Neon Moon

I absolutely love this perfume, I am a big fan of Pacifica perfumes but I wasn't too sure about this specific one. It took a good 3 wears for it to grow on me, When I first got it I didn't like how it smelled on me as I thought it didn't suit my skin as well but after a little while it smelled a bit better than before. Also I know this might be a unisex perfume for some but I think it smells more feminine in my opinion which I don't mind, As I am a 16 year old girl who likes to dress quite feminine and country The perfumes scent starts out as a nice warm woody spicy smell then fades to a beautiful powdery floral scent. I also sprayed it on myself (Two sprays) and it lasted me the whole day and I took a shower in the night but in the morning when I woke up I could smell it on myself which is quite odd since I make sure to clean myself as good as I can since I work outdoors but I guess that proves it sticks to certain skin very nicely. 10/10, I recommend this to anyone who wants a nice powdery, woody well-priced everyday perfume. It really grew on me after using only floral notes for an everyday perfume.

This is an incredible perfume. I reach for it more than anything else in my 100+ bottle niche and designer collection. It seems to shift between jasmine, smoky spices, and the DRIEST sandalwood I’ve ever smelled. Similar to Santal 33 without the pickles, with added jasmine (the viney jungle kind, not the well-behaved bouquet kind) and smokey depth. The cardamom is blended so smoothly that it gives it more to the texture than to the nose. The dry woods evoke something else too: dried violet, parchment, dry tea leaves? Normally fragrances like this are softened for mass appeal and cheapened by something generic: vanilla, amber, or something sugary or boozy. Not this one. This perfume seems to follow a singular vision and doesn’t give a damn if we like it or not. Whenever I stop smelling it, I immediately miss it. It’s under $30. Rich. Nuanced. Unique. Addictive. Unmistakable. I’m completely dumbfounded by how it even can exist at this price point. What a huge gamble this manufacturer has made. We’d better stock up before it’s discontinued.

Love this smell, it's an exact dupe for santal 33, and n.04 . Sprays nicely and is perfect for layering or just as a stand-alone. You might have to reapply every two hours if you want the scent to continue to stand out, but I like my smells to be intimate so I wouldn't reapply if I already sprayed 3-4 times the first time applying it. I paired it with Pacifica's neon moon body lotion and was able to smell like neon moon for a while, so this might be why I do not need to reapply. This is a great perfume if you want to smell clean and warm but cool at the same time- this is for you. It is a unisex perfume, so a perfect gift for anyone tbh! Cute bottle too!

I adore this scent. I have a sample of Santal 33, and they smell almost identical. The only difference is that this is a bit lighter, not as leathery. My boyfriend also adores this scent on me, and he even has mentioned him wanting to spray it on himself. I love how this is a woody scent that can be worn year-round. Its light enough to be worn in the summer, but would also be cozy in the winter. It is what I would describe as a "your skin but better" type of scent. It really just smells like your natural skin, it doesn't scream "perfume". This lasts forever on me and projects very well.

This scent is probably my favorite out of the Moon line from Pacifica. Since I am of Indian descent, it has a very pleasant spicy scent that reminds me of my childhood. Something about it reminds me of saffron and cardamom, even though saffron is not a note in this perfume. It smells more expensive than it’s price tag, and it’s much more unique than the rest of the line, which have a lot of pleasant but more common notes. I wear this during the summer, and I’ve gotten compliments. I bought two bottles of this because I’m halfway through the first bottle.

I purchased both discovery kits from Pacifica. I found myself rationing Neon Moon because I love it so much. I purchased a full bottle and it was a great choice for my tastes! Neon Moon is a cardamom bomb and lasts a good amount of time when I make sure to spray some on my clothes and not just my skin. I reminds me of another favorite, Book by Commodity, but neon moon is less pickles. I would also consider Silver Moon for a full bottle. The Moons collection is more interesting than the other sampler set. Sample first, regret nothing.

Upon first spray there was a sour smell that I found quite unpleasant. I immediately put the bottle down and expected to move on, but as soon as it dried down on my skin, it morphed into an absolutely stunning spicy sandalwood which lasted for the rest of the day. I had to go back and buy it. The first spray out of the bottle might seem strange but don't be fooled! If you love sandalwood, you'll love this. Delicious.

I personally LOVE this. It’s supposedly a santal 33 dupe but it seems that other people are not as big of fans of santal 33 as I am so I don’t wear it often as to not offend others. However, it’s so unique and comforting to me. I use it as a room spray before guests come over because I feel it gives a spa vibe.

I love this scent profile. It cleanse my scent palette , grounds and relaxes me. I have most of the above "this perfume reminds me" of and yes they're all related . Pacifica's version being my favorite. Reasons; you can spray with abandon and it doesn't feel heavy and no dill pickles present .

