Bella Essence

Lovely scent in a beautiful bottle. "Bella Essence" is a mature, well-rounded fragrance with just the right amount of musk and ambroxan to lend a slightly salty, musky vibe. I love it completely. Ode to it not being tutti-fruity or with a double dose of those acrid, tart, fruit notes that tend to dominate some of the more well-known designer fragrances touted for women. I hate them. Maybe just a tad bit safe...however, I will never doubt the fragrance contains the essence of floral beauty. Gorgeous golden facade - I got the 50mL for $345TT here. The back of this bottle is translucent though, not opaque like "Bella Rosa" and "Bella Blanca". The box is a statement too, only this time it's gold. At the bottom of the box is a small note from the brand which says the fragrance is made from natural ingredients which may change colour over time, however, this does not affect fragrance quality. "Bella Essence" - a fragrance for women of all ages and stages. Romantic and 'hot'. As for longevity, I have not worn it yet but so far, its a hit in my fragrance notebook.

Bella Essence reminds me of a sleepover; laying on the floor of your friend's cozily furnished basement, doing each other's makeup and testing each other's Victoria's Secret body mists while eating skittles and drinking sparkling fruit punch. The air smells of lit vanilla candles and foreign detergent from the freshly laundered sheets that your friend let you borrow. Incredibly cozy! This is one of those fragrances you can spray in the air and walk into, and the scent will still last the whole day. The ambroxan does give me a slight headache when over-sprayed, but if I spray a normal amount it's totally fine (the scent in itself is so nice that I rarely care anyway hehe). I got a sample of it with an order from Notino, and this might be the first free sample that ever convinced me to buy a full bottle. It's such a fun fragrance, I'm so happy I discovered it!

I LOVE this fragrance; Very wearable but is unique enough to make you stand out. The scent is warm and comfortable, very sweet but not overbearing whatsoever. I wore this all day yesterday and the scent lasted for the majority of the day, so there is some good longevity on this one. It makes for a good day and night scent, so it can be versatile for any situation. I personally love this scent and is one my favorite of Oscar de la Renta's fragrances. Will probably get the most use out of it over the Summer time. Definitely give it a try!

This is very similar to Carolina Herrera "Very good girl"! Powerful blast of red currant in both of those scents, in the middle notes rose is opening up. They both very juicy and yummy like fruity-sour caramels that make watery mouth (also this scent in a direction of Escada "Show me love". Projection of Bella Essence is very satisfying- on my skin keeps some hours. For that price it is a wonder! One more Oscar de la Renta in my collection. P.S: became my favourite fragrance from all Oscar de la Renta's fragrances. LOVE

Wow, Clement Gavarry, (who has created Ariana Grande's Cloud) created a perfume that really respects the spirit of Oscar de la Renta. Bella Essence is ultra-feminine, elegant, heavenly. Very close to my old compliment getter, Fancy Love by Jessica Simpson, but I like this more, it's less sweet. I love the strong raspberry note in this. The scent is as beautiful as the bottle. This is my favorite of the 3 Bellas I have.

I absolutely love love love this! It’s starts off with a fresh blast of citrus, and very soon settles into something I thought was a really good sandalwood and musk, but according to the notes there is no sandalwood. I don’t know what it is but it’s glorious. I can’t detect the vanilla that is supposed to be there, which is a good thing as I don’t like vanilla. The bottle is gorgeous. My new favourite 🥰

this is beautiful ... I love this perfume so much but yet again for $81 the silage is awful , I have all three of these beautiful bottles and scents and have to decant and carry around re spray , I wish it lasted longer , all are so weak but so beautiful, the dry down is amazing and very close to the original burberry scent , crossed with Givenchy haute Couture

I described this to my girlfriend as "this smells like a store I can't afford to shop in" 😂 It has the vanilla-frosting basenotes I love, with elegant floral topnotes and some fresh grassy and peppery notes as well. As a lover of gourmand-sweet scents, this is definitely one of my favorites. 4.8 out of 5 stars

To me it smells just like baby powder/smarties candy but I actually really like it. It doesn't have that overly-mature, sickly perfume smell. I really wish the scent was stronger and lasted longer because I'm constantly having to respray it

Gah! This is gorgeous. I love the entire Bella line, but this is by far the most unique and beautiful. The grapefruit is fantastic in this. The perfume feels sophisticated, yet still approachable and appropriate for any occasion.

