I really enjoy this! A clean, refreshing, joyful, floral vanilla with a touch of effervescent ginger to brighten it up. Despite the praline, this is not a gourmand perfume. The praline just adds enough depth and sweetness. This is a lightly sweetened, grown up, every day, very bright vanilla with florals. An easy reach.... Especially on days when you don’t want to fuss or overthink what you are going to wear from your perfume wardrobe. Can’t go wrong here. And as it warms up on your skin, it continues to evolve, getting yummier and yummier into the drydown. Just so lovely!!! Perfect for spring and summer. But it can 100% be worn all year round because it’s so balanced. And for $16.99 At Marshall’s, it’s a no brainer! It leaves you will a delightful, super addictive scent bubble. And as I wear it, there is something about this that evokes an image of a wet mermaid, whose skin, hair, and scales are sparkling in the bright afternoon sun. Strange... I know. But it feels like a mermaid might wear this.

realized i've never left a review even though i have been using alibi for almost two years now. this is my second bottle and im very fond of it. on my skin it smells like a warm flower honey. the amber gives it a warm, vanilla deepness to it and its very pleasant. for a while it was my only perfume so i used it all year round and i do think it fits all seasons since it's quite light and adaptable. i was surprised reading the reviews since i thought she's very inoffensive and easy. the sillage on my skin is decent for the first hour or two, and then it transforms into a skin scent. longevity is pretty good as well and all in all i have been extremely happy with this perfume, and while its not my favorite im very attached to it. i got my first bottle when i was turning 18 and now i'm turning 20 soon, and it was my first eau de parfum scent. i intend to repurchase when i run out again <3 shes very dear to me and reminds me of the turning point from growing from a teenager to a young adult

Absolutely adore this perfume on me!! It smells so yummy without being too heavy on the gourmand side. It’s a little more powdery than I typically go for, but I think if you layered this with an ambery vanilla perfume oil base it would round out the scent. That being said, the powder disappears in the dry down it just smells light and sweet. I’ve been looking for a new signature scent ever since my old all-time favorite Armani’s Code Satin got discontinued back in like 2017. Perfumes interact with the Ph of your skin and so they’re going to smell different on different people and I’ve been looking for MY perfume. I love the way this smells on me, I wear it year round, and even though now I have expanded my perfume collection, this is the one I keep going back and rebuying and feel like I can reach for in any situation 💕

I discovered Oscar de la Renta’s Alibi a few years ago. I hadn’t smelled an Oscar fragrance in eons. So I was happy about giving Alibi a try. It opens with a nice slightly boozy juicy aroma of decadent mandarin and spicy ginger. I love a nice kick of spice in my fragrances. I also smell notes of vanilla, musk and yummy praline. This bottle of perfume gets even yummier in the dry down. Alibi has a nice combination of deliciously juicy and floral notes and they are very well balanced in this perfume. This perfume reminds me of Valentino’s Born in Roma, Rihanna’s Reb’l Fleur, and Michael Buble’s By Invitation. Oscar de la Renta’s Alibi is a sister fragrance to them. I like Alibi. She’s pretty, flirty, feminine and confidently sexy. I think she’d make a great addition to any perfume collection.

this perfume. I never paid much attention to it until I was bored and sprayed it at work. next time I sprayed it again. now I can’t stop thinking about this scent! to me, it smells like mango ice cream with a nice milky note to it. I didn’t try it in the summer so i’m a bit nervous about that milky note, but in the winter it truly blossomed! the dry down is interesting, at first it smelled very mango to me (which isn’t in the notes apparently), then very milky, but it’s just delightful! it’s luxurious, somewhat thick like honey. it’s hypnotizing really. on me it lasts ok and this one requires a few sprays on me. overall very charming, interesting and unique. kinda wanna gatekeep it but there you go :)

I love just about any perfume with Mandarin orange and this does not disappoint. I seem to be in the minority but I love this scent and get many compliments every time I wear it. With my body chemistry I get the mandarin and florals first but then the musk and amberwood balance out the sweetness. So interesting how divisive a perfume this can be when I thought it was a pretty basic every day wear scent.