I LOVE how this smells in the bottle and on my person. It is one of the most addictive profiles I've ever experienced. My disappointment lies in the lasting power - it lasts maybe 1 hour on clothing, skin, and hair. I wish this weren't the case, as I adore it.

I was surprised by this. I haven't liked a lot from the moon line....silver moon is nice...but beyond that, haven't been impressed. This though is really good! A lot like no.4 and santal 33 - very nice for the price. longevity isn't too bad either!

I just love this one. It’s my signature 'cool girl' scent. This smells green, spicy, and warm. I find it energizing and I like to wear it to the gym, or with a white t-shirt and jeans. Love the price point. I just wish it lasted longer.

This smells almost identical to Santal 33, minus the leather note. Stunning, spicy, woodsy fragrance that’s both sexy and airy. Low-key smells like you’re taking a walk through a forest in the best possible way.

This is my boyfriends favorite scent on me, but one of the only ones in my collection he also sprays on himself

This is up there with the least congruent scent&bottle combos I've ever witnessed. I'll just throw that out there, and absolutely NOTHING about this is neon to me. It smells like a light brown, and it's soothing...not stimulating. The sandalwood is obvious, and so is the cardamom! I'm so happy the notes here are as advertised, because I absolutely love cardamom! My initial reaction upon smelling this was - 'Ooooh! Smokey indeed!, the combo of the smoke, sandalwood and cardamom actually give this a vetiver tone, and it's lovely. This is warming enough to be suitable for winter, but really...the entire feel of this fragrance screams "autumn!" to me, specifically mid-late October. It would be amazing on a crisp day with changing leaves. 🍂 ☀️ This is easily unisex (who cares? Wear what you like), and it has a slight resemblance to Santal 33. You might detect a slight pickle tone in this as well, I do, but it's not overbearing and as weird as it sounds...I kinda like it. I think this is worth testing in the Moon Moods sample pack, but it's not a safe blind buy (or maybe it is, it is inexpensive after all), I can forsee some folks not caring for this. It's moderate in both projection and longevity.

This is a unique scent, definitely different than the rest of my collection - I think it's the cardamom note. It smells like warm spice and I find it divine. I do not personally get the dill pickle smell others have experienced and I don't really pick up any florals from the jasmine. This smells like fall to me, like sipping on a chai latte in a corner bookstore while it's chilly outside. However, the longevity is brief, so I do need to reapply this pretty often. It's not expensive though, so I don't mind. I don't understand why they went with "Neon" for the name or the colors - that would imply something bright and summery and this is pretty much the opposite of both of those things.

Smells like hot goth summer. Modern and sexy, but youthful, urban, exotic, and has an oddly green vibe to it. More complex than the rest of the line. The cardamon is distinctive and bold, and reminds me of homemade thai tea with condensed milk. It's a beautiful heavy glass gradient bottle, but I must give my repeated gripe that there's no bottle cap on this line. The scent transports me to an oppressively hot summer night with a dark and mysterious companion who I'll probably never see again but who - in the words of The Cure...makes me feel like I am fun again, young again, and free again.

Sampled this today at Target after reading a bit about it here. I have never smelled Santal 33, so I can't join the comparison game. At first spray, I got the dill pickle smell other reviewers mentioned. Definitely off-putting, because as much as I love dill pickles, I really don't want to smell like one. Thankfully, that opening note is fairly brief as the fragrance moves into warm sandalwood. The drydown is the star for me: really beautiful, sweet sandalwood. I like it a lot.

I’m so grateful for this fragrance because it made me realize that cardamom works with my body chemistry fantastically!!! I love how the sandalwood and cardamom blend together in this, it’s kind of a strange scent. I love it. I don’t detect much jasmine, maybe in the background a little. If you like spice and woods you might like this, but it is somewhat a strange scent, not a safe blind buy unless you’re well acquainted with sandalwood and cardamom.

This is VERY similar to santal 33 but I think leans slightly more feminine. It smells very clean and woody and fresh. The smell is really unique, it almost has something cooling and herbaceous like mint. There is no pickle smell which is amazing! I find some of the fragrance brands at target that are sandalwood forward have that pickly version of it, but this does not.

It's pleasant enough. The cardamom makes it pretty; the jasmine makes it suitable for warm weather. I thought it was a bit boring for fall, though. Until I took Vicschmidtscents' advice to layer it with something creamy -- Philosophy Fresh Cream makes this perfect for fall!

Just finished my bottle and it was a good perfume. My siblings did not like it lmao. I liked it, it smelled different than what I usually go for but I would not buy it again. It was a blind buy. I give it a 6.5/10 honestly.

