Madagascar Spice

Just wearing this for the first time today. Instantly, I am reminded of my favorite winter tea, "Constant Comment." The orange and clove are so cozy and perfect for fall/winter. I can't specifically pick out the pepper as it blends so nicely with the clove, just a nice hot spicey note. Definitely a fragrance fitting for the Holidays! I can struggle with clove in perfume, generally getting a headache. At this time I am not bothered by the clove, I will update if it become cloying. One of my favorite Pacifica's to date and I have all but Avalon Juniper (PM me if you want to sell it lol). I think this would smell beautiful with Island Vanilla, Sugared Amber Dreams, Mexican Cocoa, Tibetan Mountain Temple or to make it juicy and less wintery, Brazilian Mango or Tuscan Blood Orange!

I am pleasantly surprised by how gently sweet this scent is. It is cloves, no doubt, but dusty sugary cloves. In fact, it smells exactly like package of Necco Wafer candies to me. So delightful. Traces of sweet orange linger in the background, and the pepper is hardly detectable. Clove is the star here, and it is very authentic and natural smelling. A lovely soft blend. This was a blind buy for me, and I was prepared for a spice cabinet disaster, but I absolutely love using clove essential oil, so I decided to try it. Glad I did. A clove candy smelling treat :) Sillage is gentle, longevity could be improved. Highly recommended to those who love the aroma of cloves.

Madagascar Spice is a lovely and warming clove scent. This fragrance is all about rich spices, with the sweet and zesty orange note playing a supporting role. This is a simple, warm, and piquant scent that never becomes heavy or cloying. I have to agree with a previous reviewer that it brings to mind a Christmas pomander. Though this isn’t my number one favourite from the Pacifica line, I do enjoy it a great deal.

This scent is a nice room scent to me, nothing more. I can't see myself using it as a personal one. Will use for the holidays and colder months.

I am trying to expand my fragrance repertoire. I bought a few of the Pacifica scents at a local store. Like Spanish Amber, this scent did little for me. I was not expecting much from a mass marketed cologne and Madagascar Spice did not alter my opinion. The Pacifica website markets their fragrances as "environmentally friendly, beachy and spicy, down to earth fragrances...a scent for everyone...herbal &spicy, floral or fruity, woodsy, etc, etc." This statement leaves me feeling somewhat perplexed because with Pacifica fragrances, I experience none of the above...not even a little bit. To me, this is yet another very basic, very boring "middle-of-the-road" scent. I think Pacifica plays it safe with most of their scents because like others I have tried, Madagascar Spice has nothing unique to it with zero sillage, no staying power...it's completely forgettable. Cited as having "clove, orange and pepper" in it, I smell none of that in Madagascar Spice...certainly none of that on me when I wore it a few times This Pacifica scent, like the others, remind me of something a bit more exotic than cologne or perfume one might by at The Body Shop or a similar retailer. Like three other Pacifica scents that I recently tried,Madagascar Spice ended up for sale on eBay. Did not like it at all. Would never buy it again.
