Persian Rose

When I was first learning to meditate, a wise teacher taught me that often the simplest things are the most powerful. I know that is true of this beautiful perfume in the humblest, simplest bottle. This is a straight-forward rose scent, for those times when nothing but simple, pure, fresh roses will do. It has depth, but its strength lies in its simplicity. I have quite a few rose scents in my collection, but none that I love quite as much as this one. I was expecting quite a lot from this scent that so daringly calls itself Persian Rose. I think that the Persian and the Mexican cultures have the highest regard for roses, and give them their appropriate adoration. Both cultures use roses extensively in every day life, in cooking and eating, gifts, adornment, medicine, beautification, decoration, bathing, celebrations, and even in religious ceremonies. Infact, one of the many names for Mother Mary, the mother of God, is the “Mystic Rose”. I have seen beautiful rose gardens around the world, but the “Holy Grail” for me would be to see the rose gardens in Damascus, the oldest city in the world, the first to cultivate roses and master the use of their scent, but because of the political climate I may never get there in my lifetime. As usual, Pacifica has transported me instantly to the streets of Damascus, where I can feel like the main subject in one of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema’s paintings, and all I have to do is close my eyes and inhale. Thank you, Pacifica.

This was one of my first fragrance purchases ever, and I assumed that because of its price point and my own inexperience, it would prove to be meager and unsophisticated in comparison with more famous or elite fragrances I felt sure to encounter later. I've now smelt around a range of prices and profiles of my beloved Rose, but I keep coming back to this one. I have only ever had the rollerball, so these are my impressions. Persian Rose is delicate, precise, and honest. There is an gentle play between sweet and fresh, never tilting too far in either direction. When I smell it on my skin I feel like a flower fairy waking up nestled in the center of a new pink rose. It's a dewy spring morning, with a soft sun just rising in the garden. The fragrance feels as soft and cool as a petal against a cheek. There is no soapiness, no jamminess, no clever sleights of hand - none are required. This fragrance communicates the elegance of its inspiration, and I always feel elevated when I wear it. The sillage is intimate, which is my preference (this may be due to the rollerball). I can smell it for 5-6 hours after applying. I think that with Persian Rose for day and Amouage's Rose Incense for night, a rose lover like myself can find indefinite delight. A possible blind buy for a lover of rose or otherwise refined, thoughtful florals.

If you are a rose scent lover as I am, then I encourage you to try Persian Rose! I was looking for a natural smelling rose, and I found it! I prefer this perfume to most other rose fragrances available. When it is first sprayed, I get a wine-like opening note on some occasions and a lemon-rose scent on other days. While it is drying, the myrrh gets heady and sometimes overpowers the rose, depending on how warm I am at the time. I think body heat brings out the myrrh more on a warm day. The roses lean to the Hawaiian Punch side on cool days but they are deeply pure rose on warm days. When I'm quite warm and I apply it, I am amazed that I won't smell any lemon at all, but on a cool day I will smell quite a bit of lemon along with the rose. I have a rose garden with some forty rose varieties in it, and I am impressed at how close Persian Rose by Pacifica comes to a myrrh scented variety I have by the name of Distant Drums. If you are not aware that roses come in a myrrh scented version, you might take a look at Distant Drums. It's a great bloomer and grower and I find the scent of its flowers quite mesmerizing!

This is gorgeous! Persian Rose is an amazing natural rose scent. I actually wasn't expecting to be blown away by this one. I'm a little fussy about rose in a perfume - sometimes it can come across as too powdery, too soapy, too stuffy for my taste. But here it is dewy, velvety and luscious. The intensive rose note is there throughout the full development of the fragrance. In the beginning, the fruity notes help to amplify the delicate sweetness of the rose. I get the sense of juicy mandarin and perhaps some lush, tart berries. I don't get the violet coming through that strongly. It shows up to add a hint of soft powder in the heart notes, but it's the least noticeable note in the composition. The myrrh works wonderfully. It emerges in the drydown, and gives off a sourish-earthy scent reminiscent of crisp-green rose stems and fresh soil. This fragrance strikes me as a very high quality scent, especially so considering the low price point. This is one of the best Pacifica perfumes I've tested yet..and so far it's my favourite floral scent from the line.

