Hawaiian Ruby Guava

First of all I do want to point out this is not just a one note wonder. As advertised, it is made up of "berry-like notes of Guava with a bright, citrusy top note of Pomelo and a warm and subtle Coconut base." Personally, I really enjoy this scent! It kind of reminds me of tropical flavored candies. Although I cannot say for sure what a pomelo smells like, I'm assuming it is the citrus opening I detect in this fragrance that quickly fades. The heart of this fragrance is the guava, fruity and sweet, along with the coconut base which gives this fragrance a sence of warmth. This actually lasts a fairly long time on my skin (6 to 8 hours) when applied to my pulse points with the rollerball applicator. I would give this fragrance 4.5 out of 5 stars if I had to rate it. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fruity, sweet, and coconut fragrances, enjoy!

Oh my goodness. This is a really smooth and lush tropical fragrance. So very pleasant. Not biting or jarring as sometimes the guava note can be. It's a really nice blend of citrus and coconutesque notes. Super natural. Super lush. It is refreshing but also relaxing. My mouth is actually watering. I feel like I can almost taste the guava pulp!!! It has an odd semi-gourmand quality. I definitely want to take a bite... or maybe it's a sip? Whatever it is - it's good. It smells full and balmy. I do recommend it for a winter blues pick me up. I feel as though I am headed to the beach. It smells pink just as the packaging suggests. Try layering with Indian Coconut Nectar if you want to bring out more sweet coconut note.

I like many of these pacifica scents. Their candles are super yum as well. I picked up a little travel set at New Seasons that had the roller, bodywash & lotion in travel/trial sizes on sale for about $15. Can't beat that with a stick. It was a little b-day week pickup for myself. I really like this, but I like the sweet scents. Flowerbomb, heck I used the wear the heck out of Love's BabySoft back in the day. It's pretty luscious--delicious. Undeniably guava, after you've identified it for the people that are just smelling it on you. They'll know tropical fruit, but may not be able to identify it. I will say that the 45+ guys love these gourmond fruity scents! I like it. He likes it. Win/Win.

The other notes make the coconut barely noticeable. Dynamic, tropical, sweet, exotic and intoxicating. Definitely a scent for hot, sunny days or any tropical/sunny scenario. I can also imagine it being worn on a cloudy day at the beach, for some reason. I have the roll-on version. I put it on, then I do something else for 5 minutes and then I put it again, this way it has more sillage and longevity but it's noticeable for only 3-4 hours. Although, you can bring the roll-on with you and it's pretty discreet. Like any other tropical scent, this perfume makes me feel so alive, happy and at peace at the same time. Would highly recommend not wearing it in late fall, winter and early spring tho.

Just received my bottle and I love it. I was looking for all natural perfumes. In the past I wasn't so preoccupied by the chemicals in perfumes but now that I am a mom and having had a few health concerns, I read up on it (a lot). I became anxious about using "regular" perfumes. I decided to go with this scent and it kind of reminds me of Tropical Punch by Escada which I used to have years ago. Now about the scent itself; tropical, flowers, warm, sweet yet fresh, fruity. The scenario that goes with the scent: wearing a hibiscus in my hair, feeling the sun on my skin, lounging and dancing in a relaxed tropical setting.

Have you ever traveled up to Kona on a hot summer wet day? The roads are lines with mango trees and guava trees. Since the road is winding, you have to travel slowly. Roll the windows down (I guess you don't roll anymore but u know what I mean) and take a deep breath...what do you smell??? Crushed guavas that have fallen victim to tires or time. The first spray is PURE guava. I love to poach guava in sugar and it smells just like this throughout my home when ISP. Dry down is sweetest of coconutty powder beautiful and on my clothing, the last note lasts forever. LOVE

Mmmh just got my perfume roll-on in the mail. It goes on very bright and fruity. Within 3 minutes it mellows down in to a light coconutty fruity scent. Neither the fruit or the coconut are to strong. It just blends really well together. It's a sunny and cozy fragrance. This will be great in the summer. Might be nice for people who like fruity perfumes, but don't want them to be too strong or too citrussy. The rollerbal is great too. You can take it with you anywhere and freshen up very quickly. (I bought this blind and it is an absolute winner)!