Yes, very close to Santa 33, also starts out like a pickle. But smells natural all throughout, I would say it's a great scent.

So out of all the moon moods I've tried, this is my least favorite. Its not bad, it's just not something I love. I'm. It exactly sure what it is? Maybe the smoked cardamom? I think I prefer fresh? Idk. I also LOVE jasmine, but it really doesn't come through strong in this scent. On the drydown, the smokiness goes away a bit and the sandalwood comes out more so it's a bit more tolerable...but it's not a very remarkable scent after the drydown, compared to some of the others (Blue, Silver, Flower) Someone said pickle smell? And at first I didn't smell it but when it started to dry down, and after a scent spray I started to pick it up. Maybe it's the saltiness of the skin chemistry? I don't pick it up a lot, it's very subtle for me...but it's like...akin to the vinegar, salt, dill kind of vibe, where the pickle jar has leaves in it? And the wood for the sandalwood is like...if it's kept in a wood pantry shelf. Maybe if I macerates a bit I may like it? Really not sure when I'd want to wear this... probably when it's cooler...but not winter cool. Like springtime? During night? Or fall? I think if you're not a fan of the more vanilla moon mood scents, and like more of a woody floral, low to mild sweetness greener type scent, you might like this.

Kind of wish I didnt read these reviews because yea, now I smell pickles. Not from the jar though, its defintly a pickle flavor potatoe chip. Which now I cant unsmell. I have the perfume and the body/hair spray. The cardamom is strong! No jasmine for me. Dry down reminds me of smoky old browned wood? Musty? Smells like walking into a cabin in the summer time after it being locked up for many months. Musty, slightly damp, but also smokey old cedar wood. That being said, I dont hate it. Just really reminded of an old bag of pickle chips left over the winter in a mountain cabin. A far cry from what makes me think of when I read "Neon Moon".

I agree that this is a dupe for Santal 33, but I like this one a little more. It has a certain sweetness to it though it is very woody and forresty so this is very unisex. I can see what people are saying with the dill pickle though xD, unfortunately. This smells very unique relative to the rest of my collection so I’m debating whether or not to keep it. I feel like this scent profile doesn’t fit me, though. It’s not like it smells bad on me. It just doesn’t suit my personality. This seems to be for someone who is more grounded, relaxed, and naturey. I lean toward very sweet amber vanilla fragrances and this is anything but. :/

I tested this on my skin while at Target. It was an odd experience because normally I love sandalwood, cardamom, and jasmine. Unfortunately, though, Neon Moon just smelled very cheap. I hear it’s a dupe for Santal 33 which I have never smelled before. I’m curious to smell it though since my nose wanted to like Neon Moon but there was just something I didn’t fully get along with.

I don't smell it as floral or jasmine just cardamom and sandalwood, with sandalwood as the dominant note. You might associate the sandalwood with pickle/dill. The dry down is simply a light, but beautiful, sandalwood note. It's not complex by any means, but good if you appreciate a woodsy, lightly spiced, simple perfume.

this starts with a green floral note (i would not have guessed jasmine) then the cardamom and sandalwood come through. this is green but also warm. i would not say this smells like jasmine at all. while not a love for me, i think this is the best i've tried of the five in the sample pack i bought.

It's a good fragrance if you enjoy spicy, warm fragrances. I'm not a fan of the sandalwood in this one, but the cardamom is sweet. I wish the jasmine weren't such an afterthought; it's barely noticeable, unlike the sandalwood, taking all the attention.

I really don’t get any of the listed notes for Neon Moon. Perhaps, I get a touch of sandalwood. But mainly, I get a very sweet note I would describe as passion fruit. Very odd. I don’t care for it.

A more synthetic and watered down linear Santal 33 dupe, without the leather/paper/iris notes. I prefer Clean Reserves Sel Santal to this, as it’s stronger, better quality, and longer lasting.

Starts off very fresh/green/herbal (if that makes any sense), the jasmine is noticeable in this phase. It then dries down to a very faint floral, with stronger sandalwood and slight cardamom.

At first impression, this was a straightforward sandalwood and jasmine scent that I found on clearance. Unfortunately, when I revisited this at home I was surprised by the most unpleasant whiff of smokey pickle juice—far more so than other sandalwood scents like Santal 33. While I wouldn’t consider any of Pacifica's offering multifaceted or dynamic, as a broke college student, I have been pleased to get photorealistic linear florals from their heritage collection that can be layered over my homemade perfumes. After smelling the new collections, I believe Pacifica has transitioned from creating bio identical scents using natural essential oil components to using synthetics. The newest launches are nauseating. I would only get the French Lilac, Persian rose, or Tahitian Gardenia if you are looking for an affordable and fairly realistic floral.

