Jasmine

JASMINE SOLIFLORE. Opens with a burst of neroli supported by multi-faceted bergamot, and after a quick glimpse of an animalic note it transitions quickly into the gorgeous jasmine heart with luscious, velvety, near-licorice, near-violet, powdery, floral & fresh facets, all resting on a floral support base of beeswax and faintly spicy amber-woods. Some reminders for me of London Burberry & Something Blue Oscar de la Renta. Totally addictive. I only have a small sample, but I'm curious how a full bottle would develop. From my sample I'm getting a beautiful jasmine soliflore, but performance is questionable. Nevertheless it's a love for me. 10/10 for a light summer jasmine. Enjoy! Update 08/03/24: Dabbed this on this morning from a tester and really enjoying the fresh clean jasmine sweetness. To my nose, neroli is soft version rather than sharp, and all the notes support a clean, sweet & slightly green-leaning jasmine. Performance is moderate but good for spring-summer. Still a love, and so refreshing & relaxing. Update 08/16/24: Love this so much. I'm noticing a bit of a green-tea background when smelling up close, but in the air an ethereal, watery. green-leaning jasmine blooms.

I went ahead and bought this scent because I had to try it for myself. There are no reviews on any site that I can find. The notes are helpful but nothing is better than smelling for ones self. The bottle is a beautiful dark blue greenish color and the shape is typical of the other Oscar perfumes mostly. At first sniff, I smell lots of floral. Really a lovely floral. Then all of a sudden the green hits my nose. The green is a bit much but it fades so it is okay. It only comes in an EDT so I do not expect it to last too long. It could surprise me. I love jasmine and orange flowers too. I am not sure what ginger orchid smells like so I will wait and see if more comes to surface. I am actually enjoying this fragrance very much right now. I will edit my review after wearing it a few days and how the scent matures.

Oscar de la Renta's "Jasmine" is beautiful and it made me feel so happy. It is an expression of how a true abstract jasmine fragrance should be. The citruses in this all smell like peaches to me! And it adds a freshness and lightness to the jasmine that I really do enjoy. Also, the bottle is just this gorgeous shade of green, the cover expressive and unique. I am a jasmine lover and I appreciate it especially at night for it has a way of "coming out" in any fragrance I wear in the evening after being shy during the day. Very lovely and exquisitely feminine, I would love to have one one day. To all who own and love it, congratulations!

I’ll start this the same as I did the others I got-this came in a box set trio of ODLR minis( this, rose and e’spirit) and I was kind of on the fence about this but the more I wear it the more I like it, so I switched my “like” to a “love”. It’s fresh (totally my vibe), it’s lightly floral and a bit green-which I love that mix. I got the box for $19.99 at SDM and the bottles are actual minis of their big sisters/brothers lol and are dabbers. This I think I will try to find the full size-only for a good price of course but I like it enough to totally buy it!!

First whiff: Beautiful white florals with green leaves, fresh, light, cooling without being aqueous. Clean. Dry down: Mellows into orange blossom, with gardenia and the faint hint of jasmine makes its presence known. Remains light. Elegant. Hot weather: excellent performance in heat. Great on fabric and skin alike. Cool weather: Still lovely, but the green notes come out more. I have only received positive compliments from this, from many people, even people who typically hate most perfume. A crowd pleaser. Gorgeous green floral.

I absolutely love this! It is a beautiful, full-bodied, lush jasmine but it is also dewy and soft, almost like a silk fabric. Not harsh or screechy at all. Orange flower complements the jasmine beautifully. It reminds me of the scent of jasmine flowers in an Andalusian garden on a warm summer night

The opening for this one turned me off. I left the store without buying it after trying a tester. Later on, I did like the dry down, though not enough to go back to pick it up. It is fresh and floral, a little bit sweet. I have several others in this line and I really enjoy all of them. This jasmine one was the only exception. Update: I had to give it a chance since I love all the other ones in this collection. Having worn it now a few times, I found that the first sprays from the bottle were not great. I don't know if it needed to settle or get those first sprays out but it's very beautiful now every time I wear it.

I blind bought this one from SDM because I really like jasmine. The jasmine in this one is clean and fresh, almost green. I often diffuse pure jasmine essential oil in my home and I immediately got that exact same smell when I first sprayed it. It's not a sweet or heavy jasmine. I wish it lasted longer on my skin... It disappears super fast. I also own Beauty by Calvin Klein, which is strong on jasmine, and I can say that the note is dramatically different in that one (Beauty is heavy and long lasting on me). Nevertheless, I think it could be interesting to layer this one, if you like white florals.

