Breath Taking

Welp, here goes my first review. I do so in the hopes that someone can recommend a similar smelling fragrance that actually lasts longer than five minutes. I have the crystal rollerball and the perfume. After searching for the “smell” of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas for years, a random review I found on Ulta mentioned it smelled just like that hotel’s lobby. I ordered immediately. Cardamom hits full blast, followed by some spice and some cozy coconut. There is an element of marble in it, like that cold smell of stone, hard for me to describe. The coconut isn’t in your face, just enough to balance the cardamom. And oh do I love it, for the five minutes it lasts on my skin. I’ve tried layering the oil and spray to no avail. It’s tropical yet cozy. Like drinking a coconut rum cocktail in front of the fireplace :) If there is something close out there, I would love a recommendation. I’m not alone in experiencing the low wear time and poor sillage. The first reviews of both products on Ulta are all raves, yet complain about the quick disappearance. I’m not one to reapply fragrance throughout the day. Thanks for letting me share.

I am so glad to see this in the database! I have the rollerball and stocked up on the spray. It's such a lovely soft spicy cardamom...powdery and feminine and I love the bottle. It's beautiful!

Sweet, pleasant cardamom and fizzy soda. I quite liked this and found it super comforting to wear at night.

It's too bad Pacifica discontinued this because I think it was a pretty good value for a spicy summery scent. I probably paid something like $14 for a bottle at Ulta with a coupon. Break Taking weirdly reminds me of being at a Disney hotel pool. Smelling drinks, ice cream and sunscreen, and then walking back through the long hallways, past the fresh towels, against a drying chlorinated bathing suit. Cardamom may not exactly scream this atmosphere, yet when I wear it, it's hard to think of any other experience. This is not a baked goods type sweet spice, the soft heat is more literal. It's comparable to EL Bronze Goddess more than anything for me, though one might not guess that by the notes alone. Longevity is by far the biggest (only?) problem here. I really don't anticipate getting more than an hour, with any longer being a bonus. Still, do not treat it like a body spray because all you will smell is alcohol. I tried overspraying once and it almost ruined the perfume for me.

I'm not usually into spicy, but this one is done in a very soft way that is excellent for wear during the colder months. At first, this was my least favorite of the Aromapower oils, but I ended up buying it because I do not have anything else like it in my collection. The cardamom note really stands out. If you layer Philosophy Mazapan body cream over it, it will smell like kheer, the irresistible Indian rice pudding dessert.

This is very spicy. It will remind you of the Mandalay Bay hotel scent(called Coconut Spice) but less fruity and more heavy on the spice.

For those who love and miss the now discontinued Tibetan Mountain Temple-This is very similar (though not as good).
