to: Orto Parisi = My grandfather’s Garden & yes they were from the SOUTH Let’s dive into Terroni’s kind of heat: lava heat Intense smoky, soury opening with slight faint hints of fecal oud, it’s woody leathery with hints of sweetness for 3 minutes. Later on the sweetness is toned down a bit, the sourness remains & it becomes more smoky, leathery with amber & balsamic notes It is an intense, smoky, woody, leathery opening. The heart is very close to the opening just a bit cooler & smokier with more decorated smoky cedar wood note & it’s more musky with vanilla undertone to it (at a point it gave me the impression of a boozy, citrusy note) This is a unique scent profile & it’s very grounding & mysterious. The heart is the coolest stage & it gets slightly creamy & powdery with vanilla, musk & tonka bean notes. All the earthiness here come from patchouli vitiver & moss, with the leftover from the smoky cedar wood, leather, amber & balsam. The base is elegant and rough, yet it has a bit of a smooth quality to it. This is a leaner fragrance & still it’s my No 1 from Orto Parisi line up & probably from all Gualtieri’s creations. Not anyone can pull this off, but if you could, this can be your winter signature scent. Performance here is excellent & sillage is room-filling, it stayed on my skin for the next day. My wife lovee when i smell on Terroni. For me It's a compliment getter. Back in a day few years ago, some of my female friends ask of me to hug pillows, and they would take those pillows, hug it and sleep with it, not that they have crush on me. They say it smell amaizing, it gives them place of comfort, warmth so they can sleep better. Very long lasting on my skin 4+ days(i shower 2 times a day) , on clothes more than 6 months. I'm not big over sprayer, one spray is enough any of the Ortos, and I have them all. You can wear it all seasons, but i prefer to wear it on mostly on evening or very early in the morning. After 12+ hours its mostly skin scent and noticable to ppl in arm length, after 20+ hours or day or two, everyone who hugs you will compliment your smell nice ( my ppl point that i smell on terroni) You will be nose blind by that time, trust me lasts more than 4 days i respray it every 6 days on same spot (chest). I have same bottle for over 6 years, and juice in it is more than 2 fingers left. Smells nice, very woody, warm and smokie, after a lot of hours is more like a sour woody peach. Masterpiece.

I may be biased in this review, because this is my favorite fragrance I have ever smelled so far, but holy crap, this stuff is amazing. Ngl, I was drawn to the Orto Parisi brand by the bottles, but after learning what this could smell like, sweet and smoky resonous woods, I knew I had to smell it for myself. Now, Orto Parisi doesn't disclose their notes, so anything you see on here is just an approximation by the community. After smelling it, I can say it smells both like the notes listed and nothing like the notes listed. Basically, take all of the notes, set them on fire, and then you have Terroni. It does start off with a slight sweetness right at the very top, which you could say is a raspberry, but that goes away and leaves this woody, smoky, and ambery scent. I think I smell a tiny bit of oud that outlasts everything. This, for me at least, is the perfect special occasion fragrance for a sophisticated evening. If you think you like the smell of wood on fire, with these supporting notes in the background, then please try this fragrance.

This is amazing. When I smelled this I immediately thought "This is me in a bottle". Smoky, resinous, oudy, slightly sweet. The longevity on this is out of this world. I had one spray on a test strip and it perfumed a room for five days. Lasts 15+ hours on skin and forever on clothes. Orto Parisi/Nasomatto famously never releases notes but here's my best interpretation. Top: Pine needles, Soil Mid: Smoke, Cedar, Blackberry Base: Oud, Amber, Musk Opens up densely smoky with an earthy outdoors-y feel from the pine. After that dies down you get blackberry, dry cedar and smoke. In the drydown you get a dry, warm, smoky oud, not of the animalic kind but rather the intensely woody kind, mixed with some of the sweetness left from the mid. The combo of smoky oud and blackberry reminds me of some of the kinds of oud chips you burn as incense. There are things about the deep dry down that reminds me of some aspects of Xerjoff Alexandria II and Amouage Jubilation XXV. Not that they smell alike, but something connects them all (which is probably oud).