When first sprayed, its sourness is strong, but that blends back into the rose after a few minutes. The scent, for me, is spot on: loomi and rosewater. Loomi (or Black lime) is a Persian dried and fermented lime. They are sour and smoky; earthy and citrusy; utterly unique. They’re a necessary seasoning in all sorts of Persian food and drink. I suppose that the smoky myrrh and citrus fruit notes are causing that loomi smell, and I wonder if it was, at all, intentional. Black lime and rose are both such quintessentially Persian scents and flavors. This is not a powdery French rose. Persian Rose lives up to it’s name, with the sweet rose taking the center stage, and exotic black lime drifting though it. Loomi can be soaked in water with sugar to make a “lemonade” type beverage, sometimes with a splash of rosewater, and this perfume instantly takes me back to sipping that beverage in a favorite Iranian cafe... I can’t help but love it.

Persian Rose was one of my signature scents when I was in high school, which I’ve kinda grown out of because I wanna try new fragrances, but it will always be special to me. Despite the low price point, it’s one of the most sophisticated and mature rose frags I’ve ever tried. The myrrh is very strong in the opening to the point where it reminds me of a church, but the rose and violet give that note a nice feminine veneer. Dried fruits are more apparent in the dry down, which is much more sweet and fresh. The longevity of this perfume made it so that I could spray this on in the early mornings and enjoy the moodiness of the opening, then experience it “mellowing out” along with me throughout the day. I usually think rose fragrances are for spring but this one is 100% fall or winter in my opinion. It will probably always be my favorite Pacifica fragrance. I’ve already gone through 3 bottles in my lifetime!

All I can say is slayyyyy!! Well that’s not all I can say. But for a $22 perfume...damn!! I own several perfumes, my most expensive is $185. I find myself reaching for this gem often and it’s my second most used perfume. It’s bright and watery and juicy- and just smells like a true rose. I don’t feel like I’m wearing perfume when I have this on- I just feel like a luscious Venusian mermaid. This can be worn at any time of day and I really love it in the springtime and in the fall. It can be dressed up or down and is easily layerable. Super versatile and pleasurable to the nose. Compliment-getter. Did I mention it lasts foreverrrr?? I sprayed once behind each ear around noon yesterday, and I still smelled it this morning at 6:30am and even faintly this afternoon (sorry, didn’t shower today, shoot me). I’ll always make sure to have this perfume on hand.

A coworker came into the office after a trip to the gym, and her fragrance was wonderful. Of course, I had to ask. It was Persian Rose. I had some on order before the afternoon was over. I've been wearing it for almost two hoursnow, and it has settled into the rose. It's a light, lovely rose. But, I was not expecting the citrus blast right out of the bottle. And I do mean "blast." I kind of loved it. I very much enjoy lemon/citrus everything...from my tea to desserts to bath and body products. I have enjoyed citrus aromas long enough to know they are fleeting. And, true to form, the heavy citrus didn't last much longer than 15 minutes. But, that's OK. It is fun while it lasts. Now, I'm enjoying the rose that my friend brought into the office with her. So much bang for not very many bucks. This one is a standout in my collection.

Legitimately the best rose scent. Smells like pure rose essential oil with a bit of depth and warmth. Can be worn in any weather. I feel like a goddess wearing this. Rose is not to everyone’s liking, so I’m cautious about over spraying this one. I find that more often than not, I’m reaching for this perfume. My husband didn’t care for it at first but it’s grown on him. The value is insane and I can’t believe that something that smells this good consistently is priced so well. I hope they never stop making this. I have been tempted to try Delina and other rose perfumes, and I have tried Chloe before too. Again at this price...why would I bother with anything else? It smells super high quality too, so don’t let the price tag fool you. A little bit of this fragrance goes a long way, has an excellent wear time and decent sillage.

