Indian Coconut Nectar

Sweet, coconut, vanilla, lactonic, tropical, powdery, vibrant, radiant, feminine, sensual, flirty, charming, whimsical, dreamy, delightful, cheerful, joyful, uplifting, alluring, tempting, addictive, inviting, transportive, nostalgic I have the OG formula, which is what I’m reviewing. This reads as very nectar like with a sweet and slightly tart juiciness of tropical coconut nectar, but also creamy/lactonic as if there’s also coconut milk. The coconut nectar and coconut milk is swirled with sensual and powdery vanilla and a touch of woody vetiver in the base. As of right now I only own Indian Coconut Nectar, Island Vanilla (both of which I love!), and Tahitian Gardenia. I really want to get more of their fragrances, and try them out! I’ve owned this one and Island Vanilla both for over 10 years! I always liked to layer them together! I even used to layer ICN with Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess to enhance the coconut. Indian Coconut Nectar has a fairly simple scent profile, yet it’s actually rather unique. I’ve never smelled anything quite like it. I am somewhat reminded of The 7 Virtues Coconut Sun, Phlur Vanilla Nectar, Ellis Brooklyn Sand, BBW Bali Black Coconut Sands, Oahu Coconut Sunset. As for Laura Mercier Eau Gourmand Almond Coconut, I don’t find them similar as Almond Coconut reads as a luxe hair conditioner. I also don’t think it’s very similar to SDJ Coco Cabana/39 as it’s missing the nectar-like quality, and reads much more deliciously gourmand with coconut cream, vanilla, caramel, and even has a slight buttered popcorn scent. I’m also not reminded of Tom Ford Soleil Blanc as this is much more coconut and vanilla forward and missing all of the white florals and pistachio notes which play such a central role in Soleil Blanc along with the coconut and vanilla. To me this feels feminine, and suitable for women of any age. I think this works best during the spring and summer because of its beachy feel. This is most fitting for casual occasions, beach vacations, and work/school. I get moderate performance with Indian Coconut Nectar. The longevity is about 5-6 hours on my skin. The projection is between intimate to moderate as it radiates out at most an arm’s length from me. I love the smell of rich, milky coconut in real life, and when I started exploring the world of perfumes I thought I would enjoy it there as well. So I've been trying out a lot of different samples, hoping to find the perfect sweet delicious coconut dessert interpretation. I haven't had much luck - it seems to be much easier to get that other kind of coconut just right, the light and sparkling summery kind that's often complemented by citrus notes. The sweet kind that I wanted for the colder seasons is another matter: to me these scents are almost always just okay, too beachy or too cloyingly sweet or too synthetic, and often all of those at once. I'd nearly given up when I tried this one, and I wasn't expecting much at all. And to be sure, it's just as (over)sweet as most of the others, and it's far from natural-smelling. Still, and to my great surprise, it was love at first spray. It has all of the finesse of a bull in a china shop, there's no subtlety about it at all - but boy, does it ever deliver on the sweet coconut dessert concept! I don't know what makes me like this one so much more than all the others, I guess it just clicks - to me, it smells more or less exactly like those coconut cookies, sugary and sweet with lots of vanilla, and so, so delicious. I have to be in the mood for it to appreciate it, otherwise I still think it's "too much" just like the others, but when I am it's glorious. I'm also not sure I'd recommend this to others, because I don't really get why I like it so much myself, and I'll take care to spray lightly when I wear it out in public, but I'm definitely buying a bottle some time soon (it's cheap as well, yay!), and it'll bring me so much joy.

