Granada

The above notes list for Granada is definitely incomplete (even to my uneducated nose), so here's another (courtesy of Basenotes) which I think may be more accurate: Top Notes: Italian Bigarade, Italian Bergamot Middle Notes: Indian Jasmine Sambac, Madagascan Black Pepper, Indian Cardamom Base notes: Mate Tea, Laotian Beeswax, Tunisian Rose Absolute Thanks to previous reviewers for describing this so well - they inspired me to blind buy a bottle; it's discontinued, getting a sample to try is nigh on impossible, so bought a nearly full 100ml bottle of Granada, from a private seller on eBay UK. I couldn't be more pleased - this is a beautiful, gently spiced floral, which I think is probably wearable all year round; there's sweet, soft citrus, ideal for hot, sunny climates and warm but delicate spices for cooler weather. Granada is nothing like any of the perfumes I own and I don't remember having testing anything similar either. Granada is a delight and definitely worth scooping up if the (corrected) notes appeal to you. I spritzed once to the back of my hand about five hours ago and upgraded from "like" to "love" in the last thirty minutes. It's fairly linear, smelling virtually the same as when first sprayed, although the initial orange top notes faded within five minutes. I can't smell "Tunisian rose absolute", but it's chilly this evening; it may become apparent when it's warmer. I suspect Granada may even attract bees and hoverflies, it smells so deliciously of honeyed flowers. I'll test the bee theory in summer (not that I particularly want to be pursued by them, but it will be an interesting outcome if the experiment works. I do love bees...).

Anyone for a lemony Lady Grey? If you like your Earl Gray with a twist of lemon while sipping on a veranda spilling over with fresh blossoming flowers, then decide, "Nevermind, I'll just take this one to wear and go"? Then this fragrance is speaking volumes to you. While I agree with others that feel this is a linear fragrance it is so but it changes by degrees, becoming less, sharp, losing its bite, stopping just short of becoming a bergamot lemon drop grown up lollipop, due to the (beeswax, and dare U detect sweet pipe tobacco?). It is very familiar and I feel it is so reminiscent of "Pomme d' Or, by Evody, a fragrance I found on a European website, 'Aus Lieb zum Duft.de. I feel Pomme has more lemon, less bergamot. This can be unisex,as most citrus/bergamot fragrances can, but the florals shouldn't be off-putting. Great for anytime, any day. Dry down...what dry down?? I can't seem to get to it because I keep reapplying. Not because it is too light; I just enjoy the top and middle notes so much! FBW I got mine @ TJ MAXX for $12.99 (3.4 oz); it was the last one. My advice: buy any that you see. This is one of those sleeper fragrances...don't buy now...regret later.

I like florals but I am always wary as so often they are migraine inducing disasters for me. Well, I know its quite a claim but this must white floral fragrances that I have had the pleasure to try. I didnt hang about purchasing a fb. This pricey range is now selling quite cheaply so dont miss out. It has a creamy quality that keeps jasmine and neroli rounded. It is though more of a fresh, light, orange blossom fragrance more than anything else. I dont get any pepper thankfully. It smells expensive. The rose adds some sweetness but not too much. Good sillage and longevity. This is one fragrance to treasure.

Got this beauty in a swap, and I have to say it's everything I hoped it would be. It is indeed as said, WHITE FLORAL which means a bright youthful and elegant jasmine! I was afraid it would be a 'heavy cheap 90's jasmine' if you know what I mean.. but it's very up to date, cheerful light, a bit green and bright! The longevity is awesome!! lasts forever really. it's very romantic, elegant and positive fragrance... very suitable for a romantic occasion! Doesn't remind me any other scent I know.. Pure Spanish love in a bottle!

I just found a 3.4 oz bottle of Granada at TJ MAXX for $19.99! The original label from Neiman Marcus prices it at $150.00. The packaging and bottle are so beautiful. Even if I didn't like the fragrance I would keep this just because it's a beautiful addition to my collection. Happy, happy!!