Delicious. Pretty. It smells like a guava smoothie: 3 oz guava, 1oz coconut, 1/2 oz social butterfly. I can't catch the pomelo as much, it's like I'm carrying the pomelo myself but not doing anything with it? Beachy, sweet, not serious. It's a little too much for me if I spray it on my clothes, then we have a guava smoothie spill on the floor. It reminds me of a sparkly coral sticker you would find in the 2000s. I've tried wearing this while I wear black and it makes me feel silly, so I would not recommend that.

My college favorite. So different from any other fragrance I had smelt at the time. I only had the perfume wax in the tin. I have wanted to get the spray. Very inoffensive smell. Aromatic, clear, clean, gentle, sweet but not subtle. Its not Quiet but not yelling in your face. I think it is irresistible. I was complemented often wearing it. Seemed as though many were unfamiliar with Pacifica though. I looked forward to smelling their scents everytime I had the chance. This one is better than the rest though.

I don't think I can say anything that hasn't been said. Summery and fruity and juicy and tropical and wonderful. This reminds me a little bit of Malibu Musk in that aggressively fresh sweet brightness that makes you want to blow off work and hit the beach. If you want to smell like guava, this nails it. No weird plastic or vomit smells like a lot of other products trying for tropical scents like passion fruit or guava or papaya. Just fruity and tangy and awesome.

A linear, sweet, tropical guava fragrance. This smells like a delicious cocktail on the beach. It’s also a big compliment-getter. For the price, do not expect it to last eternally or have strong sillage - it lasts a few hours and the sillage initially gives a good bubble but quickly shrinks to arms-length. This is great for apres-beach, a lunch, or an afternoon with the girls. For the price, I have no complaints. Layers deliciously with Lattafa’s “Mayar”.

Ooh, this is nice if you like youthful, fruity scents (which I do). It's tart and juicy with a tropical fruit punch tinge. The perfect tropical drink with a scoop of strawberry grapefruit sorbet. Longevity isn't great, but it's fine if you buy the roller ball and do touch ups. I like Pacifica scents more than I thought I would. Their fruity and tropical scents are on point. They smell so natural and pure without anything plastic.

I got this in a recent swap with a fellow fragrantica friend :) and it’s the roller ball, I do always prefer sprays and I know how to change it to a spray but I’ll go through it so fast if I do, that being said I do really like this. It’s very spot on for their name.! Fruity, makes me think of yummy drinks on the beach or board walk at night in the summer type scent! It’s a very nice perfune

Middle school me's favorite perfume! I stole it from my older sister and wore it on my first date ever when I was 13. Maybe it's the nostalgia talking but I still love this stuff. I usually hate coconut in everything, but it blends beautifully with the guava. A very sweet, fruity, and tropical scent. Very safe and linear but that's one of the best things about it.

I agree with other reviewers that the pomelo (light grapefruit) is a little jarring for the first minute or so, but as the sweet guava kicks in, the sharp citrus keeps the sweetness in check and the two notes play together very well. Such a juicy, summertime fragrance, that eventually dries down to a smooth warm coconut. Makes me long for the tropics.

This one is very simple. Right away, I gets a smell of grapefruit+guava juice, which is light and refreshing (totally awesome), and it dries down quickly and it becomes cherry flavoured Starburst. It's yummy but not in a sugary fruity gourmand way. I can see this one more wearable toward women, and I prefer the solid perfume.

I like the Pacifica line because it does not contain alcohol like most perfumes. I fell in love with this scent last Summer-also bought the body butter (which had a nice consistency). Im almost done with the spray now and dont know if I will buy another because the scent doesnt last very long.

Well I have never smelled or tasted guava and pomelo, but it's such a lovely tropical scent. It's smells so juicy, i just wanna drink it, but probably not a good idea! great for a beach vacation, might be too sweet in really hot wheather, will find out when summer arrives.

