Provence

Wow, just wow. Cleanest scent ever made, I would even say it's a little bit spicy because of the cardamome. Tangerine adds a lot of body to it, and even though I don't like tangerine that much it's a really big nice highlight. I'm dying to buy it so I can feel like I'm walking by the most beautiful countryside, as that's what it makes me think of!

This is such a pretty, naturalistic perfume! It's so reminiscent of a certain minimalistic French soaps or body products. The opening notes of lemon and mandarin actually just left me thinking this contained bergamot! You get more of the mandarin ad it dries and the tart lemon fades, but initially it tricks the nose into thinking it smells bergamot. The petitgrain smells like neroli, which is also a trick that this perfume plays on the senses (at least mine), and my mom even agrees. That green, bracing, slightly bitter tone mixing with citrus very much reads as neroli. This is fresh, and captivating in a delicate way that leaves one longing for the return of summer. It's bright, and feels like it begs to be applied in the morning along with the sundress, and a healthy dose of optimism.

I purchased this because I love Panier des Sens Orange Neroli which was sold as a home and body mist and has sadly been discontinued. I hoped this would be similar, and it is in the beginning. It starts as a very zesty citrus that is almost sour, but in a good way. The similarity to Orange Neroli ends here though, because the spices present very strongly in the heart and base notes. I don't care for spicy fragrances in general, and for this reason I've given it a like instead of a love. It reminds me a bit of hot spicy orange tea with no sugar or honey added. There is no sweetness in Provence, and I mean this in a good way. I think it's best worn in cold weather, the spice warms it up almost to the boiling point, and it is definitely unisex. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

The 2nd frag from Panier des Sens that took me by surprise, the other one being Red Thyme. I've discovered that brand's brick and mortar as of late. As a whole, their approach to cosmetics and well-being is unpretentious, honest and family-friendly, a bit like Compagnie de Provence. There's no line I disliked. Enjoyable citrus with assertive, aromatic kick from artemisia. I adore aromatics with passion and even more when unannounced ^_^ To my nose, the citrus is on the sweet end but by no means sugary. That represents a nice, unisex and affordable EDP that could be shared among family members. A French household staple.