Bella Essence by Oscar de la Renta is fabulous! I smelled it and really loved it, like a warm musky vanilla patchouli scent. It lasts with about just 12+ hours and it is definitely worth the money.

This is my favorite of the three Oscar de la Renta Bellas... The opening is tart and fruity from the citrus and berries, the vanilla and ambroxan add a sophistication.

Very similar to Parfums De Marly Delina.So if you want Delina on a budget, this is it😀👍

One of the weaker perfumes I've ever bought; I had to double-check that my bottle was actually an EDP. On my skin, it's pretty much entirely gone within an hour or two. Almost everything else I own leaves at least a trace by that point, whereas I'll forget if I even sprayed this. However, I don't like strong sillage/longevity when I'm in a work environment or somewhere else that it might not be welcome, so it has its purpose. This is reminiscent of Clinique Happy to me, but sweeter, a little sexier, less unique/readily identifiable, and doesn't give me a headache. Fruity, definite citrus, tiny bit of spice. Think island vacation, you're wearing a sarong and sandals, it's dusk and you're looking for a place to sit outside and get drinks with whoever you came with, friends or partner--the scent can be either purely fun or a little sensual. Definitely warm weather, casual, upbeat, not complex. I hesitate to associate scents with ages but it's "younger" in the sense that I can't imagine this making an appearance in a serious context.

Powerfully sweet and fruity, but the sillage and longevity don't match that intensity. The bottle is beautiful. Glad I only paid $17.49 for my one-ounce bottle, I wouldn't repurchase, but it's nice enough. Might pass it along as a gift since it smells good and the bottle is so girly and pretty; I don't see myself reaching for this much since I already own many sweet scents that I like more (Amor Amor, LVEB, Idole, Angel, etc.) P.S. Burberry Woman is an OG beast and a favorite that I've worn on and off as a signature since 2009; Bella Essence does not smell or perform anything like it, in my opinion.

What a beauty Bella Essence is! Full harmony of sourness and light sweetness. Pleasant, light scent. Currant + grapefruit and vanilla + raspberry together smell amazing. Notes change from sweet to sour and back. Very delicious, feminine and positive fragrance. Longevity and sillage are good enough. The bottle is beautiful! It seems like real golden leaves. A fragrance to raise the spring and summer mood!

I really like Bella Essense. It works with layering other things. Sometimes I use Coco body lotion and then top it off with a bit of Bella Essense because it's not too intense and blends nicely with the Coco lotion. love this site by the way. Those of us who love scents become addicted.

It smells sweet without being nauseating. Fruity. I'd say it could be good for some occasions, but still kinda forgettable. I like the smell, but it's definitely not the kinda stuff I'd wear every day. Could be a good first perfume.

I got this perfume after smelling a tester at a pharmacy and realising it smelled similar to Taylor by Taylor Swift which was my favourite fragrance before it was discontinued. It is more of a daytime and casual fragrance.

A blind buy for me. Doesn’t last long but it smells really lovely. Quite delicate and feminine. I don’t mind topping up throughout the day as it was cheap & cheerful ☺️

Saw a tester of this and decided to give it a try with zero knowledge. Very strong from the initial spray! Something about this smelled regal to me. Fairy queen vibes!

Very vanilla, very sweet. The dry down is a musky patchouli that is very mild, warm. I think it’s pretty good. My husband hates it lol 6/10

I blind bought it yesterday and when I smell it remind me of my other perfume. This is 100% like Elizabeth Arden - 5th Avenue Style.

I wish the patchouli was dialed back just a bit more, but it's a nice, simple scent. Sweet and flirty.

