Blue Orchid

I blind bought this as a gift for a friend who loves citrus fragrances and ocean scents. Blue Orchid is a combination of these two types. I was shocked to find I loved Blue Orchid so much that I bought one for myself, too. On my skin, it opens with a strong juicy blast of sweet mandarin orange and cranberry juice. It's so delicious I could drink it ! Then a blast of salt mixed with jasmine and driftwood arrives, floating like a cloud, then settling into a watery lotus scent. As it dries down, soft sandalwood blends in with a gentle touch of light white musk. I can still smell mandarin orange and cranberry from start to finish. This very feminine, pleasing, refreshingly uplifting mixture is great for all ages and all seasons, day or night. Blue Orchid lasts on my skin easily 8 hours, and lasts forever on fabric. Non offensive, this scent is perfect for office wear, since it wears closer to skin after the first hour. What a wonderful find ! My friend and I both absolutely love Blue Orchid !

I initially bought it because of the bottle and my favorite color is blue. It was a blind buy and there were very few reviews for this specific flanker. Fortunately, I made the best decision of purchasing this before it sold out in FragranceX! I smelt sea salt and lotus in Blue Orchid. I couldn't pinpoint what I really liked about this fragrance until I experienced customizing perfume at a store and sniffed different notes. I found out that I love the smell of sea salt and it was ironically sweet but not sickly. Longevity is not at its best but it's expected since it's meant to be light. It makes a great office and casual scent. Biggest con is that this is discontinued. I have already consumed a third of it so when I run out, I can't repurchase it. So, I'll make the most of it.

I blind bought this and I gotta pat myself on the back because it was another blind buy success! This is a beautiful, light and fresh/airy scent. It’s watery (in a good way) and delicately sparkles. This is how I see it in my mind’s eye. This is such a perfect scent for spring and summer days! I think it’s a great office scent too. Not heavy or heady at all. I think it’s the lotus I’m picking up through the dry down that really blends well with the rest of the base notes. It’s dainty and feminine. Not my usual go-to when I pick a scent for the day but it will have its place because I really do love it!

I love this fragrance, just like I love Ming Shu Fleur Rare by Yves Rocher - the same DNA. Today I sprayed just once on my hair, went outside and it's been 8 hours since and I still smell it. Transparent Floral Aquatic. Tender, yet voluptuous. I love spraying it on my sheets just before bedtime, and when in bed imagining myself on the water and smelling this sweet crystal and wonderful scent of fragrant water lilies. When I wake up in the morning I smell this fragrance. Lilies are my favourite flowers.

This review is to ScorpionX's review. Why not Orchid??? Have you smelled many orchids? There's MANY fragrant orchids: some smell pleasant, other very unpleasant. Some orchids produce a scent only at night or after dark. Blue Orchid it is! I use it as a bedsheet/clothing/hair spray year around and it lasts for days, when you spray it on your body only in summer and it does not last over an hour. I get more enjoyment from this fragrance than you.

I thought I had left a review for this but I guess not! I’ve had this for a while now and didn’t really ever get into it, so trying to clean out my collection I found it and gave it a solid shot and omg I love it! It’s so fresh, so airy. Work friendly not over powering! For a 20 dollar blind buy!!! Don’t mind if I do!

Intoxicating, I love it! It smells clean but also a bit sweet, reminds me of Curious by BS a bit. It smells like the color blue. Got this in a sampler and had to purchase the full size. If you typically like sweet scents, this is a clean scent that you'll probably like!

This smell like the perfect smell for me when i want to feel fresh, citrusy smell in a floral kind of way! It sits on my skin for a moderate amount of time but sits more on my clothes. Love it!

This smells like a slightly cooler summer night in the field. It is a good date night scent . It dives me into a dream somehow...🦄🌠🌟

Like ScorpionX I’m somewhat confused by the name, mainly because orchid isn’t listed as a note. The most prominent note to my nose is lotus, so Blue Lotus would’ve been a more logical choice for the name in my opinion. It doesn’t bother me, but it’s an odd choice.. one would think they’d named it blue orchid either because there’s orchid in the juice, or because they want to give the impression of a tropical scent, which this isn’t either.. even the description only mentions lotus flowers and not a word about orchid. Weird! On to the actual scent.. this scent is very pretty. I’m not a big fan of aquatics, or freshies, as they’re often too sharp to my nose.. but this scent is very gentle and soft. It’s aquatic without being aquatic. The bottle design and the sheer blue colour fit the scent well. Blue orchid has a beautiful translucent quality that makes it ever so delicate. It opens citrusy, but sweet. There’s no overwhelming blast of citrus, it’s sweet mandarin and cranberry.. juicy, soft and sweet. The salt note is present, but very subtle. It gives this just a hint of ‘spice’. It’s not a prominent salt note like in Olympea for instance. Is there, but it’s very delicate. After the opening the fragrance is centred around the lotus, which gives it its beautiful aquatic quality. It’s dewy rather than truly aquatic. There’s a watery quality, but it’s subtle. There’s something shampoo-y about this too, like walking outside on a crisp spring or summer morning, fresh out of the shower, the scent of shampoo mingling with the dewy morning scents of nature. It’s a dreamy, happy scent for spring and summer days. It’s very pretty. It’s not the most complex scent, but it’s not generic or bland at all. It’s the kind of pretty, simple spring/summer scent that goes with a pretty summer dress. It’s inoffensive so it can be worn in any setting. I saw someone comment that it’s discontinued, but it seems to still be widely available at online discounters, so I’m not sure if that’s true. It’s very affordable, so you can’t really go wrong with this. It’s an aquatic for those who don’t like aquatics. It’s a pretty safe blind buy I think, unless you utterly despise floral aquatics.