I am obsessed with J.R Watkins Coconut Milk and Honey lotion...and I inadvertently purchased it, in spray form, with this FANTASTIC cheapie! I mean, honestly, I'm absolutely thrilled. There are just a few subtle, subtle differences...and it's only because I'm so familiar with the lotion that I'm able to split hairs here. Namely, this is a little more vanillic...just a smidgen. The bottle (the new can style, recently released) mentions vanilla, amber and coconut as notes....so that baited me in. I actually hadn't planned on purchasing this, but those notes are lovely IMO and so I made an impulsive buy at Ulta. Well, this isn't really ambery, but it's ok, because I think this scent is kind of unbeatable. It's the perfect vanilla and coconut combo. It's smooth though, and both this (and the J.R Watkins lotion) have a buttery texture. I cannot explain it, but it smells *buttery smooth*, and although the packaging is a different color, this is a soft golden yellow in my mind. I suppose "whipped cream" makes sense as a note. I really don't care about the other alleged notes here - it's basically just coconut and vanilla buttercream. Super gourmond (shamelessly, really), and freaking delicious. I like B&BW's "Vanilla Coconut", but I have always wished J.R Watkins made a fragrance form of my favorite lotion (which...by the way, I've worn solo in leiu of fragrance, and recieve insane compliments in), and HERE IT IS. I'm astounded that nobody has mentioned it already. So good. One of my favorite cheapies ever (and I'm a bargain bunny, so that's high praise). Let me start off by saying the EDP and the body mist smell different. I prefer the “hair and body” mist has it smells straight up like coconut. As someone whose culture uses a lot of coconut I don’t find that this has a “suntan” smell to it at all. It just reminds me of coconut milk. A Creamy, sweet coconut. More sweet than nutty which I like. It has enough warmth to not be nauseating. I like these Pacifica scents because they are pretty simple and you know what you’re smelling whereas the more complex perfumes I’ve tried claim to be coconut but it’s more of a background note that you won’t initially pick up on which I’m not a fan of. I want my fragrance to be something people may come across when eating and think about me hence why I love their Island Vanilla and Tuscan Orange as well. If you’re opting to make it more mature I think the mist is great for adding extra coconut to your favorite mature smelling coconut scents. Sometimes I like to pair this with Soleil Blanc just because I feel that fragrance is one of those scents that has coconut in the background when I’d like it more present. The EDP of this scent is quite different. I’m not sure if that initial smell is ambrosia or vetiver but the coconut isn’t as forefront and mostly smells like coconut to people near you. I do find the dry down of the EDP to leave a slight play doh scent but this isn’t an issue with the mist from my experience. I used to love the body butter in this scent as it had even more of that true coconut scent.

I don't smell the Play-Doh note as much as everyone else here seems to, possibly due to my body chemistry. The opening is a rich, creamy (albeit slightly artificial) coconut that melds nicely with the vanilla. The "nectar" aspect certainly comes through immediately; the coconut and vanilla here are doused in a syrupy layer of sweetness. This note almost reminds me of honeysuckle, with the slightest hint of citrus from the vetiver hiding in the background. Over time, this fragrance dries down to a subtle and creamy vanilla/coconut cloud. It gets much warmer and smoother with time, and the previously sharp sweetness fades into something more lactonic; it's truly lovely. Is it incredibly complex or sophisticated? No, but it doesn't need to be. I think it fully serves its purpose as a sweet, straightforward warm-weather scent. My only complaint is that it doesn't last very long, it fades down to a barely-there skin scent in only two hours. I wore my sample around the house today, and my mom said that it reminded her of the Banana Boat oil that she wore in the 80's. She absolutely fell in love with it, so I gave her the rest of my sample until my full size bottle arrives. I see this being a wonderful beachy summer scent if you don't mind reapplying. Simple and straightforward, but a lovely cheapie.

This fragrance is probably another one that made my top 5 I'd-want-it-with-me-on-a-deserted-island list! It instantly made me so happy because in just one whiff, it transported me back to one of the most beautiful places I've ever been - Ubud, Bali. I took a cooking class while I was there, and the only thing I can still remember how to make is the Bubuh Injin, which is the Indonesian Black Rice Pudding. It's a simple recipe, but the combination is to die for. It's probably my favorite dessert of all time. It calls for black rice, palm sugar, pandan leaves, and plenty of coconut cream. The pandan leaves are the *secret* ingredient because they add a "green and vanilla" flavor. This is exactly what this perfume smells like!! Sweetened coconut cream with just a hint of rice and green. A new favorite of mine!! Thank you, Pacifica, as usual, you've taken me on a voyage in a bottle.

