Swedish Wood

Imagine chopping of some wood in a snow-capped forest while eating a fresh green apple. Add some pungent, a tiny bit salty, rosemary to it and you'll get Swedish Wood. If that suits you, you will love the first 45-60 minutes of Swedish Wood, as the opening sometimes lasts even longer than that. After that i pick up a hint of rose complemented by some light woody accords. The rose is much more gentle compared to Frederic Malle's Promise. Moreover, the oud is barely detectable. Nothing smoky, nothing dark in here...remains fruity/woody til it dies. Not your typical Rose/Oud scent, instead a nice aromatic twist which starts of fresh and slowly developes into a dry but warming scent. To put this into a "sexy" category would be exagerrated, but it's certainly alluring and collects a compliment every time i wear it. All the magic of Swedish Wood lies in it's sillage. I personally think that this shines in snowy settings as it projects a very strong and inviting trail behind you. That being said, do not wear this if you aren't in a very cold environment. Finally, this isn't for young & urban styled people, but anyone from 30+ can wear this and i think it leans masculine. Not safe for blind buy but i recommend everyone to sample it. In three words: "Apple-fresh, Lumberjack, Winterwonderland"

Super high quality juice in gorgeus bottle. Some people talk about how similiar it is with Promise from Malle, but for me it's different though going to the same direction. Woody, oudy, aromatic, spicy, and smoky leathery. The beauty is addressed in its complexity. Sweet green apple, slightly floral, strong rosemary aromatic, then followed by spicy clove, smoky accord, and creamy oriental woods. You can detect a prominent cypriol that give it a unique touch. Everything end up to a gorgeous regal dry down of oud, labdanum, vetiver, and patchouli combination. For me it is almost combination of A City On Fire, Promise, Laudano Nero, and Shaghaf Oud Aswad. Dark, sexy, woody, smoky, oudy, regal, and charismatic. The performance is really good, both longevity and sillage is astounding.

To me this comes off as quite leathery, enough that I think this has the same leather accord that’s used in Tuscan Leather. Maybe it’s from the saffron/Oud combo, not sure. It also kinda reminds me of Tom Ford’s “London,” because TF loves using that leather accord in many of his fragrances. This is very good but for me it’s not really full bottle worthy, I just have too many similar fumes in my collection to justify purchasing Swedish Wood for its price. I strongly suggest testing it out because it really is good and hopefully it works for you and it’s not redundant in your collection. Scent 5/5 Originality 2/5 Performance 5/5 Leans masculine. Very similar-almost the same- as FM Promise. But for me this is the winner as Promise has more rose which makes it a bit feminine for me. Swedish Wood is very well balanced with its notes.

Very fresh opening with that rosemary standing out. I love the apple in the opening and this perfume is at it’s best when you get to those minutes where you smell the Apple combined with the Oud. Unfortunately the Apple and the freshness goes away and it turns into a heavier type of fragrance with a lot of focus on those darker and more spicy notes. This is definitely not something to go for if you’re not a oud fan, according to me. I like this but it’s such a shame that the combination of apple/oud doesn’t stay longer. In my ideal world, I would have wanted this more like Oud Maracuja where you get that extreme passion fruit in the beginning and then it’s just dives into the oud and become one with it. Someone please make me an Oud Maracuja with this apple/oud combination instead!

Smells so luxurious and nice, it made me go wowww this is some unique stuff. Woody but not too much, like ambery-woody with like this halo of angels and a cute sweet tint kick, it is literally insane! if I could swim in a pool full of this perfume I'd do so. But what a shame it lasts like I last in bed, and projection is good in the beginning and then fades to the void. Blind buy? No because of the price, if it was cheaper - then absolutely. Smell: 10/10 Longevity: realistically 4/10 or 3/10 Projection: 6/10

i've owned a bottle of promise by frederic malle, this is better in my opinion..but still both are extremely similiar to each and i can't say i'm a fan of that prominent apple shisha accord in the both of them. not my style but it is nicely blended and smells of high quality..toned down with the harsh earthy vibe promise gives off.

