90's Vanille

One of my most successful blind buys! This is such a rich, realistic vanilla that just gets deeper and richer over time. I bought it because most “vanilla” perfumes have so many extra notes that they barely smell like vanilla in the end but this one does. It’s pure vanilla with a ribbon of caramel on top. The caramel isn’t too sweet either, even though it’s definitely gourmand. What makes it stand out for me is that it doesn’t have that usual tonka or balsamic base that most vanilla scents rely on, it smells cleaner and more focused. If you want a true vanilla fragrance without any floral, citrus, musk, or fruity notes etc this is the one for you. I get a solid 8 hours on skin with about 5–6 sprays, and it’s pretty strong. Honestly, this is the best vanilla, period.

The notes and description here aren't accurate, or doing this fragrance justice, I think. According to the Overose’s site: Top notes: Vanille orchidée, Waffle, Hedione Middle notes: Caramel, Tonka milk infusion, Crème brulée Base notes: Cashmere musk, Whipped benzoin balsam, Vanilla bean It's supposed to open with waffle and orchid, and "a flash" of hedione. The heart is tonka milk and caramel, and the drydown is supposed to be cashmere musk and "vanilla bean pulp in crème brûlée". No palo santo or praline or booziness as its been listed to have here. Also, it says that the hedione is very “translucent", and the perfume doesn't smell citrus or floral, which is what it’s been marked as on the accords. Wish I could have her. All the notes sound so good, especially the waffle... I love waffles.

All of these fragrances from this brand are just dupes for other popular perfumes. Huge let down for me in searching for new smells. However these kind of seem better rounded and I'd go with this brand over the "originals". Smells like escapade gourmand for sure but less screechy if that makes sense.