I'm constantly on the hunt for a good coconut perfume that ACTUALLY smells of coconut, not just an elusive background note. Preferable sweet creamy coconut. I have many that I "like" but still on the hunt for one I love. Upon the first spray of Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar, I thought I may have just found it. I was in love. Sweet creamy coconut with just a hint of vanilla. Simply beautiful! Unfortunately within minutes the sweet coconut creaminess dissipates and is replaced by more of a vanilla play-dough scent. It reminds me of the now discontinued Vanilla Ozium Air Sanitizer Spray, which I used to describe as Vanilla play-dough. It's not bad at all, in fact I still like it a lot. But I don't love it the way I do when it's first sprayed and has a sweeter creamier coconut scent.

Super sugary, slightly salty coconut meat with a woody/nutty element that reminds me of cold vanilla soy milk. The coconut has a fruity freshness in addition to the rich sweetness. Smells odd at first but give it 5-10 minutes, and it straightens right out. Good projection, average longevity. Smells exactly like coconut Lifesaver candy. This is SO much more gourmand and comforting than any of the sweet celebrity scents I have sampled or bought recently, and it costs less too. Also, it is a million times richer and better than the reformulated Comptoir Sud Pacifique offerings with the same tropical theme. It doesn't smell true to life, but I don't mind that about it. When it dries down, it smells quite pretty and nonchalant. Coconut vanilla soy milk ice cream.

I scrolled down to read other reviews and people are saying this smells bad or doesn't work on them. For whatever reason, this perfume works well on me and I like it a lot. It smells like the "baking" side of coconut, like a can of coconut frosting or a bag of sweetened shredded coconut. It's a simple coconut/vanilla, but it performs well. I wait tables and this is one of the few perfumes that made it through my shift, so for me this qualifies as a cheap beast mode fragrance. Ulta usually has a Pacifica discovery set, so I would recommend getting that instead of blind buying because it seems like this perfume is polarizing. For $30 I'm very happy with it.

A really pretty, beachy, coconut vanilla fragrance! Sweet and creamy with just an hint of a tangy scent! Indian Coconut Nectar is a rather straight forward and simple scent... sometimes you want something just like that, but other times when you’re wanting more it’s great for layering too! I personally like it a lot with Island Vanilla! It’s an easy reach, especially during the summertime! maybe it's just me, but after the initial burst of coconut, about 2 minutes later, I got a very strong almond scent. Like marzipan, which I loathe. Then a few minutes after that it settled into a very warm, sweet, yummy vanilla-coconut. I wasn't feeling it during the marzipan phase, but I think I need to go and get it now. It reminds me of a tropical beach. Like with all perfumes on me it doesn't last long at all, so I can see myself carrying the roller as well to keep reapplying the scent throughout the day. It's nothing complicated, but like others have said, it's an utterly pleasant smell that brings a smile to my face.

Wow! What a great fragrance. This perfume smells like yummy coconut-vanilla goodness. I just can't get enough. It's creamy and warm and just makes you want to cuddle. It is also light and not overpowering. Even if you spray quite a bit, it's not headache inducing. The only negative thing about it is the lasting power. You will definitely need to reapply several times (depending on your preference). On me, this does not last more than 2 hours. If you want a perfume that is sweet (but not overly sweet), creamy, and warm then you should give this one a try.

I never would have imagined this to be so controversial. It’s a simple, sweet coconut, and I’ve loved it for years. Not sunscreen coconut, just coconut. Great for those of us who want a coconut without any florals. Love the body butter too. That one is more of a coconut milk. Not long lasting at all, but it’s a nice pick me up. It’s not that serious. Tip: layer this with the Pacifica Guava and it smells exactly like pink Starburst candy.

I adore this gorgeous little scent. There is nothing complex going on in this one and this is not the most original scent out there, but this has just the right amount of delicious coconut and vanilla - the vanilla not overpowering the coconut for me - to make this one a simple and deliciously sweet summer scent. Very simple, very sweet and very nice. My favourite so far from Pacifica.