I LOOOOVE this on my wife. It draws me in with its warm, floral, fruity appeal. It’s a scent that gets into your nose and lowers your blood pressure. Nothing sweet or cloying here. It’s a scent you stop to take in. I just wish it was sold in a bigger bottle with a cap.

This is such a fun, tropical fruity scent! It is very much in body wash / candle territory, which is actually a nice change from wearing "serious" scents. It's a really delicious scent, and a great summer alternative to the usual coconut/pineapple approach.

YUMMY!!! SOOOOO SWEET!!! It's like walking through a floral fruity rain forest on a hot summer day!!! Or like if you had a fruit food fight in a garden...yeah that's what it reminds me of...if that existed...so far my favorite from Pacifica.

Sweet, pretty tropical summer fragrance. One spray dried down to an unpleasant scent, two sprays and it was a linear scent that lost little of the opening after dry down. Love this, love the brand.

Simple. True to the notes. This is not my favorite perfume but it’s a nice one to throw on from time to time. I will say though this scent gets compliments galore.

This is a sweet summer vacation scent. Like a tropical drink sans the alcohol. I use the solid perfume and you really can't overdo it. It's really lovely.

Juicy, sweet, tart, slightly creamy. Sometimes I get a little bit of something that reminds me of banana candy. Safe, simple, easy, no-fuss.

This is a sweet, fun, and light summer scent. Great for nice day out. Not. At all cloying. Perfect for casual wear.

This is very fresh, tropical and citrusy. The coconut is very subtle.

I found this at random at a Ross store, and I love Pacifica. At first, I really did not like this. I gave it a few hours after opening and tried it again several times. The opening is a sweet burst of Guava; nice, but then followed by a sharp, pungent, lemony citrus note from the pomelo, which I didn't care for. After about 5 minutes, it started to settle and become more balanced. Then the drydown came through with the soft, powdery note of coconut flakes peeking through.. I started to realize it's really nice and unique. It stays a mild, yet fresh coconut, tropical, powdery fragrance with hints of citrus and guava. I also detect a soft floral vibe like gardenia but it's not listed. Could be essence of Tiare flower, I'm almost certain. It's not super sweet, but it's sweet enough. It evokes a sense of beachy vibes. Almost sunscreen or tanning oil but not in a bad way. Actually, the final result is that it smells like Cool Water for Women. That's the best comparison I can give. This fragrance is still growing on me, but I'm glad I gave it a fair chance instead of getting rid of it initially. It's not very strong in the end, as far as projection or longevity, but I'm sure if you applied it liberally, as it is an essential oil based parfum, you could get to last longer. I'll keep testing this, and edit if needed. So far so good.

Hmm, this one is more complex than the other Pacificas I've smelled. My mom LOVES eating guavas, but they're expensive so she buys them in bulk from a lady she knows who has a tree that bears fruit every summer. Their scent is so strong that it lingers in her car for days. My dad hates the smell, and I can see why at times. If you've ever smelled a ton of guava at once, you've probably noticed there's something stinky, skanky, and almost animalic about their scent. This Pacifica captures that almost perfectly. It's sweet and pink like a ripe juicy guava you want to put in a smoothie, but deep in the base there's a bitter, dirty note that mimics the dry, thick skin of a guava. And it gets more confusing from there, because then there's an aldehyde smell that reminds me of a fruity Herbal Essences shampoo, or a fancy tropical hotel air freshener. I have mixed feelings about this one, but if you love guava, it really encapsulates the fruit and is worth trying. I keep bouncing back from love to hate with it, personally. EDIT: I decided I like this one for those days I want to smell fruity but offbeat. I still think it smells shampoo-y, so it's not super elegant, but I like keeping it in my purse or backpack for casual days. It's an unusual fruit smell, I'll give it that.

