Beach Day

The problem with this fragrance is the name. People whose only beach experience involves sweetened drinks and sunscreen in a tropical place will NOT understand just how beachy this truly is. Beach Day has a figgy oceanic base and a warm smokey dry down like early morning winter beaches where there was a campfire the night before. So nostalgic and fresh. I love this. It's beautiful. But I can almost see the spray tan TikTok crowd giving this a "dislike" or even a "hate" because they expected sunscreen and pina coladas. A person could read the notes and realize this was not going to be filled with pikake flowers and coconut, but oh well. The sandalwood and cardamom notes gives that aromatic heft some people mistake for dill. NOT A TROPICAL BEACH! More like a winter beach near a forest. This is a fantastic fall scent. Makes me think of Vikings coming ashore.

i found this fragrance at ulta for less than $7, and i am in love with how woody, earthy and slightly citrusy this smells! this fragrance isn’t overly overpowering but definitely noticeable as you wear it(especially the woody notes). this fragrance initially caught my eye out of all other fragrances in this line because it smells just like a sandy walk on the beach on a summer night, with the smoke notes bringing a nostalgia and comfort. i recommend if you’re looking for something new and spicy to catch someone’s attention!

my FAVORITE everyday cheapy!!!! butter creamy sandalwood with prominent orange blossom in the top and a little bit of smokiness all throughout. such an easy reach for me. & no it’s not identical to santal 33 and that’s why I say you can wear it everyday- powdery in a modern way & the suede is velvety unlike the le labo which is a bit more harsh with the leather.

This is my bedtime scent! Thankfully the incense/smoke note disappears in about 5 seconds and what you're left with is a calming, grounding Santal 33 DNA with added orange blossom and a little citrus freshness. The sandalwood is creamy and sophisticated. If I could get this scent to last all day, I'd wear it more than just for bed but I still adore it!

This fragance doesn't match the name, but oh my! It's such a sexy fragrance! It's woody and sultry. I love the smokiness it has but it's a sophisticated smokiness. Good for the price.

Surprised to see this one is as polarizing as it is, and that so many of the reviews are largely comparisons. I haven't tried Neon Moon or Santal 33, but I really like this one on it's own merits. On me its very smoky and woodsy, with a sort of salty and floral undertone that almost reads as acidic to me, but in a good way. A lot of people are saying this is more woody than a beach scent, which I can definitely see, but also not every "beach" theme has to be fruity or tropical. It's more like having a nighttime bonfire at the end of a day of swimming, with the sea salt and smoke saturating your hair and clothes. The suede and spices also give a nice bit of depth. It also projects and has more staying power than others I've tried from Pacifica, which is nice especially given the price point. If over-used I've found that it can be a bit over-stimulating almost; The salt and smoke can be overpowering after a while so I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with sensitivities around scent. Still, Beach Day is nice for what it is and might not be worth quite the hate it seems to have gotten.

Very similar to Santal 33. The sandalwood is quite prominent. I’m surprised vetiver isn’t listed, it smells like there’s some in there.

OK, I hate to be negative (and I like Neon Moon), but what the heck is going on with Pacifica? I'm still a fan, don't get me wrong, but I'd like to know what people were smoking when they decided on the packaging and note pyramid for this and Neon Moon both. None of it makes sense. This is absolutely a repackage of Neon Moon, with maybe a bit of tweaking. I wore NM earlier this week, and the memory is fresh so I'm confident in saying this is at least 90% the same. Beach Day/Neon Moon shouldn't be in yellow packaging IMHO. Nor should they be considered summery perfumes (wear whatever whenever, I'm just reporting on general vibes). This scent is kind of sharply woody, a little bit pickle-y, but not as strongly as Santal 33. There are similarities though, and it has a very unisex hipster tone to it. Kind of like...old notebooks left in a cedar trunk next to some cardamom pods. Weird, I know, but that's how I feel. It's not beachy, bright, yellow or anything of the sort. Though, it is a very particular type of scent that requires a very particular type of mood to wear. I enjoy this fragrance about once every couple of months or so. But yes, 100% Neon Moon repackage.

So if i brushed by someone at work and they were wearing this, I would think "oh they smell so good" but i absolutely wouldn't want to smell it on myself all day. It smells *very* perfume-y to me in a way that could be a migraine trigger for some people (it's me, I'm people). On extended contact, I also find it cloyingly sweet. It's definitely very powdery and I do not enjoy how that plays with the notes. On first spray, the sandalwood was intense. It does calm down and blends in whith the suede nicely. This does lend to that smokey vibe. The florals are definitely there, especially the orris and the orange blossom. If you're looking for citrus, you will not find it here. I don't smell that bergamot at all and I also do not find it spicy. In terms of the theme, I do think it's a beach smell! It's just the end of a day at the beach. It's sunset and you rinsed off but you're still kind of salty and also your head kind of hurts from being in the sun all day.