A blast of smoke, dark chocolate, and something almost boozy hits you straight in the face, but in a strangely addictive way. It’s dark, intense, and unapologetically earthy. Gravel, scorched wood, maybe even a rusted fence post in the sun. But the raspberry? That’s the lifeline. It cuts through the heaviness with just enough sweetness to keep things from going full nihilist. It smells synthetic, yes, but evokes such vivid, primal terrain you almost forget. The signature Orto Parisi musk is buried deep in the dirt. It’s mature, brooding, and very heavy—like wearing a weighted blanket sprayed with burnt incense. Definitely a winter scent. Any warmer and it would be too much. One spray is a full commitment. Masculine, or the kind of femme who wears vintage leather and never explains anything (and you're too afraid to ask). This smells like you found a half-burnt cigarette in the baseball field dirt—and kept it as a souvenir. MOVIE MATCH: The Batman (2022) — brooding, gritty, unexpectedly elegant, and best worn in the shadows.

I believe Gaultieri's point in creating this fragrance was to encapsulate the essence of fire as it exists in nature. The main accords of this fragrance consist of burning, like aggresive burning. Like a textbook lit ablaze in a small classroom, or the outskirts of a forest completely burnt to black. Later on the fragrance adopts a certain sweetness from the raspberry note. Raspberries are among the first plants to be reborn from the ashes of a fire, and I think this is where Gaultieri gets at the purpose of fire in nature, rather than simply describing it's existence in said place. The sweetness of the raspberry note implies something rather positive which goes against the destructive nature of the fire. I believe that the raspberry note (and moss note aswell) is a testament to fire, and the destruction it causes, as a natural cycle. As the forest burns to the ground it takes it's nutrients, which are then given to the next forest. To the raspberries and moss of the next, is this forest burned. TLDR: 2/10 shit fragrance

I discovered Terroni because I tend to naturally gravitate towards woodsy and smoky scents. Sure enough, it was love at first sniff. I thought I couldn’t like this scent any more than I already did, and then I found out the meaning of the word Terroni! I happen to have southern Italian heritage. I love, love, love that Alessandro Gualtieri decided to reclaim a derogatory slur when naming this scent. The name fits -- it's not for everyone, it's bold, it's creative, and it leaves a lasting impression. Love it or hate it, you'll remember this fragrance. Terroni conjures the fiery, intense rumblings of an active volcano as well as the tenacious, lively nature of the people who live in its shadow. Terroni smells of harsh, torched woods while simultaneously maintaining a delicious sweetness. The duality is intoxicating. I just can't get enough. Brash and smoky? Check. Sweet and musky? Yep. It reacts beautifully with my skin chemistry and lasts all day. 10/10 masterpiece.

The time has come to rate this masterpiece of a perfume after almost 5 months! This is my second Orto parisi, i blind bought it like i did with Seminalis. And i can say when i smelled this for the first time, the first 5,10 sec after i sprayed i didn't notice anything, just the alcohol from the perfume... and then i got the raw smell of burned wood (like the fire in the forest) Тhis burned smell stayed for almost an hour until my nose starts to get used to it. I thought this perfume is not for me, it was too strong and different. And then the sweet note came. it was like raspberry or strawberry and that sweetness added the balance to the perfume. When i wear Terroni, i imagine how the fire burns the forest, the earth, the bushes with the fruits. I Appreciate this masterpiece bravo alessandro !!! If you have a chance, smell it before you order. The scent is heavy but classy!!