Beautiful, elegant and feminine but definitely not what I expected. When I saw reviews about how this was sweet, gourmand, vanilla cookie-like, etc. I just knew I had to get a sample. I drooled over that divine bottle of course, but my wallet said no, so sample it is. First of all, this is a floral through and through. The first spray is a burst of blooming jasmine, rose petals and sharp grapefruit with just a touch of red berries. The vanilla is there, somewhere in the background, but it doesn't really become prominent for me at all throughout the dry-down. The grapefruit and jasmine are the strongest notes on my skin. I'm not mad at it, I'm really not, it just isn't the heavenly sugar cookie scent that I was dreaming about and me and very heavy floral scents just don't vibe very well. Nothing against them, I'm sure this is a dream for someone else and I can appreciate that it does smell beautiful and very classically "ladylike", but I prefer vanilla/caramel/fruity scents personally. Boyfriend's verdict: I like it. It's light and sweet. *sniffs once and goes back to COD and doesn't mention it again throughout the day...* Overall, it's okay, but do I think it's full bottle worthy? Probably not... Although, I'd be happy to receive this as a gift, mostly because the scent is likeable and effortlessly feminine but not very groundbreaking, and secondly, I mean, come on. That bottle is a work of art!

Oh my, ok, smelled it and really liked it, like a warm amberish scent at first ..bought it, and it is very fruity to my nose, and poor longevity..I think in a few months that one will be found real cheap..I regret buying it, it is a case of well, smells different now...still, I wear it, because overall I like the smell..but you need to spray a lot to smell it around you..now does it smell like skittles!? It is juicy fruity so any type of juicy perfume would smell maybe a bit like candies..I don’t know..I hesitated to buy it and I should have waited..oh well, there are worse perfumes out there !!

Aha Iknew this rang a very loud bell being so similar to: Taylor by Taylor swift, and the jess simpson one. Dead on same. The beginning is something rich and rounded is does not sing Taylor straight off, in about 20 mins you get it. Creamy fruit, I had wondered a britney but not quite her DNA... A bit hazey ish, mega peach schnapps, it's not fresh peach, defo schnapps plus a rounded non high pitch sugar sweet, It's not as in tour face as Taylor or Jessica, I'm getting a bitof dry downand it loses that rich deep peach density (a good thing for me.

This was a blind buy, it was on clearance for super cheap so I decided to pick it up. It’s extremely rich and fruity, I liked it at first but the longer I had it on the more nauseating it became. Raspberry is a very hit or miss note for me and in this it’s a big miss. I’d say if you like creamy sweet fruity perfumes, you’ll love this. I don’t think they necessarily smell similar, but if you like scents like Burberry Her Elixir, this’ll probably be up your alley too.

This is surprisingly fruity for a fragrance that claims to be floral. It's very heavy with grapefruit and raspberry and the florals are kind of almost lost here. Unfortunately another fragrance that's ruined by an ambroxen base. It's a very basic nondescript fruity floral that can be found pretty much anywhere. I personally prefer the Bella Rosa to this one for sure.

I thought I was going to love this by the description. This might be the weakest EDP I've ever tried. It barely lasts 15 min. The smell is fine, but the only thing I smell is citrus, grapefruit, fresh. I don't smell any raspberry, vanilla, powder or musk. This isn't bad, but a huge waste of money.

The bottle and packaging is beautiful. The smell isn't that bad it's just not for me. It's heavy on the citric side to me. I get a dry down of Lemons and limes too citric for me. The opening is floral and citricy. It's very weak as well. You have to really spray heavy. It's a no for me.

I smell like a bag of skittles. . . Now, if you're in to that you may like this fragrance but it's just not for me. When I tested this in stores on paper it smelled amazing, it smelled to me like very soapy jasmine with a burst of raspberry. It was very feminine, yet refreshing. I figured it would be perfect for the summer time so I bought the 1.0ff oz bottle without a second thought. The next day (today), I decided I wanted to test this out and was going to wear it to the office. The first 5 minutes were OK, I could pick up on the raspberry and there was a bit of sourness from the grapefruit but now all I smell are skittles, and that's just not the vibe I was going for. I cannot wait for this work day to be over so I can scrub this scent from my skin. It's far too sweet for me, it's very reminiscent of the cheap dollar store body sprays I used as a pre-teen. Pros: I will say this fragrance has outstanding projection and longevity. I've been wearing it for a few hours now and still have a scent bubble around me, and I have been told I smell "nice" by co-workers. Overall this fragrance seems to have great reviews, but sadly it does not work well with my skin chemistry.

