Rose Grandeur

I received a free, sizable sample of Panah "Rose Grandeur" after buying 30ml of Tuberose Vanille. I must confess I wanted to cry when I opened up the package containing my purchase and the two free samples. I was (and remain) dumbstruck that I actually paid nearly $120 USD for 30ml of minimally fragrant perfume oil. Rose Grandeur is nice enough, I suppose. Opens as a strong, fragrant, rose soliflore. Goes on as a perfume oil and wears as a skin scent. To my nose and after 5 minutes of applying the fragrance, I detect zero scent. I feel I've got to say it. This house sells some outrageously priced, mediocre fragrance blends. I tried my sample of Gourmantic Orange but feel I should not review it. I can barely smell anything after generously applying the extrait (??) to my skin. Somewhere between disappointed and annoyed. I cannot imagine who can afford "perfume" like this.

This is a very peppery rose and patchouli scent, especially in the opening. The middle is very soapy, like a rose soap in the shape of a flower. It is very loud in the beginning but quickly peters out to little more than a skin scent. I would still recommend it though, if you like your rose a little rough.

Big red roses with ambery notes, orris and clean patchouli. This is formal and elegant smelling, projects very well and smells luxurious. I like this scent a lot. It reminds me a little bit of Givenchy Very Irresistible Rose Centifolia limited edition. I think I might get a full bottle in the near future. Very well done rose scent, complex but still rosy, not dominated by thorns and greens.