Terroni. Hypnotizing is the word I would use when I set eyes on fragrance, i was encapsulated by the sheer aura this bottle had and immediately went to test it out, the opening is the equivalent of a molotov cocktail and a grenade having a baby, very volatile and might feel like a punch to the nose which put me off but the further time went on the more I had to sniff this the more it developed into this beautiful smoky woody scent that I haven't really experienced before, it felt like I was fighting a war in a burning forest, a masterpiece of an experience and the only complaint I have is the opening because my oh my this fragrance LASTS! About 12 hours with 6 hours of good projection! Keep in mind my nose is very weak after covid so take what I say about performance with a grain of salt it might be even stronger! This fragrance must be in your collection An 8/10

Terroni is not as unwearable as people make it out to be. It’s definitely strong and favorably worn during cold weather but the composition of notes is quite stunning. I immediately get a deep smoke over some resinous thick jammey raspberry and some dark woods. It has a slight skankyness to it but IMO it adds to the effect of the smoke. It definitely lasts all day but it doesn’t project into a full room. yes you can smell it through the air but it won’t choke people out if you don’t overspray it. 5 sprays is the perfect amount Compared to black afgano i definitely get the same vibe but this one has a thicker resinous base and actually personally prefer this one over black afgano altough for a untrained nose they can be quite similar

Alessandro Gaultieri might be my new favorite perfumer along with Dominique Ropion. He really knows what he’s doing with every creation and Terroni is nothing short of spectacular. I’m a huge fan of Black Afgano and I think this is even better than BA. It’s spicier and smokier with that same nutty and chocolatey twist. And the performance is atomic. That red color of the juice is so damn cool too and looks awesome sitting next to my bottle of Megamare in my collection. Orto Parisi really is one of the coolest brands in niche perfumery. They hit the nail on the head with almost every single one of their offerings. Unique and very very hard to be replicated. Simply a 10/10 in all aspects.

This has become almost my signature scent. It is so beautiful to me and I can't explain why. It gives me vivid imagery of camping in a forest in the winter, but it is also so sweet and alluring. I wish I could just spray this on whenever I please but that would do this fragrance a disservice. One of the few fragrances I find I wear truly for myself and not to impress others, although it gets a lot of attention from people as well because it is a powerhouse. Very reminiscent of Black Afgano, in fact when I purchased this I had a sample on each hand debating which one I liked more. This is way more smokey and woodsy and not as sweet and sour like it's cousin. 10/10 must sample

So today I got my terroni, I wanted to test it out, I sprayed it on my hand, waited for 1 hour and showered like a normal human, its been 7 hours and its still there AFTER A WHOLE SHOWER this one smells good, projects and definitely lasts easy pick for a signature scent and if you like these type of woody fragrances and cant afford it I can suggest encre noire old formula (if you can find it) the new one works too. Terroni 10/10 would recommend EDIT: its been 28 hours and its standing this fragrance is the most lasting then all of the fragrance thay I've tried in my life absolutely incredible and small fun fact, my house smells like it now, this fragrance doesn't disappoint.

A night in Lanzarote after a sunny day, an suddendly it starts to get cold. You make your tent in that beautiful rocky and black land, close of one of these holes where you can see the lava flowing underneath. You throw wood and some incense in that hole and the aroma of the burning rises warming you. Have some raspberries or prunes. Your body's and nature's scents blend in a ritual where the fire turns everything intensily vermillion. Quiet red heat.... Love Terroni. Gualtieri evocative powers transcends he's hometown memories and catalyze my own. I love this perfume and couldn't care less if people around don't like it. It's for me that I got it.

I’m a nightlife photographer, and Terroni instantly reminded me of the end of a long night shooting at Clubs and indoor Raves in LA. The room has been warm for hours, there’s smoke and perfume hanging in the air, and the sun is starting to come up outside. You’re tired, about to go home, but the whole night is still stuck to your clothes and camera. That’s what Terroni smells like to me. Warm ash, scorched earth, smoke and a strange sweetness underneath it all. Not an ashtray and not really “a club scent.” More like the residue left after the night is over. I didn’t expect to love it this much, but I keep going back to smell it.