This is beautiful. I have a tiny sample and here are my impressions as I've worn this applied to wrists and throat: When it first hits the skin - lemon pudding, sprinkled with lemon sherbet, and real rose, the smell when you put your nose to a rose. Then, develops into 'Taif Rose' - which I'm judging from having tried (and hated, but wait) Al-Rehab Taif Rose recently - but without the screeching and unbearable ?eugenol which that has. Then, Persian Rose becomes incense-like and very beautifully BALMY - the myrrh I presume? I don't get any 'fruit' apart from lemon, or any violet at all. I was wearing this when I opened the oven earlier, to take or some hot food, and the waft of this perfume that rose in the heat - oh! Big bottle going on my wishlist.

This came to me as a gift and I am so grateful. I'm not so much into pure florals, but this is an exception. It opens with a syrupy sweet rose in full bloom, and from there, softens to a dark and sweet yet powdery incense on me. It's great on its own, but I enjoy this most when I layer it over Lush's Karma - the patchouli and orange really bring out the dark sweetness of the rose, and add to the smokiness. Someone told me one day that I smelled like the Dubai Mall, which I took as a high compliment! This is a true Middle Eastern rose, mature and full-bodied. Of the Pacifica collection I've smelled, I find it to be the most true to its name. It smells exactly the way you'd expect Persian Rose to smell - exotic, pure, evocative, and inviting.

Huh. I ordered when it was on sale expecting disappointment. My experience with "natural" perfumes has been middling at best. Had hoped that Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria Rosa Rossa would scratch my rose itch as I searched for less-toxic perfumes, but I can't even smell that one. Enter Pacifica's Persian Rose: it's good! Projects better, and it's FAR cheaper! This is a safe, basic, realistic rose that smells a little more mature than the popular lychee-rose combos currently flooding the market, but still smells lush and a tad spicy (just get past the initial lemony-smokey opening). Anyone at any stage in her life could wear it. UPDATE: layered with equal amounts of Pacifica's Sunrise Moon and now I smell like fruit punch.

I've never been one for florals, and especially not rose, but something about this one is so wonderful. The intense yet natural and airy rose is tempered with some citrus, creating an almost jammy floral experience. The myrrh adds just the right amount of sweetness and warmth, with a little spice every now and again, which makes this fragrance feel like it's just soaked in sun. This has quickly become my go-to spring scent that I can see transitioning perfectly into summer due to that citrus opening. Reminds me of Acqua di Parma's Rosa Nobile. Granted, I haven't worn that scent in a while, but from memory they're both a beautiful, natural rose with a little complexity that steer them away from headache territory.

Persian Rose Perfume Spray is a very strong pure natural rose fragrance, warm, uplifting, and very spicy. The spices in this one are NOT deep and dark like incense......the myrhh here is more like a sparkly mix of cloves and cinnamon. The citrus fruits give this one a crispy, bright fresh note, but the fruits do not envelop the rose. Violet is not easily detected, so it seems to be there only to smooth and soften the citrus fruits. Not powdery, not sultry, not dark or intense. Just a pure rose scent with spices added for sparkle. Longevity is at least 12 hours on skin, clothing and hair. Silage is great, and lasting. A tiny bit of Persian Rose goes a long way. It's just beautiful !

Grabbed this at Whole Foods yesterday - WOW! The single tester spray lasted awhile (4-5 hrs) before I was tempted to respray, just to catch that opening again. This is a very unique Rose scent in my collection. The leomony-Rose opening is INTOXICATING! I received a few compliments during my test run of it :). Rose seems to work very well with my chemistry. The dry-down is so pleasant and delightful. The Rose is smooth and fresh. The myrhh is slightly detectable...I think it's was balances out the Rose from being too overpowering. I sprayed 2 sprays on my wrists just now, and the room is filled with this beauty ;). Highly recommended. Can't wait to try more of Pacifica scents!