I have the body mist one and oh my gosh it's so fire!!! My favorite coconut scent ever. It's so sweet and coconutty and not floral at all. I don't like floral scents. It smells like coconut pudding. It lasts alright and it's alot cheaper than the perfume. I get compliments!! I recommend if you're sensitive to strong /musky scents because this one never gives me a headache. :)

This little gem is one of my favorites from the Pacifica line. It's such a foodie/bakery scent. I actually love dabbing these on my stuff animals to give them a remiscent of my old childhood scent, somewhere along the lines of play doh and sweetness. I happen to like mixing a bit with the island vanilla to tone down the creaminess and it makes a fantastic scent to wear.

I quite like this one. Smells like marzipan. Perhaps not the most sophisticated fragrance, but it's one of few perfumes I would actually wear just for me, on a wintery day when I'm staying in. Combines well with Silver Moon (also by Pacifica) and with Utopia Vanilla Coco (Kayali) - this last combination adds a tropical, floral touch and perhaps a bit of sophistication.

Creamy coconut and vanilla, reminds me of a colada. Yum. Instant sunny sweetness. A simple fragrance that garners many compliments. The spray is best. The roll on is good, but I found the pot of sachet had a bit of a chemical scent. Get the spray. I sometimes layer it with a bit of Chance eau Tendre. Affordable, delectable, uplifting.

I find this scent very pleasant and nostalgic, like a childhood lip balm or sunscreen. The synthetic quality only adds to it for me, but I don't find it overpowering. It only took me a month or two to nearly empty the bottle; it's good for layering but stands well on its own. I'm very fond, definitely would buy it again :)

Honestly one of my biggest disappointments. I guess it does what it promises, I just find it quite nauseating. I forget I have it and spray it on once in a while and find myself just shrugging it off. It’s not foul, but certainly not good. I don’t think anyone could pull this off in my opinion. Just a hard pass.

really great for post-shower, or for days where im casual/messy but want to smell clean. cheap so i dont have to worry about doling it out. not good if youre wanting something complex or fancy but miles better than cheap body sprays

Sweet, sunscreen-like coconut and vanilla on the dry down. It's light and not cloying. If you're looking for a tropical summertime coconut fragrance, this one is worth trying.

Crisp Fresh Summer Scent Best to be worn Summer Time!

This reminds me of coconut bolis, plastic wrapping and all. I get a salted skin aspect to it, along with some dry grassiness (which somewhat comes off like cinnamon, and then I start thinking of horchata because of the slight almondy-ness as well). It's somehow creamy & dry simultaneously. Also reminds me a bit of coconut rice pudding and also of a coconut alcoholic beverage (no pina colada). There's a bit of a vanilla backbone to it. Collectively, I picture a person slathered in sunscreen, tanning in the sun by the ocean, cooling off with a coconut boli or alcoholic coconut slush drink (makes me think of Sonic Blue Coconut with Malibu rum & almond milk). There are sand dunes nearby with sundried grasses, crunchy with heat. I do get the plasticky sort of scent people are talking about, but I also do get the almonds, vanilla cookies, and other comments as well. I own both the rollerball & fragrance mist (hair & body), and the rollerball packs much more sweetness (even a little fruitiness) and less plastic than the mist. I wonder if it has something to do with the product being housed in glass vs plastic? Both are cut from the same cloth and work well together, but there are these differences with at least the products I own. Would work great layered with other scents, and probably not limited to tropical or vanilla, although those are the obvious pairings. I do have some Amouage Epic Woman leftover on my blazer by my wrist and I must say that Indian Coconut Nectar layered with that is quite lovely. Edit: I asked my partner his thoughts and he said it smells like sour milk at first and then cherry. Then I started to see the cherry chapstick aspect!

Hawaiian Tropic suntan lotion all the way! Fortunately, I just loved that stuff as a kid. I don't know if they still make it, but I still have fond memories of it. I have the purse-sized perfume roll-on bottle which is handy for re-application since it doesn't hang around for long on my skin. However, it goes on strong at first, in an intoxicating blast of scent which becomes quite tame in about ten minutes. After about an hour it stays very close to the skin and becomes much more civilized. I like the fact that the dry down becomes such a mellow barely-there tropical-floral scent because it would actually be obnoxious if it didn't. This perfume dances around with wild abandon, then sits down and behaves like a lady.It's just like a little vacation from the everyday, a reminder of what it smelled like to be twelve years old, covered in Hawaiian Tropic, sitting on the beach, with sand stuck all over me.