I’m wearing this for the summer. I really like it. It smells like pineapple to me but since it’s not in the notes, it must be the mandarin orange and ginger tricking my nose. Anyway, I think it’s long lasting. Lasts over night for me. The dry down reminds me of Princess by Vera Wang, a fruity sweet summer scent. Love it.

I don't know why Alibi doesn't get more hype! It's a beautifully balanced citrusy vanilla scent that is suitable for day and night, most seasons. I absolutely love it and I hope it never gets discontinued. If you hear any rumors, let me know so I can buy 5 bottles lol! (It's affordable, too!)

To me this is Romantic but in a fruity way. Fun for summer bridal parties, baby showers, even weddings. This is a really gorgeous scent and I now plan on buying a bottle for sure.

All my favorites in one. Juicy berries, mandarin and vanilla. Sexy and playful.

Hmmm Well, I've skin tested this scent twice now; on my body in an all over fashion, and a couple sprays to my inner forearm. This is a pleasant scent, its sweet ish from what seems like dried fruit (not heavy, syrupy or thick) with a powdery feel (airy powdery, mot so much a dense or make up feel or smell, not baby powdery either) I can sense depth to it though I cannot place the listed notes. Not an overly floral scent, but I can feel their presence in the background, I know ginger could be challenging for some, I cannot feel it in this scent (whereas I can with Twilly, Eternity Flame -I think it is, JPG Cabaret -very present). This is a light scent overall, not a heavy hitter. ** oscar de la renta bella rosa and bella essence have an approximate powderyness to them which this scent shares, the sweet aspect could be likened vaguely to bella essence - but b.e. has a thicker more dense feel overall. Alibi is much lighter and airy. I dont pick up fresh accords prominently ... much later and waaaaay down, possibly a smidgen in what's left of the sillage. So, the listed notes I'd give to: praline, musk (not animalic, or narciso musc) orchid and maybe heliotrope. I cannot smell the water notes, mandarin, ginger, and amberwood. A soft scent, pleasant, work friendly or when you need a closer wearing smell. OK, YET ANOTHER EDIT, SORRY. I got the ginger. It's not quite the same as I've experienced previously. In the opening and mid, its smooth, doesnt have anything to do with real ginger. In the dry down I get a bit of pencil shavings type wood/book paper, way down at the end. I've had this spray on for 7 hours. This one goes close to body at about 4-5 hours, but I still get nice whiffs. What a relief

One of the great affordable everyday fragrances out there, it's a powdery praline with succulent mandarin. The opening is heavy on the floral, puffy orchid smell, plus that heliotrope makes it soft and clean. Praline makes the dry down sweet and slightly gourmand, but not enough to call it a gourmand. I'm surprised no one has said this smells like Voce Viva, it reminds me of it but instead of white florals it's powdery florals. Both have these powdery citruses with sweet bases, so it has that current designer smell to it. This gets me compliments when I wear it, and it's not too strong (as opposed to voce viva which many have told me is headache inducing) so I can wear it knowing others will enjoy it. Not a unique fragrance by any means, but this isn't made to fit niches. Repeating myself, this is your everyday fragrance made for the more mild seasons (fall and spring). The gorgeous Irina Shayk is actually quite a good choice as the face for this fragrance, I think pretty much everyone can agree she's beautiful, and has this sort of reliable face for fashion. In the same way this fragrance is pretty much objectively good and could be a great spring staple in your collection. I also think someone who isn't that into fragrances could make use of this, it doesn't have any weird notes and performs decently so potentially gift worthy.

I like it and its nice but nothing special to me. Worth it if you need something in this category and find it on a good deal. I get fresh and peppery upfront and then soft slightly vanilla citrus wood later. I bought this because I was absolutely blown away with eau sensuelle ( which is the posh seductive sister scent imo ) but this one is a bit forgettable to me. I couldn't tell you what it smells like, but I am sure I've smelt this scent profile many times before so its not a stand out for me. I do think this is versatile though, could easily see it working through all seasons, for day wear or a conservative night out. Would make a nice gift and doesn't smell tied to any age group. I like it and will happily use it. Update : I am just not reaching for this one. Its a safe buy and not offensive but its sooooo generic to me, and a bit synthetic like plastic. Its giving 90's magazine scratch and sniff vibes, which maybe has a place somewhere for someone, no judgement but just just a bit unremarkable