I'm puzzled by the naming of this fragrance. Blue, ok, maybe because of the initial salt water breeze scent, but Orchid? Nope, not nearly exotic enough to qualify as an orchid. A watery floral yes. Driftwood & Pond Lily may be an apt description, but Blue Orchid I have to admit sounds more appealing, if not misleading. It was as others have said a blind buy, at a very reasonable price. As a 100 ml room/bedsheets spray it's a bit much, but as a body fragrance, heck it is reasonable. It is a fresh, floral, salt water breezy fragrance. Unfortunately, the salty oceanic scent fades rather quickly into a faint watery musk floral with not much sillage. It's appeal is the salty ocean breeze scent, so I would have loved it if that note dominated and lasted longer. Heck, it most likely was never meant to last longer than an hour as it is a close to the skin light fragrance suitable for summer to be lavishly sprayed often and I mean only to be worn in warmer weather. If you're seeking an inexpensive light summer fragrance it hits the mark. A good deal for the price, but doesn't live up to its exotic name. The bottle is pretty.

Love the combo of salty, fruity, woody, aquatic notes. Gives an airy summer night in a north east way (sail boats with fairy lights in a new York or new England harbor) or even Italy or Spain in the summer. A unique fragrance. Lasts long but it's an intimate scent so it doesn't hang in the air much. Good light perfume for the office, just use sparingly and add a couple splashes of body spray. I got it as a gift and I'm not mad at it. Could be good for a night out. It's mature but it's not grandma perfume. Could be good for fall or new years as it is a bit magical and mysterious.

I bought this also at SDM several months ago and I am giving this a wearing today. I like it so far, it does smell aquatic to me like I would imagine a water lily or water lotus would smell, if there is a water lotus, lol. It's different, I don't have anything like it in my collection. But, it does not smell like your usual aquatic, kind of like laundry detergent as so many of them seem to. It could be the musk. This one is intriguing to me. I'll see how the longevity goes. It is as hot as Hades today. So I think this scent is weather appropriate and I'll enjoy it now.

Very unique, like nothing else I have in my collection. It's like you're at an ocean beach, woody, aquatic, salty. All in a good way. The floral and fruit notes are there to balance it but very blended into the background. I definitely get the musk. Not your typical floral or fruity fragrance. I like it for it's atypical scent.

I love Blue Orchid...such a fresh clean fragrance, like walking on the beach smelling the salt air and passing a beach home with a beautiful garden of orchids and jasmine, and some narcissis mixed in!! I agree it lasts longer on your clothes. I will buy it again!

This was given to me as a gift, and a good scent. Smells like a literal orchid in a bottle. Never knew its name and I already smelled fresh flowers from it. Great spring and summer scent. Longevity is so-so, same as the sillage. Overall a good floral scent.

Hate this on first spray. Kept smelling it as it dried down. Finally, a half hour later, it is pleasant but still not my vibe and at this point it is pretty much a skin scent. If I wear this, it is going to be during summer when I'm running to the grocery store and don't care about making a long lasting impression. It's okay. I'm curious to try this again in warmer weather (right now it's in the high 60's) because it got great reviews. Bottle is gorgeous and I really like Ruby Velvet in the same line. I get similar vibes (not a dupe by any means) from Alfred Sung Jewel on the dry down, but Jewel is sweeter while still maintaining that freshness and heady floral vibe.

I bought this blind expecting it to smell like the ocean. Well, this isn't so much marine or aquatic to me, as... cloud. It smells to me like a "smart cloud". A nice, blue cloud in a smart, blue dress. It's nice, clean and fresh, but it isn't a stand-out fragrance that leaves a big impression. It's like a pleasant breeze.

Idk why but I smell green grass in the beginning then a beautiful aquatic scent ! Very fresh, mostly for spring/summer.

Am I in a different perfume universe? This is not fresh at all to me! I bought it hoping it was going to be an amazing ‘freshly’. Instead it is a cheap hairspray smelling mess to me. I am not getting any of the notes or ‘fun’ other people are subscribing. Sharp and nasty, lol On a good note, Oscar has not done me dirty until this perfume! I still love my other ‘ Perfs’ from Oscar!

It reminds me strongly Ralph Lauren - Ralph, got the full bottle since the price was a bargain, nonetheless will weary primarily at home on those lazy days. It’s like a soulless inoffensive perfume that is gone after 90 minutes, yet it gives you a sense of happiness any time you spray it. I keep it in my bathroom and spray it on any time I wash my hands. 😀

Some aquatics tickle my nose and are too overbearing. This one is mellow and makes you smell clean on a hot summer day! It does fade to a skin scent, but that's what I like in the summer.

Clean and fresh and very long lasting. Perfect for hot muggy summers.