Very pleasant, mostly vanilla rather than coconut, but coconut is there for the first half hour. The Play Doh doesn't show up on me, although the vanilla has a vaguely artificial scent, and I certainly don't get any of the more unpleasant notes people describe. The vetiver is only obvious when you get right up close to the skin. This makes me smell like macaroons, which honestly is sometimes a perfectly pleasant way to smell. Projection and longevity are stronger than my other Pacifica perfumes. There's nothing challenging about this, but at the price, it's a fine cheerful pick-me-up. Edit: My wife wore this as a signature for a while, and—boo!—it just does not hold up to that. The more often she wore it, the more the cleaning product/cloying notes came out. Eventually I was getting gaggingly sweet coconut alcohol and plastic. We're on the hunt for a better daily gourmand for her.

Got this one as part of the "Take Me There" discovery set, and I actually quite like it. Very much a creamy milky vanilla, with the coconut really just giving it a bit of depth. It's almost like a warm angel food cake; Doesn't really read tropical at all to me but is still very enjoyable, and has a lot of potential for layering with other fragrances. My only real complaint is that it really just isn't very strong. The projection is next to nothing, so you have to be really close to smell it at all after initial application. It also just doesn't last super long, maybe a couple hours. My advice would be to skip the perfume and just go straight to the body spray; No use in paying the full bottle price for spray levels of scent. However, this is still very nice for what it is, and I do still enjoy it, even if it means having to re-apply quite often.

At first I was so disappointed with this scent as I found it overwhelmingly sugary and sweet. And that's coming from someone who loves sweet scents! It's the sweetest thing I've ever come across so far, but oh boy has this grown on me! I reach for it quite often and it's brilliant for layering. I use it with noa noa and I just found it works very well with Pacifica's french lilac (which I'm not a big fan of on it's own). It's a lovely and uncomplicated scent. On me it's just as much vanilla as coconut, maybe even more I've grown to love this perfume. It's very warm and comforting Update: Loving this even more now. I keep reaching for it and it is brilliant for layering, just brilliant. There doesn't seem to be a day that this perfumes feel wrong or off-putting, which is quite an achievement of it's own.

Pacifica’s Indian Coconut Nectar is a super sweet treat for the nose. Very warm, smooth, and creamy. It’s reminiscent of suntan lotions in that it’s a bit buttery, or a coconut snowcone in that it’s extremely sweet and syrupy, but I think Indian Coconut Nectar is prettier and less synthetic than either. Thus, the image I get is sunbathing on the shore and sipping on a fresh young coconut in bliss. The fragrance is equally sweetened condensed coconutmilk and vanilla. Simple and delicious, straightforward and no frills. Don’t expect anything complicated. It’s just sweet vanilla coconut, but I like it. Wear this when you want to feel the carefree serenity of summer youth, a sweet gentle breeze on a warm beach day. A leisure fragrance. Props for a vegan company coming up with something fun and inexpensive.

I got this in solid form- it came in the mail today. I can see why it has lots of 'likes' but few 'loves' on this site. It just smells... okay. I don't think it will end up being a favourite- I can smell coconut and vanilla, but they combine to give off that plastic, waxy Play-Doh smell that many mainstream coconut-based perfumes tend to have. It's a little bit fake-scented, but a little bit nice too. For a solid perfume, there is not much longevity and intensity at all. Update: I don't know how I've missed this, but the drydown smells like milk and caramel- a bit like Peters vanilla ice-cream. Another note: My sister wore some of this and it did not smell plastic-y on her at all- it smelled like how it was supposed to smell like: tropical flowers and vanilla- gave it away to her!