I seem to be one of few that like this perfume. On me this is quite beautiful to be honest! It's soft, sweet and i actually want to say more fruity than floraly which is weird considering the only fruit is the mandarin orange in the top notes. Can't smell any ginger though! I agree it's not something to be completely wowed by, but it's such a perfect day scent that gives off a warm safe feeling. Something nostalgic about this for me too, but i don't know what it's reminding me of? Edit: Spoke too soon. It actually got sickening after a while so i had to scrub it off. So sad because the opening was so pretty

This perfume is a floral-powdery vanilla. I don’t really smell the ginger note. On the opening you can smell the mandarin as it quickly dries down into a powdery floral. Eventually as it dries down you smell more musk. I had this perfume for a while and when I would smell it I would associate this perfume with summer. It’s a great perfume for its price point. Definitely not “gourmand” as advertised. I don't wear this one too often because Im very much a vanilla, warm gourmand girly but i think a majority of people would like it

I've got a ladies scent (this one) I wanted to amp up and experiment... Oh my goodness layering azzaro wanted by night with Alibi from oscar de la renta made the whole thing into a f*ck-yeah scent. The warm powderyness plus a bit of floral of alibi dialled down the pitch of the more male aspects of w.b.n and I reckon lavender of w.b.n meshed so well with the powder musk of alibi. The fruit part of each is so smooth. Nothing wrong with borrowing a spray or two of hubby or sons scents!

I recently purchased this as I am on the hunt for my signature scent. it is lovely but I have worn this fragrance profile so many times and I want to get out of the mold. I sprayed Armaf Club De Nuit on the other arm and actually preferred the "medicinal" note on CDN. I fell that Alibi is very linear and if oversprayed can be nauseating which I find is the problem I have with CDN. Both perfumes have strong similarities that I would like to leave behind.

Sweet, candy-like, but very soft. This is one of those rare gourmands that won't give everyone around you a headache. I like it! It's not particularly interesting (and it's hard to describe for that reason), but it's nice and would make for a safe gift. It smells like the area between the floral and candy sections at a fancy grocery store, with the scents of both departments mixing together.

Sweet, creamy, fruity. First I though it smelled like peach and caramel, but looking at the notes it must be orange, ginger and praline. It’s great for the price, perfomance is average, can’t complain. Drydown is a sweet mix of orchid/vanilla, praline and musk. It smells good, I think it could be a crowd pleaser. The bottle is gorgeous, only minus is the cap - it’s kinda wobbly.

It's just a pleasant fragrance - light and happy, affordable, can wear as an every day scent or when you need an uplifting spritz. Because it's so inexpensive, it's a good one to keep in your collection. Even if you're not usually a fan of the notes, it's not a fragrance I would view as overwhelming or offensive so I'm a little surprised at some of the negative reviews.

Ivanka Trump perfume with some Good Girl Middle Notes. It is a grown-up sweet fragrance. Then it turns a little darker, more balanced (reminded me of GG) then settles to a light clean spicy sweet fragrance. It does change very subtly. Projects enough for someone to detect you are wearing it. Light projection, average to high lasting power (more than 6 hours).

Tester strip, cool day. Powery, in a make up sense, a little warm, soft and rounded, edgy like narciso, this is possibly In same family as their poudree. I cant tell what the warmth is. The ginger is not like Hermes' twirly, nor jpg cabaret, the spice feel is soft and smooth. I think the florals are warm and not discernable. I will skin test this one

Yummy, sweet, warm, and spicy. The perfect fall scent. I love wearing this to bed. A safe blind buy, in my opinion. Envision you’re in your house, fire place is on, it’s gloomy and rainy outside, you’re baking pumpkin bread, gilmore girls is on your tv. That’s what this scent encompasses to me. Cozy and comforting.

Reminds me of the rexona deodorant called sexy bouquet. Not in a bad way though I think this is a great everyday scent. It’s a little powdery and sweet with a hint of citrus and floral. Doesn’t smell cheap and it quite affordable.

I agree with @Stoicchild. This immediately made me think of a cold weather date night. And that’s exactly what I’ll use this for. The vanilla isn’t too strong. I think it’s balanced well overall.