After wanting this fragrance for quite some time, I finally bought it blind since I was unable to find it in my area. As a rose fragrance lover, I’m not disappointed at all! It’s quite lovely! The lime opening is quite strong but it doesn’t last too long for me. Once it dries down a bit I’m left with a somewhat dry and spiced rose. It makes me think of a rose garden at night with a citrus grove off in the distance. The longevity is about average, I get around 4-5 hrs from it with moderate sillage. In all I consider it a very successful purchase and I’m thrilled to add it to my perfume cabinet.

This is the Rose of my dreams. It's is sweet, deep and powdery. It's starts off with a lemony kind of blast, which I tolerate, but some mayreally enjoy. I personally do not like citrus in my fragrance. But not to worry, because it is fleeting, dissipating with in a minute, only to reveal the most gorgeous of roses, which is what will remain for the rest of the wear. I say that I don't mind, because I truly believe the citrus that is present in the beginning is essential to the dry down, to leave you with the perfect fragrance that is Persian Rose. Elegant, mysterious, yet innocent.

This is the freshest fragrance I've ever had. There is nothing about it that's artificial, or "old." Green, yet sweet, it envelopes me in pure tea rose, citrus fruit, and a hint of myrrh...not just for a few hours, but all day. This brings me back to my great grandmother's home in Canada, with her beautiful gardens. I loved breathing in the roses on a spring day. I have received many compliments on this fragrance. Just be careful not to use this too heavily. A couple of sprays will get you noticed by anyone nearby.

I have tried so many rose fragrances both expensive and affordable and this is undoubtedly my favorite rose of all time. It smells like a sweet rosewater with a subtle skin note, making it very natural and photorealistic. I find that this lingers on my clothes for a very long time after spraying it and for $22 its a great deal, one bottle usually lasts me around 4-5 months but I also spray a lot. I wear this year round but it's the perfect springtime fragrance with just the right amount of citrus to it. LOVE!

Best rose scents hands down!!! I bought the MFK L'eau a la rose yesterday and today I compare it with my old stash of Persian Rose... Sadly, the cheapie (Persian Rose from Pacifica costs like $25 from Whole Foods compared to MFK's $250 from Nordstrom) wins by far. The Persian Rose perfume smells natural, passionate, vibrant, fruity and a little bit dark. I think I will keep with my Persian Rose and use MFK sparingly LOL... For reference I am a woman, mature, artistic and in general prefer the oriental genre.

Juicy myrrh rose, relatively self explanatory and moderately realistic. if you’re looking for a rich rose that isn’t horribly expensive I absolutely recommend this! The opening is a bit intense, but settles beautifully, especially so when sprayed onto clothing. This was my go to for layering all throughout highschool, I had the body spray and the soap as well and it was such a comforting smell to surround myself in. She was a compliment getter ♡

Incredible! Do you ever wish you could smell as sweet as a red rose, so that others passing by would sniff you? I do, and this is true to life! I have never smelled a rose fragrance that is so simple and yet so alluring. No synthetic smell here. It makes you feel precious, and whenever I wear it, it almost feels spiritual, as if I am being enlightened to look at life as more beautiful than ever. I highly recommend it.

I like Pacifica's version of the classic rose. It does have a slightly fruity quality and it's definitely not an old, powdery Victorian rose. The other notes only add to the rose scent, not detract from it. It's very nice for layering with other Pacifica fragrances, like Spanish Amber. I wore it when I got my hair done, and my hairdresser (a man) couldn't stop complimenting me on it.

I LOVE this scent. I'm usually not a big florals fan, but this is a perfect balance of floral and fruit. The sillage and longevity is impressive too. I can easily smell it on myself with just a few sprays. I put it on six hours ago and it's still going strong! I wish the bottle came with a cap, I'd be afraid to travel with it, but I guess that's what rollerballs are for anyway.