Dark, warm, and beautiful. Best way I can describe Terroni is: sun-baked hand-turned clay and sweet, salty skin at dusk, still smoky from the kiln. And I swear... it feels somehow alive the more you smell it. I don't know how, but it does. It's also distinctly similar to Dior Oud Rosewood but with the addition of airy, salty, red-earthy musk and hint of smoke. As for performance: Sadly, the rumors of recent Orto Parisi reformulations may be true, because this is basically a skin scent. Nothing like the room filling volcanic cloud other people have reported, unfortunately. I'd love to get my hands on an older batch.

to me this smells like incense, burnt wood and maybe roasted peanuts in the opening (i really cannot detect most of the notes listed here, but its not the first time this happens with a gualtieri perfume), its surely intense but not as intense and intoxicating as people say it is on social media: in my opinion this is quite far from being challenging and its pretty much just a unique warm woody perfume, nothing “unwearable” like people make it seem like. also, it really does not smell like black afgano, at all, i’ve smelled both perfumes many times and i really don’t see any resemblance between the two 8.5/10

This perfume is very well built. It is a little bit similar to Bocсanera, but still very different in many aspects. You can really feel the brand's DNA in this perfume. Some people can feel the base of Black Afgano or Сuoium here, which makes sense because of how this scent develops. During the performance, there is something sweet here with a lot of burned wood. I guess it's raspberry or pomegranate connected with amber, wood, and smokiness. After 5–6 hours, it becomes drier and smokier, so be ready for it to be smoky. A very good choice for the evening. Very good sillage, with longevity of about 9 hours +

Terroni by Orto Parisi is inspired by volcanoes so it kinda smells like coal, to me it smells like coal and cigarettes smoke combined together equally to create a masterpiece. First time smelling this perfume was in a niche perfumes department store and i smelled the raspberry note at first idk how, i smelled it again another day, and it was a different experience, and i loved it until i got a full bottle. This fragrance is indeed not typical and not for everyone because it’s so heavy and it’s so smokey. Overall it’s a 9.8/10 fragrance it’s my second best fragrance in the Orto Parisi line.

Amazing Beast Mode Winter powerhouse and very unique. However, if you own black afgano and you're not a collector smell it first as for some people it might be redundant. They are not identical, but they do the same job, and you'll notice the same DNA with both fragrances. That being said if you're choosing between black afgano or terroni it's a tough comparison both are very strong projecting bold fragrances both are winter fancy nights out if you are more into woody spicy scents maybe go with terroni if you love resinous darker wet type of fragrances go with afgano.

This is actually a very sensual perfume, unisex, but on my skin deeply and decadently feminine, something an artistic and intellectual courtesan like Veronica Franco would wear. It’s in a very strong concentration, so it must be used very gently, allowing it to interact with your skin. Projection, longevity and sillage are huge. To me, this is both a sensual and ambient perfume: leather, musk, a grand library with leather chairs and wooden cabinets, a wood fire, and just around the corner, the silky bedroom with a baldachin. I love it.

Terroni is very unique. When I got a sample of this I really didn't like it but I decided to keep trying over the next few days and my opinion changed. At first it smells like old, aged coffee that you've had sitting on your shelf for six months. After a few minutes it takes a complete turn into this earthy, ashy, charred leather scent that I can only describe as the aftermath of a chapel after a fire. It smells dark, mysterious, evil, and angry. Every time I wear this I always catch myself smelling my wrist, it's addicting.

Were it not for the prominent raspberry note in the opening I would be left with a visual/olfactory memory of walking in sight of post harvest stubble fires remembered from my country childhood. Smokey and woody with the subtle mineral scent of freshly turned soil as the remaining detritus is ploughed back into the land. An Autumn palette. This is the magic of visionary perfumery. The power to conjure images and sensory impressions from ephemeral materials. Alessandro Gualtieri is a master of his craft. I love it!