Sweet coconut milk and vanilla sugar. A simple gourmand vanilla. I don't smell any vetiver or other notes. I agree that sandalwood would be a beautiful base note here. It's a little cloying at first, very sweet with that plasticky smell that some vanilla perfumes have, but it smoothes out quickly and smells warm and sunny and sensual. No sunscreen smell, but a tropical vibe. It projects pretty loudly for the first hour but settles down to an appropriate level of sillage and hangs around for most of the day. I'm on a vanilla kick so I'm enjoying it but I don't think I'd buy it again. I don't like it as much as Pacifica's Island Vanilla, which incidentally layers well with this perfume. If you like the coconutty aspect of B&BW's warm vanilla sugar, you'd probably like this.

Yep...Coconut Play Doh! LOL, and it smells sooo yummy it does not bother me one bit! ;) Very creamy, milky coconut which is comforting to me in some way? Ohhh sooo soft Vanilla which IMO is more like a soft, pure Vanilla Bean. And then there is the light but heavenly swirling aura of Vetiver. Simple ingredients and simply good! I really like this one and it's on the verge of love? I only purchase it in a roller ball because this is a travel type of fragrance for me, as in traveling to the beach, the Bahamas, Hawaii and anywhere that has a tropical vibe. With that being said, it's not like a suntan lotion or oil type of scent. It's always kept in my train case, ready to go on its next travel adventure. Longevity is about 4 hours and sillage is good.

At first I was a little taken aback by the plasticy coconut sweetness of this. I agree that's definitely how it starts out. But then upon letting it rest on my skin - and I'll have to admit writing it off a bit - I kept thinking - what smells so good in here? Needless to say it was the Indian Coconut Nectar. The warm sugary vanilla began to seep through and kind of sneakily wind itself into the coconut. The scent became thicker and more natural. Fresh coconut flesh simmering in sugared vanilla in the end. Delicious and fun for summer. It is quite simple, but also pleasantly sweet. It wears fairly close to the skin with the occasional reminding pulse of scent here and there. Fades quickly. You'll need to reapply if you want it to last .

For all the people saying that it smells like play dough... YOU'VE RUINED THIS FOR ME! Okay jk but, when I first smelled this I loved it. It was a perfectly sweet, warm, coconut vanilla scent. It was very uncomplex which is exactly what you need sometimes. Then I read some of the reviews saying it smells like straight up play dough and I was like "That's no true at all!" but then I sprayed it and I could ONLY smell playdough now. I don't wear it as much anymore but to be kind of fair to the perfume, the playdough scent doesn't linger and it only lasts for the first 45 seconds. It's a nice scent, just don't think of play dough when you wear it. It's definitely more of a mental thing to me.

I really like this one,it has a nice,creamy coconut scent,without smelling like a tanning oil.A little bit of the green coconut,like coconut water,with vanilla for added sweetness.I does smell almost exactly like Exotic coconut from B&BW which I also have,so layering it with the lotion is a good option for me. There are a few reviews complaining about longevity.Frankly,I found it lasted fairly well,for a roll on,and all natural.I got a good 6 hours which i can't say for some of my more expensive ones. Overall,a great true coconut scent,without being cloyingly sweet,with decent sillage and moderate longevity.I would recommend this and will most like ly repurchase.

A light and comforting summer scent! The only coconut fragrance I will wholeheartedly get behind and wear for days. I have the oil rollerball, which smells warm like a baked good somehow without being at all sticky, cloying, or headache-inducing––the "nectar" idea from the name absolutely comes through in a sweetly soft and glowing, golden way. This one always reminds me of 1. my beautiful high school best friend who first insisted I try it maybe a decade ago, and 2. one of these little toys I had when I was really little, the scented yummi-land dolls and soda pop pets, which came with lipgloss in a matching flavor. Incredibly nostalgic

I don't LOVE this perfume, but I do like it, and it is one that I reach for fairly frequently in summer. Sometimes I layer it with a vanilla perfume, but it's still enjoyable on its own. I will say there is an odd note in it that I've never smelled in a fragrance before; to me, it smells a lot like the original Carmex lip balm. It might just be how it reacts with my skin chemistry, but I pick up a sort of spicy woody note that is similar to Carmex (some people say it smells like play dough, and maybe that's what I'm getting) All in all, it's an okay perfume for summer, layering it with vanilla is good.