This one is my least favorite from the brand, the Clove is just way too prominent.

I can see someone comparing this to Promice by Fredrick Malle. However, it has its advantages and disadvantages. For one, as someone else said, and I totally agree, the musks and woods Pana Dora uses are strong and top shelf. Grand Musk is super sexy. But we're here to talk about Swedish Wood for now. The Oud here is silky, dense and powerful. It's not offensive to me at all. It's apparent from the beginning. The apple is there from the second you spray it on and it's fantastic. A grassy Vetiver plays perfectly with the apple. I don't get a ton of Clove by itself. It's blended in so perfectly that's you smell the effects of it but its not hard on the nose like it can be in other fragrances. Now the disadvantages, depending if you're looking for it or not, is the sharpness from the Rosemary. Here, you get a small green facet along with Patchouli that comes off green and hippie. If you're looking for an alternative to Promice, this is the biggest difference. In my opinion, they smell very different with Pana Dora being more pleasant to wear and higher end. The blend is seamless. It lasts for hours and hours on skin and days on clothes. Everything I've smelled from them so far has been an incredible fragrance.

It opens deliciously with a fresh sourness of green apple tempered by the spiciness of cold spices and oriental herbs that surprisingly form an accord that refers to a pine forest in the bloom of spring in the Northern Hemisphere. This feeling is reinforced with the arrival of the freshness of a floral bouquet dotting this low green meadow around the grove. The rose is noticeable but it was not so eye-catching. These nuances, in fact, the perfume proposal masterfully executed by the brand. After this initial photorealistic show, the woody resins of 'oud supported by cipriol arrive, adding to the labdanum bringing depth and density, slightly darkening this forest. Vetiver with patchouli confirm the dominant woody character of the perfume. On my skin to my sense of smell the 'oud here has nothing animalistic or corral, the rose also does not stand out too much among the florals. This removes in my view the possibility of the fragrance becoming an 'oud & rose' combo. It is a Woody Floral Resinous perfume. Among the ones I've met, Swedish Wood is the Best of the House!

Spraying Swedish Wood, you immediately notice that this is very high quality and concentrated stuff. The first blast of apple and rosemary is incedibly detailed. These are backed by powerful florals, Im guessing rose and maybe tuberose, and a pinch of cloves. As the fragrance progresses, a touch of earthiness emerges, probably from the patchouli and the dark rich oud in the base that gets more and more pronounced. After about 30 minutes, things really start falling into place. The floral notes take a backseat and the spices and warm labdanum come into play to really highlight the woody aspects. Swedish Wood is niche perfumery at its finest and can rub shoulders with some of the best in the game. Its a fragrance that you can peel like an onion and it will slowly reveal itself layer by layer, taking you on a magical olfactive journey as you wear it.

This solid perfume features an incense quality and woody and aromatic notes. It performs exceptionally well regarding sillage and longevity, lasting days on clothing. It is about 95% similar to Oud Aquilaria Omanluxury (Swedish Wood is slightly stronger). This fragrance is tailored for individuals with a discerning taste for niche scents.

Almost identical to Promise by FM in terms of fragrance. There was just one small moment in the early dry down where it smelled a bit different - to me it smelled lacking in the fresh rosemary that gives Promise it's explosiveness. Performance wise this has about 1/2 the sillage and longevity of FM Promise.

Where is the "Swedish" wood in this? It should at least contain Pine needles/pine wood, fir balsam, cypress/thuja, juniper etc..Typical for northern Europe. I think Pineward is a better suiting house for this naming.

Smoother, muskier version of promise. It’s a little different, but the main accord of the promise is present and prominent. I like this one better than Oud aquilaria

A beautiful fragrance that takes the promise line from the side, the scent of green apple and earthy woods, incense with a hint of vetiver and patchouli.

I think it is almost the clone of Frederic Malle Promise. I could not smell anything like rose. Really good longevity and a nice sillage.
