Swedish Leather

Swedish Leather packs quite a punch. Each spray is the olfactory equivalent of taking a boxing glove right to the schnoz. Not a new one, but rather a Victorian boxing glove that has spent decades mingling its essence with the pall of tobacco smoke and sweat in a dusty gym. Although the opening is fierce, after 10-15 minutes the rampaging beast becomes domesticated with surprisingly restrained sillage. There is a subtle sweetness from the resins in the heart that gives a specific impression of pipe tobacco. That sweetness continues to evolve into a glorious honey accord drawn back from gourmand territory by the leather notes. It can be picked up on clothes days later. Retail price is ridiculous. Wait for a deep discount.

This stuff has really impressive longevity. I spritzed myself with Swedish Leather on Christmas morning for those gorgeous leather and tobacco notes. Eight hours later I applied a healthy dose of Montale's Aoud Cuir d’Arabie for my own enjoyment. Despite the hours separating them, Swedish Leather's honey and tobacco kept popping up through the isobutyl quinoline onslaught of Aoud Cuir with impressive frequency and intensity. After another eight hours the Montale scent is effectively gone while Pana Dora's masterpiece is still projecting a tight but remarkably dense scent bubble from the morning application. I love it.

What an absolutely amazing scent. It's rich, strong, elegant, and has that Pana Dora DNA that all their fragrances have. This was a blind buy and the BEST blind buy I've had in 2024 so far. It's a classy, leathery, confident fragrance that I can't compare to anything else I've ever smelled outside of the house of Pana Dora. I'm am so happy with this one and look forward to wearing it often.

Beware! Very smoky beginning. Settles a bit after a while and then brings the beautiful backbone of the frag and a special feeling. A Blacksmiths old thick Leather apron impregnated with years of smoke and he ́s been working all those years in a log shed located deep in the Scandinavian forests. 7,6 / 10

Dense strong and long lasting, the effect of a fresh tanned leather is to the max. There’s literally very little sweet notes in between since the leather is so thick.

Its super leathery and smokey, my gf loves it when wear it aoraund her, might buy myself a full bottle

This was the last pana dora i had to smell and it was not disappointing when i smelt it. To me this smells very very similar to majestic amber however it opens slightly sweeter and dries down to a more animalistic version. Very solid fragrance and im a big fan of how pana dora uses leather in their fragrances, its really unique and high quality smelling so for me this is defo something id recommend. This is nice however i think i prefer majestic amber as it smells more woody to me however its all preference of course. glad to have now tried each pana dora. This fragrance house is definitely my favorite house ive ever tried, banger after banger they just dont miss. Even the 'worse' or 'mid' fragrances that dont appeal to me still have this unbelievably high standard they all follow and i can only appreciate the time and effort the people over in Sweden have done to make these fragrances possible. For me my Top 5= Kropp&Sjal,Imperial wood, Orchestra, Opuluxe and finally Moonlight. Lots of love for this house!

I like it. Its complex. Reminds of Spirit of Dubai stuff a little bit. Not quite the same quality nor as complex as SOD but its good. Its not choking leather like a Tuscan Leather and its not flirting with leather like a dior home parfum. Its very leather centric but still highly wearable. Comes off as a leather with some hints of petrol and mild animalics and a vetiver vibe (yet there is not vetiver in the notes). Perhaps its the tobacco I'm picking up. I'm wearing my sample here in summer and its not overbearing. I could see this one really shining in fall/winter. I would easily pick this up over Tuscan or even Ombre leather.

Fleeting sage, ylang-ylang and light incense, then the musk shows, rather unapologetically, before a bright, clean leather shows itself, melding in with the musk. It feels a bit too clean, probably due to the violet, but the balsamic notes subdue this "anomaly" of a floral. Has a faint petrol facet, and the tame tobacco, woody, but all faint facets start to show. This is probably why I can barely point out the leather, because it's smothered in other clean notes (context: I don't typically wear musky frags, so maybe I'm not as desensitized to it as an average person might be). And no, this doesn't remind me of Leatherize by DSD by any stretch of the imagination. Is leather too strong to stand out on its own to be accompanied with a bias that paints a picture? Boxer by HUNQ has already done this, but this frag? I can't say the same. Since I've already categorized this frag as a typical frag that spritzes clean notes over a barely noticable/abstract/nonexistent leather, it is about as significant as all the other frags that do the same. Above average longevity, but no dice, per the usual. I can't blame the perfumer for this, looking at the notes, but the naming nomenclature should not deceive if it's not going to deliver. For the end product, this is rather quite expensive for what you get. You would be better off buying musk wholesale. BTW: A fragrance that IMO, smells like taking a boxing glove up the schnoz is Boxer by HUNQ, minus the tobacco.

To my nose this Pana Dora offering is very masculine. Very nice and refined, but masculine. Performance is excellent. This is very rough leather - forward fragrance, with incense, oud and a hint of animalics. Great for cold weather nights and special events. Unfortunately, my husband does not like very strong leather-forward fragrances. Otherwise I would have gotten him a bottle.

Aromatic and bright leather with a spicy and amber background. This is actually pretty nice. I do enjoy this one and Osmanthus gives it a peach like quality that I love to use in leather compositions. 7.5/10