Very strong coconut at first, somewhat like snowball syrup. As it dries, an air freshener vanilla scent really gets going. Reminiscent of sun tan lotion. I definitely get the play-doh, but the whole thing smells pretty artificial and commercial to begin with. That said, I still enjoy it? Smells beachy and fresh, very summery. If you just desperately want to smell like you've been tanning at the beach, but don't want to destroy your skin by actually tanning, I think it's pretty effective. Just don't expect anything super fancy or mind-blowing.

Eau de Hawaiian Tropic! Makes me smile. Takes me right back to my days life-guarding at the water park, and the local pool. Those days I thought I was being so good by applying SPF.....4!! (cringe) If I spray this very lightly, I get a good balance of fresh coconut with a hint of vanilla to cream it up. If sprayed heavily, the vanilla takes over, turning it WAY too creamy, sweet and heavy. With a light hand, this is a fresh, sweet little whiff of summer I like spritzing under my hair to catch whiffs of all day. :)

I have the rollerball of this perfume and from the bottle it smells nice and coconut-y, but as soon as I put it on my skin I detect a strong plastic/Play-doh note that ends up overpowering the coconut. This is the first time I've detected the dreaded "Play-doh" note in a perfume and it honestly ruins this one for me. This is my first Pacifica perfume and to be honest, I was expecting more based on all the great reviews for this perfume and brand. I'll use up the rollerball, but will not repurchase.

I've tried the roll-on and found it to be lovely: coconutty and vanilla-y, like a sweeter version of the sunscreen that my grandma would put on me when I was a small child and she'd take me to the lake. Better days. But I made the mistake of buying the solid perfume which, as other reviewers have noted, smells like something else from my childhood: Play-Doh! I'll be buying the roll-on later, but steer clear of the solid perfume unless you want to smell like a kindergarten class.

This is a confusing perfume; first I hate it and then I love it. As other reviewers have said, it starts out as a very strong chemically, cloying marzipan, which I find really off-putting. Then, once it has completely dried down, it becomes a soft, sweet vanilla-coconut that smells a lot like marshmallows, which I actually really like. I want to buy it for the dry down scent, but I don't know if it's worth dealing with the weird first half hour with every application.

I agree with CaseyU below that sandalwood, as a base note, would have been more welcome than vetiver. That said, I really do enjoy this fragrance and generally find it to be more complex than most of Pacifica's tropical offerings. I love coconut and vanilla as perfumed partners-in-crime, and the body cream in particular is quite lush and lovely. It also makes for an excellent layering base for other gourmand fragrances.

When I was a child, I'd make milkshakes with vanilla ice cream, a dash of milk, a tablespoon of coconut and some coconut extract. BINGO! Here's my milkshake in non-edible form! I don't know if this milkshake will bring all the boys to the yard, but it's a fun & affordable gourmand romp. Coconut lovers, enjoy! Especially those who like their coconut without white florals. The first thing that came to my mind when applied this gentle, natural fragrance, was the juicy flesh of peaches or nectarines or perhaps even apricots a little, but no coconut! That on me emerges very softly (along with the vanilla) quite a bit later. This scent is lightly sweet, pretty, easy, simple, yummy and vanillic baby, that is, indeed, comforting, snugly and cozy, rather than exotic.

When I first apply this scent, it does have a plastic smell that many reviewers are mentioning. However, that smell goes away rather quickly and leaves a lovely, sweet smell of coconut in its wake. It reminds me of coconut frosting. I'm not one to generally go for dessert smelling scents so I don't tend to wear it all that often, but it is one of the better coconut scents I have tried.

It's nice–pretty sweet but not too overwhelming as I found that this scent does not last AT ALL. Kind of a bummer, especially since this scent is so strong when first applied. I do think it'd be great to layer with other scents to add a light sweetness to what you're pairing with it though. Also, no clue why it smells so much like Play-Doh when you first spritz it lol