This smells pretty good. I'm not sure how guava actually smells. The only other perfume I've had with guava is Nude by Rihanna. That fragrance smells like sweet milky tropical fruit, so I assumed guava just smells like a creamy tropical fruit. From what I've seen people describe I think that may be the case. So, Hawaiian Ruby Guava doesn't start out milky. It starts out super citrus-y. It borders on smelling like orange/peach but you can definitely tell the difference. It's more of a tropical fruit salad smell. It definitely fades to a scent that smells a little bit creamier. I wouldn't categorize it as lactonic per se, but it's not as harsh and citrus forward as the opening. The sillage and longevity is great on clothes. It stays super juicy smelling on my clothes, but it fades quickly on skin. I think this scent smells like it could be a candle, so some people probably won't enjoy it for that aspect. I blind bought 3 Pacifica scents and so far I like 2/3. The other two being Tuscan Blood Orange and Coconut Nectar. The coconut smelled awful on my skin but it was alright on fabric. The orange was amazing and will probably stay in my collection. All in all these are pretty good. Hit or miss at times, but still worth a try.

This smells so juicy and delicious when I first apply it. It smells exactly how I wanted it to smell, exactly what I expected, based on the name. I get citrus and ripe, freshly cut guava. Sweet, but not sticky and overwhelming. Sadly, those true tropical notes only remain prominent for a minute, tops. I'm not sure if it's my skin chemistry, the nature of top notes, or both, but this just ends up smelling like sweet, faintly acidic coconut on me. Not bad, but not what I was hoping for. Although I don't really detect a scent bubble after a few hours, others can still smell it on me 6+ hours later. While I was at work, my boss (male) remarked, "You smell like coconut...and vanilla." The same day, a coworker of mine (female) said, "Mmmm, you smell gooooood! You smell like coconut. I LOVE tropical scents." Don't get me wrong, I appreciated the compliments, and coconut is one of my favorite notes, but if my goal is to smell of coconut, I have other fragrances solely for that purpose.

To me this smells like tart apple, like a Granny Smith, as well as guava. It's a linear, crisp, fruity smell, very uplifting and positive. I don't really get the creamy note, nor the slightly dirty guava funk that some people are describing---just clean, strong fruit start to finish. I have the rollerball in my office and use it on days that I could use an office-friendly mood boost (I also use the Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange, which I like even better). The longevity is terrible, but at this price point that just means I can be fickle about what I feel like wearing from hour to hour.

Maybe it's just the name, but this scent reminds me of a herbal-style tea (no real tea leaves) called Ruby Mist or something like that. It wasn't anything fancy, just supermarket tea, and I drank it all the time when I was a little kid. When I spray this on, I get loads of grapefruit and some fruity smell that is sweet enough to balance out the grapefruit without being too sugary. The first few minutes aren't so great though, so if you test this you probably should wait a few minutes after you spray it on to smell it up close.

I don't generally gravitate toward tropical scents, but this is one I may repurchase for nostalgia! I absolutely loved this in high school. this fragrance holds up really well in heat and humidity -- I had a job where I had to go outside a lot in Florida and it was never gross or cloying (in my memory, it was a while ago). verrry true to the notes. a straightforward juicy guava. I find pacifica to be a little unpredictable in that regard, but for the price and overall quality you can't beat it! will forever be a pacifica fan.

The pomelo is short lived in the opening, then it settles down into almost pure guava with coconut as an afterthought. It’s ripe, juicy, maybe a little pungent, but not bad. I don’t use my roller ball a lot but I do enjoy it when I get the chance. It’s definitely strictly a summer scent, something you’d wear to the beach, like most Pacifica perfumes this has the staying power to last for a day in the sun. Although I’d also wear it in the spring or fall to make Zoologist Bat less offensive because of the shared guava note, lol

Bright, juicy, casual, delightful summer scent. I love how well blended the pomelo and guava scents are. Like others, I don't smell the coconut. It's an easy reach for me. Not a scent you have to worry about other people wearing, if that's something you look for. Places I'd wear it: Picnic, dinner date, summer office party, church, brunch with friends, etc. I'd say it's fine for a normal day at work, but a bit casual/light for something like a performance review, or serious presentation.