An elegant, sofisticated and modern scent. Not to mention the luxurious bottle itself! Happy I bought this one! I imagine that not everybody likes this perfume, go try it first.

Very fall fragrance; candy and campfires, perfect for Halloween. I love it but don't see myself reaching for it in spring/summer.

I was suspecting that musk and ginger/ginger flower notes put me off and this perfume just confirmed that. It made me even confirm that some flowers (vanilla orchid or heliotrope here?) can put me off as well, depending on the composition of course. Despite kinda leaning towards being a modern, generic, boring perfume it can be actually a quite interesting scent for those who love musk and/or ginger notes, so I give it that. It's also quite fizzy, and yes, aquatic, in my opinion. Not meaning aquatic like sea smelling but, let's say, smelling "wet". I appreciate perfumes that intrigue me and this is one of those but I can only appreciate it, not wear it. I fell in love with it after testing it on paper when I was still new into the world of fragrances and didn't really understand how a perfume can drastically change on everyone's skin, so I bought a full bottle but even though I gave a second chance to it today, I had to wash it off cause it was almost causing me nausea (and I rarely wash off peŕfumes which says a lot). Like someone in the comments said, I don't see this as suitable for office wear at all and surely not a -thoughtful of others- choice for an airplane. And as Oenomel wrote below, it is a soft, spicy, floral, honeyed ginger. I also agree with Oenomel that it doesn't smell cheap or medicinal. Again, I respect the decent effort to stand out from the generic floral perfumes but cannot stand it on my own skin, unfortunately.

Synthetic Praline and musk are the most prominent notes in the dry down. For some strange reason, this reminds me of a sweeter more toned down Good Girl. 🤔Do a side by side comparison. I wonder if GG & Alibi use the same praline oil, this tells me this is heavy on the praline. I get hints of orange which disappear within the 2 hour mark. I don't get heliotrope or orchids. Nothing to write home about, I think this is good for the winter months. If I were to gift this scent, it would be to a teen. Silage isn't great, mostly a skin scent.

This was a blind buy for me . I got is based off the reviews here that said this was a vanilla gourmand scent. I'm not really getting vanilla , more like a soft citrus, clean but also sweet scent. A grown up version of clinique happy , minus the plasticky smell. I can see myself reaching out for this pretty often. It's a good daily perfume and for the price, I feel really good over spraying and re-applying if I need to. I would definitely repurchase.

First spritz was sharp, realizing now it is supposed to be mandarin but i just can't tell. Dry down was more sweet like a light syrup, but something sitting right on top of that was very swimming pool minus the chlorine. There was also a note that smelled like a relative to cinnamon, put me and my sister in the mind of Christmas floral decor. Also it doesn't project on me, I have to remember where it was sprayed. 4/10

Sure to be a crowd pleaser. Smooth, sweet floral. Not loud or screechy. I get an almost pineapple fruit note in the early dry down that keeps the gentle blossoms lively. Unfortunately about an hour in, it's just another generic floral vanilla and all the character is gone. Review of official carded sample that came free with purchase.

A pretty unremarkable sweet floral fragrance. All the notes blend together quite flatly. I like all the notes individually, I like all the qualities of this fragrance individually, but I feel saddened by how uninteresting this fragrance is. It's such a blank slate I don't even feel confident in saying it'd be universally pleasing.

Sadly it just isn't a memorable or interesting fragrance. One of the least likeable of the Oscar brand in my opinion. Very watery citrus with a slight whiff of ginger and Amber. The heliotrope does make a big appearance in the dry down but it doesn't somehow blend well with the other notes. Not impressed. Too generic.

I liked it but nothing special. I found the set for a really great deal so I said why not. Comparing the two. This smells very much like Alien Goddess. Very Vanillaish, soft, safe perfume. It doesn't last at all on me. Anywhere between 1-2 hours.

My mother sprayed a tester (3 sprays) on my wrist approx 2,5 hours ago and I can barely smell it anymore. Not a bad scent, though perhaps a bit dated? Can get a hint of vanilla, musk, and a bit of the ginger.

This is SO pretty but it's too watery for me.i don't thunk I'll wear it much. Like I mostly smell the watery notes. Nice, well done but not for me.