Revisiting back, it is definitely an acquired taste. If you can't stand heavy perfumes, this is not for you. Performance is bonkers. You wouldn't wear this in order to fish for compliments, rather you would wear this simply because you enjoy it yourself and couldn't care less about anyone else's taste. Go easy on the sprays and prepare yourself for a full day long of journey in the earthy volcanic environment this scent evokes.

One of the few bottles in my collection that is almost empty. Would love and even more powerful Extrait version of this. The raspberry mixed with smokey volcanic notes is sublime, nothing on the market like it. The raspberry is there but not overpowering like with Dior Essence. You can't go wrong with this pickup, blind buy safe in my opinion. One of my favorites in my 20 year fragrance journey.

This is my favorite fragrance off all time. I love this earthy, smoky and sweet smell that it gives. This is not blindbuy safe. However new batches of orto parisi, like 01245 and 06241 doesnt last as long as the old batches last. My bottle lasts pretty long still, about 7-9 hours. I wish my bottle even was stronger but its still an easy 10/10. Best Orto parisi and the best fragrance OAT.

"petals on a wet, black bough" - ezra pound, is a perfect review already. i would only add the petals do smell of raspberry like on the perfume pyramid above; also as an indonesian i thought post-dry down theres a definite stink of menyan/kemenyan. when i wiki-ed it, the english equivalent of menyan is the resin, styrax benzoin, so the pyramid dont lie about that either.

Very smoky, spicy, slightly sweet opening, like a volcanic eruption. On the drydown it becomes a way more woody, earthy scent, with the birch and benzoin peeking through. Stays on my skin for a long time, I genuinely have to think about not overspraying it, lest it becomes overwhelming for other people. 10/10, thank you Alessandro Gualtieri

The scent is really complex, but for me It's like if you took some part of SWY intensely and then piled a ton of wood and resin on top of it, i don't really get the raspberry, I will say it's a scent you have to try multiple days because even when you like it at first you might hate it in few days and the other way around It's that complex.

People with a little imagination will understand, this smells like a city destroyed after a war, buildings falling and leaving only dust, a city in flames, a slight undertone of burnt skin, certainly not for everyone, and it's a fragrance that forces you to have a very strong character, otherwise it's the one wearing you, not you.

SOOOOOOOO good on men it gives classy lumberjack off duty and on women it gives "She'll ruin your life in all the best ways and look hot doing it." I could write a poem about this perfume and I probably will. Leaves a really obvious scent trail too. Update: went to a party and got numerous compliments totally worth it

Terroni is not for everyone. and definitely not for the Gen Z crowd. If a serial killer or a vampire had a signature scent, this would be it. This is for an old alpha male who is soft on the inside and terror on the outside. Heroic. Stays with you until you wash it off, even that is doubtful lol. Smell of death...

it's like carrying a burning tree with you all day. it's an unbelievable composition that i admire but i could never wear it on a daily basis. in fact, i don't think anyone could wear this without looking a little silly. you have to be some kind of horror villain to pull it off and actually give it character

STRONG, even on someone who typically finds that perfumes don't last that long on them. However, it has this wonderful, sexy, dark scent. Terroni by Orto Parisi – 8/10 A great cold weather scent. It smells deep and smoky with a nice touch of sweetness. The raspberry adds a little fruity layer to balance it out. It lasts a long time and is strong. This is my third favorite from the brand after Risvelium and Megamare.

Smokey, ashy, earthy, charred wood, and a tiny hint of sweetness this is amazing in its own way, performance is powerful and unique although kind of offensive at school. Definitely not a everyday but to me this is incredible. Orto Parisi doesn’t miss.

Amazingly gothic, dark, smokey and potent. It has a lovely and smooth oriental sweetness to it that brings it all together. Incredible longevity and performance as well. Terroni didn't disappoint in the slightest and I'm very happy that I own it.

I thought I would hate this one based on the notes, but I love it a lot. Beautifully smokey and sweet at the same time. I love love the sweetness here, it's balancing the ashy vulcanic like smell greatly.
