Panama

This is an oustanding fragrance based on just a few notes. The blend of citrus, lavender, tobacco flower and a little vanille (not too much!) make this to a mature smelling masculine fragrance most suitable for fall and winter. Longevity and sillage are above average (5-8 hrs, depending on application). Comparisons to Le Male are a bit off imo. Too many differences as Le Male has mint added, more vanilla, is more powdery and more a frag for people till 35 years old while Panama is for 30 and up imo. It also smells more natural and less synthetic compared to Le Male and has a beautiful dominant tobacco flower note which is the star of this fragrance! I could get this dirt cheap but online I saw this is quite expensive. Lucky me! Rating: 9/10

This Italian made perfume is the superior version of le male. This is le male smelling very natural, not so loud en screaming, little less sweet and more refined. Overall better quality. After smelling this one i would kick le male out the door and take this one instead. This is le male royal.

This is a lovely Vanilla/Lavender blend, with gentle hints of tobacco peering in through the base. The dry down turns into a high class soapy base. Simple yet exquisite. Not that heavy on the citrus, but very subtle.

Errata Corrige: Panama 1924 was launched in 2000, so 5 years after Le Male de Jean Paul Gaultier...so the creation of Francis Kurkdjian was the first. However, for me Panama1924 has a more natural scent, when Le Male de JPG is more "strong and chemical", same sweetness (vanilla very strong); Panama1924 for me is really suitable in cold time, in summer could be too much sweet and warm..... Old rewiew: When i smelled a sample of Panama 1924 immediately though that it could be a flanker/copy of Le Male de Jean Paul Gaultier, by Francis Kurkdjian; but Panama was born in 1924, 71 years before Le Male.......who copyed or, better, who inspired who?

Leather, tobacco, powder, at its finest. I like to call it the "Penhaligon's Sartorial made Italian" (Panama was created waaaay before Sartorial, 1924 vs 2010) As Sartorial describes a taylor's shop working in London, this one does exactly the same but in Italy, to be more precise in the south of Italy. Imagine being on a sunny fresh breezy summer afternoon on a shopping seaside road in Italy, entering a classic Italian taylor showroom in the 30's. And after getting yours fancy freshly crafted clothes you walk outside the shop and go in a luxurious bar/caffè, you drink an espresso and eat a cannolo or baba' pastries. Anyway, this one is really a light creamy, smooth one. Touch of superbe vanille blended with some powdery sugar notes and expensive tobacco intertwined with beautiful subtle barber shop talc.... This is classic retro early 1930's italian elegance at its best. And more than with "Gaultier Le Male" that to me has nothing to do except maybe for just a hint, I think that this is more close and shares many more wearing feelings to the original 2012 "Eight and Bob".