Waxy, aquatic, sweet, vanilla, floral. I don't detect any ginger. It's a nice, high-quality blend that just isn't for me.

Spring worthy boring fruity floral. It’s ok! Boring! Nothing special

I got a free sample of this when I ordered something else and boy, was I underwhelmed. This is definitely the opposite of my usual taste and it's just a bit too...sweet. I prefer big, robust spicy florals, and this made me think of those body sprays I used to get at Victoria's Secret. I'm can't really abide "pretty" scents in my grand old age of 35, they just make me relive my days of wearing Superlow Levi's and spraying my armpits with body spray after track meets. That said, if I detected this on someone else, I'd probably think it was nice, but this isn't for me.

im sad to say this didnt work for me..........i was hesitant when it first came out due to the ginger & praline notes but i finally thought i'll give it a try........well first its super weak..........and 2nd the notes just are not for me :( i think the ginger makes it kind of sour or tart smelling & the praline at first smelled delicious but faded so fast i was left with a weird sour tart smell........i do think the bottle is cool but overall not impressed........this will be gifted lol

Screechy, sweet, citrus with praline in the background....and a bit off putting. This smells quite generic to my nose....gets smoother in the drydown but waiting for it to smooth out is just too much. Not for me.

Alibi is incredibly musky on me, to the point where it just smells like BO. It looked good on paper but on me the reality is stinky and headache-inducing. Will be decluttering.

I was not a fan of this scent , I didn’t get sweet powdery , the ginger is strong.

Reading the reviews and looking at the notes got me thinking if I tested the same perfume. All I can smell is a tuberose, an obnoxious overwhelming tuberose that is omnipresent in modern perfumes. The scent is unpleasant and unfortunately very common. The drydown isn't much different but it reveals a bit of vanilla and some leather. Nauseating. Definitely NOT an office fragrance and please don't wear it on a plane.

i really don't like this, it makes me feel nauseous and gives me a headache it's most probably because of the ginger note i had high expectations because of the reviews but..... and one thing i can say is that this is no where near Valentino donna born in roma scent: no comment. longevity: had to scrub it off immediately, so i cant speak on it, no offence loves :)

Well, this is literally like any random perfume in your regular run-of-the-mill store that sells generic perfumes. Uninspired, cannot tell the notes, except the watery one and the praline, which don't even smell good...

I received a sample of this as part of a “Men’s Fragrance Sampler Pack” from Macy’s. I’ve never seen a men’s fragrance advertised by a model that looks like the one used for Alibi and the card confusingly reads “Inspired by the duality of women today...” So, kudos to America’s Department Store for embracing the whole “fragrance is genderless” thing. I’m an intrepid guy who’s been spending a healthy portion of my days bored at home. I spritzed Alibi on my hand. And enjoyed what came next. I was immediately struck by a smooth pairing of mandarin and vanilla. The mandarin kept things fresh while the vanilla was right at the perfect temperature, just enough to be very alluring and sexy. My mind forgot everything it knows about fragrance for a minute and I just thought “this is sexy lady perfume.” My head nodded along as my wrist took on a sensual, creamy, musky scent. Musk and vanilla lingered on my wrist when I woke up the next morning although it gave off a bit of a plastic-y feel. I know that’s not everyone’s favorite descriptor, but I still found it moderately licentious. Of course, the opening and first few hours were much more appealing, but points for longevity too. While I don’t have the deepest knowledge of women’s fragrances, Alibi soon reminded me of something else that I enjoyed quite a bit. Maybe a lavender-less Libre. I think there is also slight overlap with Twilly d’Hermes due to ginger, although Alibi is a smoother and sweeter scent. The spiciness here is toned down to a whisper. But my mind really lingered on Killian’s Rolling in Love, which gives me a similar sense of Vavoom! Perfume! Whatever the similarity is, it’s very familiar and very welcome. I like Alibi a lot but I’m not as progressive as Macy’s. I’m willing to go out on a limb and suggest that use by women was Alibi’s intend all along. Thinking back to the marketing line referenced above, there is something innocent but also a bit naughty in this fragrance. It may be familiar, but most guys I know like to be familiar with a sexy lady. Alibi could be her perfume.