My favourite rose scent. Nothing overpowering and such a good price! The scent lasts me a whole day and I get plenty of compliments with this one! I can totally understand why people find this to be a "grandma" fragrance, but I'd call it classy and something can can easily be your signature scent. A very straightforward scent and *perfect* if you love roses

I grew roses for some years, and love them all. This smells like the real deal, once a year bloomers or sturdy rugosas. It is full bodied, complete, a bit heavy as some have noted. Persian rose has the twist of citrus that accents the bloom. I would definitely recommend it for cold weather. I have perfume eating skin,and the longevity is good.

Got my 1 oz. bottle of this beautiful fragrance, today. Have been wanting this since testing it last year at my local grocery store. This is another Pacifica perfume that stays true to its name, Persian Rose. It's deep, crisp, and inviting. Makes you wanna keep smelling the inside of your arm where you just sprayed. One word: Fabulous!!

My favorite rose scent of all time. It's young, rich, slightly spicy and lasts forever! I find it quite strong, so I spray in moderation. The matching body butter and shower gel are just as wonderful. The roll-on perfume also lingers for a while and fills a room just by lightly dabbing on skin. Strong stuff!

Quite possibly the best of Pacificas OG line and a safe blind buy. This is NOT a nauseatingly sweet incense rose, it’s powdery, dry, and softly sweet. It’s not a matronly scent by any means, it just pulls as sophisticated and confident. I hope they never reformulate.

I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. It's not powdery or an "old lady" fragrance; it's a true rose that also has a subtle spice to it. On me, it lasts a really long time and wears really well. This is one of my favorites, particularly for the Spring and Summer months.

This may be my favorite version of a rose scent. It is totally rosy- but also bright, with a spicy drydown that I adore. It never overpowers, but it stays with me longer than most scents. I feel like this is a nice, updated rose that feels fun, young, and exciting.

Bought this lovely frag at Ulta last week, and it is making a GREAT work/daytime scent. If one could bottle the scent of the delectable rosewater infused pastries and baklava from the plethora of local Mediterranean/Lebanese bakeries here , this would be it.

Pure clear red rose, a touch of myrrh and just a whisper of powdery violet. The essence of Pacifica Persian Rose is captured by The Soul of the Rose by John William Waterhouse. Just beautiful.

Fell in love with this many years ago and still love it. Identical to traditional Turkish Delight/Lokum sweets, this hits perfectly and lasts forever.

My favourite rose perfume of all - and I love many! Such a fabulous, exotic, smoky, deep rich rose. Perfection!

Very nice, exotic rose, reminds me of Indian beauty or Egyptian beauty and Gypsy beauty.

A fresh lemony rose with a slight fresh-spicy resinous background. Definitely very lemony, almost a screechy cleaning product vibe when first sprayed, but it gets better as time goes on. To me roses usually smell a little lemony so it works ok. There's a hint of sweetness in the lemon reminiscent of a lemon hard candy, but not enough to make this a sweet or jammy rose perfume. This will be a good summer daytime rose frag, but it could work any time of year. A pretty successful blind buy for me although it wasn't a very risky one at $25 for a bottle. If you like fresh rose perfumes and don't need them to be super refined and delicate, this is worth trying. I love Rose Absolue from Annick Goutal, but it costs a fortune and is impossible to find in the U.S. This $12.00 dollar beauty (roller ball version) is a fine substitute. It's a full bodied boozy rose that lasts a full day and night. It smells very natural and is completely vegan and cruelty free. This is suppose to have fruit notes, violet and myrhh, but I only really pick up rose. It's a beautiful complex rose, though. So, there must be a lot of stuff hidden in there that I just can't detect. I'll cherish the few remaining dregs from my Goutal, but when I'm done with both of these perfumes, I'll spring for a large version of the Persian Rose instead. A rose by basically the same name, smells just as sweet.

This is the first perfume I bought with the intent of finding my signature scent, and it certainly did the job for a while! My coworkers always knew I was around whenever they smelled this scent lingering in the air. It's definitely sweet, but it does have a nice citrus to balance out the rose. It's easy for rose to become powdery, but this definitely retains a youthful, summery smell because of those citrus notes. I think I replaced this bottle three times, but I ended up giving the third bottle to my friend who wanted to explore some new scents!

