Souk Honey

TikTok made me do it! As a honey lover who usually avoids vanilla-forward scents, I was intrigued by promises of a gourmand that doesn’t make you smell like a Christmas cookie. This was not something I was initially over the moon about. The opening is very white floral, and much stronger than I expected and it completely overshadows the honey and gourmand notes I was looking forward to. It doesn’t come across as old or stuffy, but it definitely isn’t what I had in mind based on the name. Sillage is great though! Just one spray filled my entire bathroom, and it lingers far longer than I anticipated. That said, the dry down is lovely, and my husband can’t get enough of it by the end of the day he literally buries his nose in my neck! I still can’t decide whether I love or hate this perfume. I do enjoy the dry down, and I’ve been experimenting with layering it with other fragrances to bring out the honey notes I was hoping for. Edit: I have been wearing this consistently and concluded that it is a win and I love it! I have gotten over my shock at the strength of the neroli in the opening notes and love the heart and base of this perfume. It's also great when layering with a contrasting smell: Oui the People has recently released "Sunday Lime" which smells like eating a vanilla ice cream cone on a wet breezy beach as the tide goes out. Wearing the two together has been fantastic!

I am totally taken by surprise when it came to this fragrance. I ordered it as a duo with island milk cause I figured it would be cheaper to get the combo and was influenced by all the reviews on TikTok. I’ve never been so happy to be influenced! The honey is light; not syrupy and strong. The scent doesn’t come off as cloying while also packing a punch. The longer you wear it, the more it transforms and you’ll be able to smell every note it contains. It’s also a great way to make other scents smell fresh and new via layering.

This is stunning. Every time I smell her, my eyes roll back in my head. She is deep yet light at the same time. Perfect for fall-spring. White florals play well with honey. Sandalwood hides just in the background giving her a solid base. The opening is extremely floral while the dry down all the scents intermingle in the most perfect way. She is for a woman not a girl. She instills confidence and calm. ❤️

Souk Honey makes me think of hummingbirds. It’s rare to find a honey scent that smells natural, floral, and non-powdery — I imagine all the pollinators will flock to whoever wears this.

Was definitely expecting more of a honey forward scent but I'm not necessarily mad at it! There's a bit of spice underneath the earthiness which I really like. It's definitely not gourmand but the honey is present. I personally wouldn't be layering this under (or over) anything too pronounced. Maybe something woody and warm, like an angels' share type. Souk's dry down is soo comforting I can just imagine the warm fuzzies you'd get layering the two. Regardless, I really like it! great blend and great first impression of OUI.

I like this one, but the longevity isn’t there. It’s a sweet, floral fragrance but not sickly sweet. It’s warm here in the South and I was still able to wear this today. Sillage is moderate for an hour or so, then it becomes a skin scent and in 2-3 hours I can’t smell it at all anymore. I wish it had better longevity.

I want to like this one. My journey in expanding my collection of honey fragrances is what originally swayed me to purchase Souk. I was honestly expecting a more subdued, honey-forward fragrance. For a fresh bottle, Souk is absolutely potent. I was admittedly overwhelmed when I first tried it on, and it followed me the remainder of the evening. One particular note in Souk isn’t getting along well with the others. If I had to choose, it’s likely the date note listed on the website. Paired with honey, it makes for a saccharine quality that isn’t really necessary, here, as honey would naturally be the star of the show. For me, the rest of the composition seems to be fighting itself. Beyond the syrupy blast, it’s not sure which direction it wants to take— almost spicy, almost floral, almost citrus. A push in any direction and toning the sweetness down would make this one sing. I’m hoping it’ll be more compatible with time. For now, it definitely wears me.

This is definitely more of an earthy THIQUE honey with a strong spiced syrup accord. This is not your smooth airy Miel Bébé by LMG or Honey Oud by Bellavita.