No, I can't enjoy this. The notes look yummy but it has a strong sidenote that just reminds me of something similar to what I thought penicillin tasted like as a child. The adults told me it would taste like strawberry or raspberry and I happily prepared my tastebuds for a treat. It obviously tasted nothing like strawberry (not even anything like synthetic berry candy) nor like anything I had before or liked. Just weird and unpleasant. Sadly, I find this just the same. Thought it would grow with cooler weather too, but no.

actually smells like skittles. Once I smelled it that's all I could think of. Now I loovee sweet fragrances but this is just too candy like sweet. Nothing vanilla creamy sweetness just a load of sugar. Kinda like a victoria secret bodyspray sweetness. Really wanted to like this but I just don't want to smell like skittles :(

Love this. I didn't expect this to be like this. When reading the notes, I was waiting for something else. But please help me, this reminds me of some other scent. I can't say what it is, but when wearing this, I wonder what The other scent might Be. Can anyone help?

The scent is ok, very mainstream but thet s not the issue, on me it lasts max 30 min with about 10 sprays, on moisturized skin 🙃. Not woth the money in my opinion Please test it in store and wait a bit to see how it lasts on you, if you want to buy it

Okay so it is extremely familiar to me and figuring out what it reminds me of was tough. Yea Fancy Love is almost identical. I realized it also reminds me of Guess Dare which is alot more sour and high pitched, but they both have a very sour vibe throughout. Bella Essence is thicker, sweeter than Dare but so sour compared to Fancy Love, very fresh too. I did a side by side comparison on my skin. Bella Essence is hella sour (red currant, grapefruit). Fancy Love is sweeter, more ambery less sour than Bella Essence, more wearable, you can wear it in the winter too. Fancy Love is definitely the winner here for me. I think Bella Essence is nicer for the summer, its alittle like bug spray tho at first. Fancy Love and this one can be both nauseating to me tho, just like Playboy VIP is, all three have something like champagne (Fancy Love does have that) and sour/sweet that reminds me of a weird car polish detergent when I was a kid that always made me nauseous lmao. It's just a personal experience matter as far as how I perceive this scent. My bottle is authentic but the reviews here are so mixed, others say it is warm, gourmand and like a cookie, others, just like me say it is floral/sour. I mean it's fruity, citrusy, sweet and fresh for sure. Nothing spicy on me. I was expecting a warm gourmand scent like the Symetrie Harmony, and this is so NOT warm and def not a gourmand on me. Its a fruity floral. Explains the contradicting list, Amo is nothing like Burberry Women, at least on me. Also not an exact dupe for Amo to my nose at least, their drydown is very similar in the sourness on my skin. It is alot less sweet than Amo in the opening. Amo is syrupy sweet on me, like Apple Bottom's Nelly is, I consider these two pretty identical. Even from the sprayer Amo is so damn candy-sweet. I love Amo. I realize that I am not a fan of red currant, wherever I find it recently (Toujours Glamour Moschino).This is a perfume Id totally pair with something sweeter, possibly with BBW vanilla mist like the Whipped Vanilla Chiffon one that smells like fake bake to give it some weird sweetness. Theyre both different than others but if you have Fancy Love you dont need this.

~ I just received this " beautiful bottle " with an absofreakinglutely delicious 2020 Oscar de la Renta scent , it only has the gold leaves in front , back of bottle is a frosted glass with a white juice . I knew it was coming , I was told me to be on lookout for a package { best gift ever } . I have been talking about this since she launched . I was torn between this one and Bella Blanca , fighting over the decision in my head . So glad Bella Essence won { a little ego bruising took place } . I'm super jazzed to be the owner this fabulous , wearable in all seasons in my honest opinion with amazing notes , Here they are : TOP: Grapefruit , Raspberry , Red Currant MID: Rose Centifolia , Vanilla , Jasmine Petals DRY: Musk, Ambrox , Patchouli ~ I got grapefruit , raspberry , musk , right off with a touch of patchouli , rose & vanilla on dry down , and a hint of jasmine on paper . I was so excited I had to spritz once on my upper arm , lol ~ I'm so in " love " I'll have to get another bottle as soon as I can , this one will be gone far too soon . This reminds me of a fresh citrus salad with a spicy dressing , and edible flowers to add to a eye catching dish , no heat , just spice . I'll shower here soon and wear this with new sheets on bed , I might even spritz my sheets , yes I think I will , to take me away from reality of a day , the new normal , for a few hours into the unknown of " dreamland " ~ I hope to meet you there ~ lol ~ wink , wink ~ ///=^} ~ Edit : It was 95 here today , needed a shower and a tub soak which I always do in hot weather ~ I spritzed this about 6~8 times on wrists , arms and décolletage with a spritz on my top . A total delight ~ dinner now of a shrimp salad with a lemon vinaigrette , fresh corn on cob , garlic bread and ice cream ~ then "dreamland " here I come.

