Absinthe Gaïac

What a interesting perfume, warm from the amber yet cold, juicy & smooth, sweet and comforting! I get the rose, the nutmeg, a sweet fruit cocktail and a little vetiver and clean musk. The patchouli is just stunning, exactly how I like it. I never thought I would love this based on the notes but it’s absolutely amazing and intriguing. Performance is a little softer than the others but it’s still pretty good and it projects. 7/10 and i would repurchase!

In my opinion this is a fantastic scent, perfect for Office and yet suitable for formal occassions. The tricky part is that it shouldnt be oversprayed but used really gently. If used properly it could be a delicious creamy fragrance with many notes coming up. If oversprayed it is dominated by leather and then you cannot smell other notes. In that situation it can be off putting.

Gorgeous fragrance....surprised this doesn't receive more love. Unique scent profile and a complete departure from my normal leaning towards fougere and chypre genres. Unisex but leaning more male....prominent absynth and woods, long lasting...I was burying my nose into my arm all day, so pleased I acquired it..strongly advise you to do the same :-)

Wait for the dry down !!!!! Panouge is dare to take the risk (for all line !) so be open mind ! this is out of space unique scent !!! Take your time ! Hard to like but you never know !

I agree with pepe7111, Absinthe Gaïac is mild and easy to wear. However I do smell the rose and leather together. It's a Lalique style of blending, luxurious impact, and certainly comes in high luxe presentation. It reminds me of Lalique Living though of course the notes vary a bit, something about the controlled powderiness, perhaps hiding spiders. Absinthe projects more yet has a simpler composition. The rose and leather are beautiful, rounded, and project for a few hours especially on fabric. A dried rose petal or rose water but not fresh roses. The mid is a tiny bit sweet, just like nutmeg is! The base is overwhelming on my skin so I must spray my clothes as well to have the full impact. I tend to think Absinthe in a perfume title is used evocatively rather than literally. Wormwood plants smell green and herbal and some varieties are OK smelling, even sweet (the flower spikes), while others not so much. When I spray this I get a brief glimpse of Chanel 19 greenness but it's gone in a flash. Wormwood roots give the flavor to real Absinthe and I don't know if they have an odor - they taste good (and not like licorice). This isn't green. It's a gauzy fragrance so perhaps that is the figurative connection to absinthe. I've enjoyed the artisanal Absinthe containing tiny amounts of thujone in the Jura, and it's not a gauzy feeling, so let's move on. Any brightness in this fragrance blows off within 30 minutes. After that, it's a "classy" amber. There is a projecting modern molecule in this but I don't have the technical nose to identify it. It's controlled but just and could give headaches to some. It doesn't evoke the outdoors, rather plush rooms. I bought it heavily discounted under $50 and it's fair value for that.

Objectively, it's a bit reserved, more or less elegant scent for 'casual' wear, leaning masculine. It feels classical, reminds me of a good quality cologne. It could also adorn a well-groomed gent to delight of all the ladies around. Office friendly and not overbearing. Not very unique or shocking, but definitely pleasant. Having said that, I observed the absynthe note (I guess) was unbearably annoying for me to experience on my skin. I can imagine enjoying this scent while smelling it on someone else though.

I get a lot of powder and fresh spices in the opening, which is far from what the official notes tree says. The elements seem qualitative, but the blend is just too far fetched. Ironically it was made by a man and a woman, and it feels that they didn't get along too well because this fragrance seems made from two halves that don't mix. Nice to wear in an office setting or at formal events if you're a woman. Be careful with how much you spray, though, as this thing projects like crazy.

This is a very unpleasant scent for me. I thought it'd smell like Absinthe, but it does not smell like Absinthe at all. On me it tends to smell woody and sour. The sour note might be the leather, I personally experience this in a few leather scents. I could not stand this fragrance on me.

Its a bit funny that I am the first to make comment about this hidden gem, since I am not swimming in cash, have to limit my budget when it comes to scents.(If the low would not be so strict I just stole from a shop what I need,but I am a moral and full of decency person::) So this product is a fine , subtle, inoffensive piece of the matieres libres collection. I have not experienced neither the smell nor the taste of absinthe , so I cant say anything about this ingridient. To be precise I was expecting more unusual leathery fragrance I think this is utterly people pleaser. The glass is more than heavy so be careful in the bathroom when slippery wet... I cant feel the presence of rose and violet at all, but I dont mind. Nutmeg , patchouli and woody aroma what make the whole composition so soothing and relaxing. Its a safe choise for office and its completely unisex.

Fantastic!Unique...that is what i want from a perfume.Don’t be like any other else in town.And this one doesn’t dissapoint...I own also rose agathe,which is also unique take on a rose.I really appreciate the Brand,as Pachouli figue is also fantastic.I think the perfumes are very well priced and also can be found under retail on discounters.You get a really big bang for buck,even paying a full price.I’d only wish if they had a smaller size bottles.I’d really highly recommend Absinthe Gaiac to any niche/even entry level fragrance lover,as it is very unique,very versatyle and crowd pleasing.Hihgly highly recommend.

Great woody fragrance especially if you love gaiac wood. I get the rose and leather, but not the absinthe with this one, more of a green aromatic undertone of artemisia. Great for fall and cooler weather. Performance wise it's very good.

This could partially satisfy all those who miss Gucci Envy Men.