I love pomelo.... It is one of those notes that not many tropical fragrances use but it just oozes tropical islands... This scent is very fruity, summery and fun. Simply stated it smells like the notes listed, however it just doesn't seem to last very long. Great fragrance for layering though... It has that gourmand-y sweet thing working as well as the "kick back and sip a pina colada" vibe.... Imagine this coupled with some Bobbi Brown Beach and a mad suntan!

Perfectly citrusy, tropical, juicy and fruity. Had no idea this was unisex but am pleased to have found a unisex scent that I can actually wear. Love it! ;') Although, it has this waxy and candle like edge in the drydown that I am not entirely fond of. Not sure about the lasting power but this is a delicious daily pick-me-up type of fragrance. ;') The solid is just as yummy but it seems to last longer than the spray. This is perfect for the summer.

SUPER sweet! This is a fun, fruit-punch kind of scent, not serious at all. It has a coconut undertone to it too, especially as the top notes wear down. I like it, but it's usually too candy-sweet for me to enjoy wearing. It's so simple that it layers really well though, especially over amber. I just tried it with Yves Rocher Voile d'Ambre just for kicks, and they actually went really well, the hint of coconut in Ruby Guava just makes it purr.

I agree with other people's comment that it smells like Herbal Essences shampoo, but in really pleasant way. I really enjoy this perfume and it's perfect for a hot summer day! Ruby Guava is very tropical and fruity and I do get a lot of guava. I don't notice any coconut on me though. It's definitely sweet, but not too sweet, in my opinion. Ruby Guava is a fun, simple, casual scent for when you want an uplifting tropical boost!

This smells great! It's very sweet though, just warning you. I mean SWEET. I like sweet scents, but man this is almost too sweet! Pink Sugar is not sweet at all compared to this... It smells like juicy guava and grapefruit, and dries down to, as they say on the package, "coconut surfboard wax", which I think is quite appropriate! Smells like candy, and Hawaii. Yum! Very delicious but too sweet for every day.

I’ve only recently discovered Pacifica, impressed to learn that their products are cruelty free and suitable for vegans! Smells like sunbathing - combination of juicy fruity guava and coconut tanning oil.. you will know if this appeals to your nose or not! It’s a simple and fun scent! At this price who cares about performance? It’s moderate! I’m feeing a compulsion to try everything...

Hawaiian Ruby Guava smells like super-ripe fruits through and through, where 'ruby' is the operative word. The grapefruit is deeply red and sweet, and the guava smells as it's been sitting in the sun for days beyond peak ripening. Coconut really makes the composition luscious and creates a somewhat waxy drydown. Juicy, vibrant and fun. I feel an urge to go find a tropical beach party!

I like the combo of guava and coconut, but unfortunately with the citrus it's just too tart for me. The sour makes it a little too genuinely candy-foody. However, I still give it a 'like' because it smells yummy and the Pacifica products on the whole are so excellent - I just can't have this particular fragrance on me. I concur with some other folks and say I prefer the candle.

The fresh and fruity guava hits you straight off at first spray and the pomelo helps it linger around you until the lovely and mellow coconut base comes into play. This fragrance is not obnoxious or overbearing as some citrus perfumes can be, this is pure fun. As much as I love Malibu Lemon Blossom as a fragrance Hawaiian Ruby Guava just comes out on top.

Very fruity and tropical. It's warm, sweet and creamy. Unfortunately, it doesn't last much. I like that it is a beachy scent without smelling like sunscreen. Great for summer or warm weather. I sometimes layer it with other coconut fragrances to bring out that note.

This smells good, but not good enough to repurchase in my opinion. I'll use it up at least. I can really only detect the guava and a little bit of citrus, but mainly guava. I think BBW guavatini is better and cheaper for my guava fix- it is not as sweet.

Fruity fun and carefree. My bottle is about 3 years old already and the juice is still strong on guava. But this time, I like it a bazillion times more, because of that fantastic banana peel note coming through (pomelo?). Never detected coconut.

Bright, fruity and sweet. I love wearing it to feel like a kid again--that says everything about the complexity of this scent. It's a great, fun scent but can be cloying if liberally applied. Great for summer days in the beach!