I'm on the hunt for my favorite rose, and this one is close! There is a varietal of white hybrid tea rose called Sugar Moon, which possesses a characteristic sugared-lemon blast that so far I have found Persian Rose to replicate EXACTLY, much to my newfound pleasure! This is a deeply sweet, yet sunny rose that absolutely blooms in warmer weather, with judicious application. I detect zero violet, but definitely get the myrrh during that resinous, incense-y drydown - and I think I prefer it that way. Absolutely delicious.

Velvety dried roses with a touch of sweetness. The opening does have a sharp citrusy bite but it does fade within 10 minutes. A little goes a LONG way (at least with the rollerball) so be careful! Very refreshing and feminine, also good for all seasons. I wore it today on a breezy 75 degree day and just sat outside to soak up some sun and it wore beautifully while feeling very natural. Pick this up if you want a very casual rose scent. Nothing crazy or artsy here, but it’s pleasant nonetheless.

I bought several of the Pacifica sample solid perfumes, and while I usually quite enjoy smelling the sprays and roll-ons by this company, most of the solids were very disappointing and smelled nothing like their liquid counterparts. With the exception of Persian Rose. I wear this solid all the time and for such a basic scent, I find it really appealing and it holds my interest for a long time. A lovely rose that sidesteps the stereotypical antiquity and fuddy-duddy-ness of it's lineage.

A straight forward rose water with an initial hint of violet that dissipates to honeyed apricots and plums enriched with hints of myrrh. While nothing from Pacifica is particularly dynamic and layered, you get surprisingly realistic floral perfumes for the price. Unfortunately, nothing from their new collection even compares to the heritage perfumes. They have been gradually replacing the heritage perfumes with new versions so buy these while you can.

I love the freshness of this one right after applying. As it dries, it becomes much spicier with a powdery note, and that makes me sad. I admittedly struggle with rose scents because I am a rose gardener, and I want my rose perfumes to smell like my roses, real, wet and full of other notes like lemon and apricots. When they don't, I'm harsher on them than I should be. I blame them for not being what I want. I'll be using it on clothing and belongings.

This rose is quite unique in that upon initial spray you get the rose, the spice and the citrus fruitiness all at once. It doesn't hold back! Drydown is sweet and fresh. I don't have any other rose-centric fragrance like this one by Pacifica, and I am so used to the usual lush, rose-y greenery that is so common but lovely in its own right. Unfortunately it looks like it too will join the ranks of the discontinued, grab it while you can.

On my skin, this starts out like a powdery rose version of Mrs. Myers Geranium liquid cleaner. The citrus evaporates quickly and then it becomes a lot less punchy, eventually drying down to a very powdery but still bright rose. Out of the bottle it's much more energetic and youthful than it is on my skin, but it's a comforting scent and smells more soft retro than old lady on me. A good scent for warm sunny days.

Smells like a "Lemon Spice" hybrid tea rose, with a little bit of "Double Delight". It's beautiful! This is a happy, fresh, energetic rose that's wearable any time, anywhere. I have the hair and body spray and I love to douse myself in it and layer it with other rose perfumes (or wear it on its own). It's a remarkably great scent for being so inexpensive, and it lasts longer than many of my pricy fragrances.

I love this fragrance, and I have a couple of backup bottles from when I thought it was about to be discontinued. I used to combine this with a cheap, sweet, jasmine and vanilla perfume and got a lot of compliments. Really though, it is beautiful by itself. This perfume is an incredible value and I am so glad Pacifica is continuing to make it. I would like to always have a bottle available.

This is great if you LOVE rose, specifically a very turkish delight type smell. It's very straight forward and a great affordable sweet rose scent. I normally don't go for Pacifica just because they tend to be very "basic" and safe, but I do like this one a lot because I'm a fan of rose. This is something I spray when I just feel happy. It is what it is and that's a good thing.