Lovely take on a white floral fragrance. It starts off very fresh, citrusy, and green. Then after a bit the flowers come through. I can't pick out a jasmine note, or any specific flower note. It's just a creamy white floral bouquet. I think the citrus and green notes brightens it up and makes it very wearable in warmer weather, when heavier white floral fragrances can turn cloying. Staying power is weak unfortunately. But as it's a budget friendly fragrance, it can be applied liberally and freshened up often.

Refreshing but so disappointingly short lived... This is an unfortunate theme among the more recent offerings from Oscar de la Renta. Love the citrus notes! The floral side is subtle. Reminds me of jasmine green tea which is one of my favourite beverages. It would be a perfect spring day fragrance if only it lasted more than an hour. I do have unusually thirsty skin so others may have more luck. At least at this price point I can douse myself in it. That bottle fits right in on my 1950s dressing table!

Thank you to whomever was able to find the notes listed! I bought this months ago at Ross out of sheer curiosity and was never able to find anything out about it... to the point that I wondered if it was FAKE! It Is definitely a jasmine perfume, with the good old, tried and true, cozy ODL background layering. I like it but wear others more frequently so I'd be willing to swap if you're a jasmine lover (like I thought I was.. but our tastes and preferences do change as we age!)

I greatly enjoy this!! I happen to love a jasmine scent and basically any white floral. Then, when you throw in ylang ylang, then it’s a winner for me!! I consider it an affordable gem for the summer heat! It wafts in The air much like Tocca’s Florence does for me and I love it! This wears a little lighter but is so affordable you can spray away!

Blind bought this after reading review from @StarMagix. It is fresh, and has a hit of Jasmine, and I smell Gardenia too. The ginger is also there, effervescent and fizzy. I need another test run. I found this at TJ Maxx, I would not spend more than $20.00, I will update again. Reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia.

i get a lot of neroli and jasmine at first with some citruses, then the tuberose blooms. it's a greener tuberose, not a sweet one. i get a hint of woods and tonka but not much. it's a soft fresh, green tuberose primarily. it fades quickly unfortunately. very pretty for spring!

Really nice juice for the summer. Fresh, a little sweet, refreshing but has depth and comfort. Unfortunately, it all goes away in 5 mins so it's my 5year old's. Someone had suggested it as a before-bed scent and I can get behind that.

Paring this with Alfred Sung's Sung (Arden's reformulated version, which is said to be an awful reform). Compliments each other greatly.

I want to love this, I really do, but I hate it. It's masculine, woody, musky and the florals fall flat. I love the La Renta bottles so I felt this would be worth the low price. I was picking up the beeswax notes so I decided to layer this with Everlasting by Nanette Lapore, a very honey forward perfume and something magical happened. It sweetened up the Jasmine and the woody notes dialed down the sweetness of Everlasting. Layered this can be gorgeous, on its own, horrible.

Not as I expected, too watery with a light scent of white flowers, I expected more jasmine and sweeter notes, but none of them . This perfume is not for me, typical modern, weak, artificial smell

Somewhat unisex. Fragrance of the green tea with the jasmine. Someone, who has ever drink jasmine tea will understand what I mean.

I am devastated by this perfume. I absolutely adore Jasmine and have been eyeing this up for ages. I finally took the plunge and bought this on sale for $20. The bottle is gorgeous. However that's where any positives end. This smells of industrial hand soap! That thick chemical smell that can only be applied to bulk hospital stock. It's almost spicy it's so filled with the smell of detergent. This doesn't remind me of an older generation of perfumes. This reminds me of sickness and decay. I'm just absolutely lost. Even when I have a fragrance I don't love I can usually find some satisfaction with it but this I think is either going to the trash or hopefully someone will have COVID and find it useful in determining if they have lost their sense of smell or not. Just wretched.

Gross! Yeah, my mom I guess saw this alluring green bottle, size and $19.99 pricepoint at Shopper's Drug Mart and suggested it as a potential mother's day gift. While heading to that store for a beverage today, I spotted it before the drink...one left...and opened! :D Ugh, I did look it up before and it said it was mild...omg yeah took three sprays to find out it smelled like Barbasol! Can't say the bottle doesn't evoke an image of it a l'il, lol. But yeah, no floral, mild, gross, so not for mommy, LOL(I instead bought her one she huffed before and like, 'Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely') Sad 'cause this bottle seemed like it'd have been a better deal(being newer and double the size) but in this case you get what you pay for. lol.