This is interesting. I'm not particularly a cardamom fan. This starts off smelling like pickles and spice and has a very indian spices vibe. It's different. After wearing it for a bit the slight creamyness of the sandalwood comes out with a hint of the jasmine. I wouldn't call it unpleasant but this is pretty masculine smelling to me. In my mind its more a spicy men's cologne. It also smells a bit like sweat at times. As far as sandalwood fragrances I prefer Santal Vanille by 7 Virtues. Edit: was wearing this, trying to give it a chance and had a guy tell me "it stinks" and I showed him the bottle of this and he was very much not a fan. So I showed it to multiple men and they all unanimously hated it. Which makes sense because I couldn't really see most guys liking this on a girl.

I was right to assume this would be my least favorite of the set I tried. Don't get me wrong, it's not the worst. Upon first spraying it smelt like bug spray, but as it dried down it began to smell more like just general nature. Wood, moss, kinda spicy, I don't hate it but it's personally not my vibe. I'd rather just go out in the forest behind my house for this smell lol.

I'm not familiar with woody notes, so that this with a grain of salt, but it smells a lot like wood chips to me.

I blind bought this one expecting to love it. I am a jasmine fanatic and like all of the notes in this individually so I figured it was a safe blind buy. There is something about it that is just off. I also grabbed the "Moon" sampler from Pacifica and like all of them except this. I get a raw sort of smell that isn't exactly unpleasant initially but it becomes increasingly off putting the longer I smell it until it's nauseating and I have to wash it off. It's a bit reminiscent of cheap pot. I don't know if it's a greenness to the cardamom or just inelegant blending but it's eventually just gross. It is also persistent, I tried spraying other things over it and changing clothes, it just infected the fresh clothing. I would classify this as unisex, if you were a man who wanted to smell terrible.

Edit: first ? I am soooo jealous of the people who actually get sandalwood!! 😢 I went in positive, that I will get creamy sandalwood...and it was immediate pickles ha. It does NOT just start out as pickles....it STAYS pickle!! I use to laugh and think do people really smell pickles with sandalwood scents!? Until I bought this! I smell a bit floral it’s like my nose picks up the cardamom but before I can breathe it in, grasp it to enjoy....BAM pickles!? Super bummed I just wanted a woody spicy cheap scent to throw in my bag....some reviewers lied ha

Cardamom? Sandalwood? Jasmine? No. All I can smell are dill, pepper, and ozone. It's an oriental scent that reminds me somewhat of Imari from Avon.Luckily, there's no vinegar scent to turn it into a dill pickle like some have mentioned, but it's nothing I want to wear on purpose.

On paper I should like this but instant headache! I have a range of cheap perfumes and normally synthetic doesn’t bother me but something about this sandalwood is absolutely nauseating! It sticks to the skin so I really had to scrub it off.

Wow. I heard this was a dupe for Santal 33 and put some on while I did the rest of my shopping at Target. I was skeptical. Very skeptical. Inflation has me down bad, so I despaired of enjoying Santal 33 this Fall. A kind Reddit Fragrance Sub, feeling the pain of a fellow fraghead yearning for their one true love, took pity on my poor soul and is sending me a decant for the cost of shipping; but I know it won't get me far. Once I start with Santal 33 I can't stop. I can't. It's basic but I love it and I don't care what anyone thinks. As I was sucked into the black hole that is Target the sillage of Santal 33 kept wafting across my nose. Now, this is not an exact dupe. It lacks the layered complexity of Santal 33. There are nuances in Santal 33 I do not get from Neon Moon. You don't get the strong pickle / cucumber peel opening of Santal 33; there's a touch of it but it's not as pronounced. You also don't get the complex dance of spices as it dries down. What does happen is that the throw is what I like best about the majority of my time wearing Santal 33. You get a dusty, cardamom sandalwood that is reminiscent of old books in the finely worn and well preserved library of an Indian Ashram. This effect is the kinesthetic equivalent of bare feet on an old hardwood floor, the feel of high quality leather as it ages into buttery softness. Worth a try for Santal 33 lovers looking for an everyday holdover while we ride out this economy.

This immediately smells like violet to me, even though it’s not listed on the notes. Santal 33 *does* have violet, and everyone says this is a dupe of Santal 33. So I guess it makes sense that I smell violet. Anyways, violet is one of those notes that I either love or hate, depending on the composition and for some reason in this one, I hate it. It’s all I can really smell, it overtakes anything else to my nose. Everyone’s nose is different of course because unlike a lot of people, I never smell dill pickles when I sniff sandalwood perfumes or cat pee when I smell cassis, lol. But this just smells like dirty violets to me. Personally not a fan (no offense to those that are). I threw away my sample :/