The sandalwood is strong and pleasant in the opening-- woody, but not pickley. Subtle smokiness and quite a bit of powdery florals. Unfortunately this dried down very musky. Will probably appeal to those who like the more natural skin scents that are very popular right now, just not for me.

My teenage son asked why does it smell like hair? Like burning hair? Now all I smell is burnt hair when I spray Beach Walk. Definitely not a beach scent like I had hoped.

So I don’t know if I got a weird batch or something but all I’m getting is dilly sandalwood? You know how sandalwood notes can come across as a peppery dill. That’s truly the only note I’m getting. No smoke, no burning hair, no beach, no floral, just dilly. It reminds me of Commodity Book, and I assume any other fragrances that end up smelling like just dill. Now I happen to actually be a fan of dill. But... hmm. Mine is from the sample tester pack.

I thought I picked up the wrong bottle when I sampled this at Target. I'm happy to see all the santals in the "smells like" section here because that's exactly what this is. On the other hand I sprayed Pacifica's new Passion Fruit on one of my test strips while I was there and it immediately grabbed me. The smell of that one is what I was expecting from this when I saw the name "Beach Day". Perplexing stuff.

Got this as part of a sample pack and hated it. I like fruity sweet scents and this one is definitely a powdery white floral with a very strong suede note. It leans very unisex or slightly masculine. The name doesn't fit at all, it reminds me nothing of a day at the beach.

This is mostly an issue with my own body chemistry, but anything with bergamot and sandalwood DESTROYS a fragrance. It smells like terrible bug spray and wet tree bark.

The opening of this smells like orange blossom so intensely that (in combo w/everything else) it smells like literal bananas. Spicy bananas, but then the orange blossom completely fades, and it turns into a slightly tart (bergamot), buttery cardamom-santal. The dry down is very musky, and I do get smokiness and something like a white pepper note. The violet and orris are somewhat detectable and odd in the mix. Also the bergamot really sticks around and somewhat pickles the sandalwood ((makes it very tart). I feel that nutmeg top note on the dry down too. TBH I love the spicy fresh banana opening a lot, but am not crazy about the musky bergamot-santal dry down on my skin. This is a citrusy and smokey santal; the brightness of the bergamot, and the sweetness of the cardamom & amber, mixed with sandalwood really reads cucumber. I might have to spray this on clothes only so I don't get that musky, tart, bergamot-cucumber dry down, and retain that lovely spiced young/fresh banana smell. Skin chemistry is everything.

It's not a bad perfume, but the name does not suit the perfume. I was hoping for a fragrance that evokes the beach without resorting to sunscreen-type scent, calone, or ozone, but I'm not sure this perfume brings to mind any association with the beach. I was hoping for prominent orange blossom and bergamot, as described in the notes, but could not really detect them. Pacifica did white flowers well (Pacifica's Waikiki Pikake and Nerola Orange Blossom, I miss you) so it's disappointing that I could smell none here. As the previous reviewer notes, this is very similar to Santal 33 but with worse projection and longevity, even on knit clothing that typically retains scent better. For reference, my favorite marine fragrance is Miller Harris's Hydra Figue with its salty marine fig scent, which evokes a calm but cloudy beach day for me. I was hoping that this fragrance would evoke a sunnier beach day without being a stereotypical beach scent, but the search continues.

Soft, dry sandalwood predominantly, sweetened a little by faint orange blossom. Not a typical "beachy" scent--no coconut, sunscreen, or frangipani here. It smells pleasant, but it is a very subtle scent. The longevity just isn't there, and neither is the projection. I'm not sure that this even stays detectable for two whole hours, possibly not even one. I bought this bottle several months ago, and I cannot recall if it had the same poor performance then as it does now, but it certainly hasn't gotten stronger. I'll be destashing this in favor of a sandalwood fragrance with better longevity. Giving this a 5/10. Not a bad scent, just an underperformer.

I like this scent much more once I put it on. When I first sprayed it it reminded me of a bathroom deodorizer.... But once it aired out it smells much better. It's very crisp and "clean". It has a beachy citrus smell ( to me )... You can smell hints of salt, sunscreen and lemons. It wasn't too much. I used one spray. And it did not trigger a migraine/headache (so far)

I tested this in a store. Instant regret, which turned into an instant scrubber. I had to find the closest public bathroom and pray they had soap. The stuff sticks like 💩 to a blanket. It's smoke and vintage florals. It was making me nauseous. I love most of these notes, but together in Beach Day, it wasn't my cup of tea.

Smells like eating pickles next to a hamster cage. Not very well blended, imo. I get each and every note separately and harshly, at different times — like falling down a set of stairs. I assume they meant to have this evoke a sense of sitting on a beach at night by a bonfire, but it’s not translating well into a perfume.

I started out at the beach but somehow ended up at a deli. I like the scent of dill but I don’t want to wear it. Sandalwood in this?