Bella Essence is surprisingly fruity with a heavy focus on red berries, raspberry and grapefruit. The overall blend is rather tart and juicy, softened by a somewhat synthetic white musk accord and dry patchouli. I agree that this fragrance shares many similarities with the classic Burberry for Women, a delectable powdery peach and vanilla fragrance. Bella Essence does not have a peach accord listed, yet the raspberry has a similar smooth creaminess when blended with the vanilla and musk. Some reviewers have described this fragrance as resembling a "citrus cheesecake" and I find this to be an apt description as there is an almost sweet gourmand aspect to this composition. I wouldn't personally purchase this fragrance for myself as I don't consider it a quality blend despite being very crowd-pleasing. I find the musk and ambroxan accords a little off-putting on my skin, and the performance fairly average with moderate sillage and poor longevity. I much prefer the more classic offerings from the Oscar de la Renta line, and although they may not have aged well over the years, I felt that these vintage fragrances embodied the elegance of the Oscar de la Renta brand better than their newer releases.

Bella Essence is an aromatic fruity floral. Something about the raspberry & red currant with the vanilla and the sweetness of musk is giving me melted ice cream vibes. It’s sweet, but on me, it’s also very light. I’ve had to wear this five times just to pick up on the scent at all. What I can smell doesn’t really strike me as perfume-y. I think I would like this scent more as a candle or a plug-in air freshener. I guess that’s because, even when I put my nose directly to my skin, it seems like something atmospheric. Its fruitiness makes me think it would have been really popular if it had debuted back in the day of early 00’s juice bombs like Incanto Shine, VS Bombshell, and Lucky You. The floral notes are very subdued, and the patchouli is not detectable at all. It behaves almost like an Eau Fraiche or body mist, rather than an EDP. This fragrance is not bad. It’s just hard to get excited about something I can barely smell.

I haven't tried most of the scents others are referencing, so this smells interesting to me. Definitely fills a spot in my scent library of white florals and indies that's currently empty. It's a fresh but elegant opening, not laundry or green. I suppose that's fruit done well. The dry down isn't as deep or powdery as the vintages, Chanels and Diors tend to get but there is a second level of scent. I wouldn't call it patchouli, but it's patchouli adjacent. In some ways I can best describe this by what it's not. Not overly sweet, not screechy, not chemical, not cheap. I might use up the sample or swap it, but it's a fine early evening dinner with your parents at Outback Steakhouse sort of scent.

Very strongly artificial fruit. If I had to hazard a guess as opposed to reading the notes here.. I'd've said peach.. Not unpleasant but nothing to write home about. I bought it in my quest to smell everything ever purported to smell like Burberry Woman. This does not btw. Not the old one.. not the new one either. It's way too strongly fruity so does not resemble the vintage, thus it doesn't resemble the new version, 'cos too strong. The bottle is not quite as impressive in person either, the gold flowers are a plastic panel just stuck on one side. Still pretty packaging though.

Very nice! The citrus and berries provide a crisp and delicious start, while the vanilla and ambroxan offer refinement. This is stunning. I adore the entire Bella collection, but this is by far my favourite. The grapefruit is delicious in this. The fragrance is elegant, but approachable and ideal for any occasion. It's a fantastic day and night smell, therefore it's adaptable to any occasion. Longevity and strength in silage. Lovely perfume in a lovely bottle.

i was very excited to try this. the notes look delicious. and it definitely is, it smells like a warm vanilla sugar cookie, but in a fancy way. way too sweet for me though. i didn't buy it because i think i would easily get sick of it. if you're a big vanilla/gourmand fan though, its worth checking out!

Note For Myself: My boyfriend bought this for me and I loved it so much but as I continued to wear it more it just smelled so cheap to me... it is very possible that it is because it was hot ? So I’d suggest wearing this in the fall, warmer winter days, and cool spring days.