Tracyarts has a perfect review of this, see below, in my opinion. A creamy white floral that is 'green' enough to do well in quite hot weather. But it's not the type of green I was looking for, alas. Personally I was looking for something more of a stinky natural jasmine. This is not really about the essence of jasmine. Again, Tracyarts explained it perfectly. A creamy floral bouquet. Sometimes I oddly crave something like this, which to me is more on the gardenia side, during the coldest part of winter. But generally, it's not the style I want. So if that's what you're looking for, great! Because it's pretty affordable.

When I tested this, I came to Fragrantica expecting the description to say aquatic. I'm glad I didn't blind buy it. I already own much nicer white florals. I don't hate it, but the only thing about it that really captures my attention is the bottle - love the colour.

Loved every single note but the tuberose and woods and I couldn't get past it. Got this as a gift bc I liked other ODLR perfumes before but I passed this along to a friend. It lasts long but it's not for me.

For me, this perfume is just okay. I felt that the sweet floral scent was overpowering, and was dissapointed at how one note it smelled. It is greatly missing some masculinity or fresh scent to balance out the sweetness, which is what I had hoped the lemon and other notes would do. While it does have what I can only describe as a 'softness' to it, I simply feel disappointed for what this perfume nearly was. And it was nearly a great scent. Unfortunately it's too plain and too strong. Too sweet. And lacking any real sophistication. Great scent for an early 20's who is still trying to find their signature. I imagine having the collection on rotation would be fun for someone who has no interest in sticking to one particular scent. It's in very sporadic rotation in my own collection.

This is a barely there fragrance which disappears within minutes. The jasmine, if it exists, must be gone in seconds. I detect vanilla and Tonka and then, poof it disappears. I believe this is good for scenting bed linens before sleep and that is about all. It might make a pleasant scent for drawer liner paper for lingerie items, or scenting stationery. Very, very soft. You could spritz a little girl’s dress with this. Some feminine fragrances have a lovely faintness after time. This one is faint from the start. It might last longer on clothes but I wouldn’t even try it as the scent is so wispy. Pleasant but utterly forgettable.

I purchased this because I was curious and found it at a good price. I bought the red flanker in the past and was disappointed, so this one was a gamble. This one I do like ! It's good for summer if you don't want anything sweet and cloying for the summer. Green and floral. Not much like jasmine to my nose, contrary to its name, but a great wearable everyday scent. I wear Pure by Alfred Sung regularly in the summer , and this makes for a good alternate. This is a keeper. And at $19.99, it's a winner.

I was in a store and saw an open box of this fragrance. For some reason decided to spray on my knitted heavy cardigan. Well, what I smelled right off the bat made me feel good and reminded of a fragrance I smelled before, more likely in the 90s. I love strong and rich the 90s scents. However, later I found this scent on my cardigan a bit tiresome. Perhaps, on the skin it would be different.

Nice, simple, linear jasmine scent. Could work if you're a white floral lover. On the downside, this perfume is so ephemeral you forget having sprayed it on, 15 mins later! Not even with cheap B.U. or lowest-end celebrity fragrances, did I experience such low longevity. Would buy if that issue was fixed.

There's this mint-like note I don't care for in this. The jasmine smells nice but, there is no depth or longevity. I really wanted to like it because I love Oscar fragrances but, this one is probably going to be given away. I was wanting something similar to a dewy jasmine via Alfred Sung original.

After @Raylene81's gross review, it is hard to get close to this scent and do it justice. I so wish reviews would have a "report comment" feature, just like on Facebook. So many times, my experience on this site was ruined because of comments like that.

Makes me wonder what the heck is going on with the Oscar line. I found this a very linear, simple and somewhat cheap rendition of a jasmine scent. And unisex? Hmmm....I guess I just don't equate jasmine with male scents. I expect better from Oscar.

I wanted to love this one. The bottle is such a gorgeous color. It's beautiful. The scent however... Eau de Lubricated condom. I don't even think layering could make this right. It smells like greasy latex. 🍆💦😳

The bottle is lovely. It opens up with licorice and settles down into a jazzy, vintage jasmine. My first thought is that it would be a great scent for layering.

How does one not know a fragrance that’s called “jasmine” is a white floral? -_-‘

It’s pretty nice fragrance, not very strong but very pleasant to wear.

Big hand-soapy scent that doesn't wear or evolve for very long.

I love the bottle but this smells really terrible to me
