Smoked Bloom

I purchased a sample of this fragrance directly from the house and was genuinely impressed by the thoughtful presentation. The samples arrived carefully packaged, complete with a handwritten note from the creator and individual scent cards for each fragrance—a true testament to their attention to detail. The name Smoked Bloom might be a bit misleading, as there's no discernible tobacco or smoky note listed or detected. Instead, it wears beautifully with a fresh blend of green woody branches, apricot, and orange. It reminds me of picking an orange straight from the tree, with the green, earthy scent of the broken branch mingling with the fruit's bright aroma. A subtle creaminess balances the sharpness of the bergamot, creating a well-rounded composition. A truly beautiful fragrance. While it shares similarities with Lucky Days from the same house, this fragrance leans creamier and slightly woodier, whereas Lucky Days highlights more orange blossom and a crisp, sharp edge.

I'm obsessed with this fragrance. I was nervous because of the name that it would be too smoky, like cigarettes or barbecues. It's not that at all. It's smoky in a super interesting way, like a deep and gentle earthiness to the floral/fruity notes. It smells like the smoothest remnants of smoke in a glass chamber, a smoke that doesn't remind you of any memories associated with smoke but is still identifiable as smoke. Honestly I don't know how to describe it. And aside from the smoke, is just the most beautiful, to-die-for, osmanthus note. I am always looking for more osmanthus perfumes because I just love the note, and this one does not disappoint. The smokiness just enhances the natural smoky tendency of an indolic flower petal, along with sweetness, freshness, apricoty-ness, and pure spring happiness. As I wear it, I don't perceive the notes individually, just a perfect osmanthus with all its juxtaposed facets. I believe I will need a bottle.

This would be an easy top 5 perfume for me if it had just slightly more sillage after it settles. I still really enjoy the perfume, though, so it still gets love from me. Smoked Bloom reminds me of the woods in spring after a rain. Locals burning their brush piles in the distance while the orchards and native trees blossom. The perfect ratio of smoke to sweet to floral. I like my scents smoky so I can see some finding it a little off-putting — as someone who grew up in the country, I find it very comforting. It gives a complexity that feels earthy or mossy. However, the smoke hides in the dry down as the sweet fruit and floral come out so definitely give it a try if you’re on the fence. It personally evolves very nicely on my skin.

ermm yea..im thinking this is the one. im thinking abt it all the time. i have the whole sample set, ive been trying different ones on over a few weeks, i keep coming back to smoked bloom. when i'm not wearing her i'm thinking 'i wonder how smoked bloom is doing', 'dang i wish she were with me right now'. i'm surprised i like it as much as i do. i'm surprised at how many people don't like it? i don't know. it doesnt really smell too fruity to me honestly, im getting some kind of floral. i like the smokiness, i like that it's not too harsh, but i like that it's there when i smell myself. i'm always smelling myself with this on. i feel like this was what was missing from sex and jasmine. i give this a certified yummers

Smoked Bloom is so gorgeously balanced. It is fresh and grounded with an airy mineral quality. I love the slightest hint of apricot and the taste of savory bay. The blend is nuanced and beautiful, with high quality ingredients. It wasn’t one of the first I tried because I generally don’t like smoke, but the “smoke’ in this to me is actually more like volcanic ash- mineral and fertile- paused and waiting to sprout new life. It reminds me of alpine wildflowers on a spring hike. I purchased both the fragrance oil and the EDP and love them both.

On me this opens quite a bright resinous, conifer sap (I guess that’s the vetiver and bergamot) and dries into a lovely creamy slightly floral, slight fruity, slightly mineral (clay or sand, not iron) scent. I have been sampling a lot (like almost obsession level) and keep coming back to my Libertine samples with renewed enthusiasm because of the very apparent quality. Smoked Bloom is a favourite along side Soft Woods.

Unusual and a bit surprising. Very unisex. I think both sex can wear this equally at any age. Even among the so-called "unisex" pefumes this is not always the case but this perfume nails it. I like it quite a lot on me and I'm a young woman. It's the most realistic apricot smell I've smelled in a perfume and that became an addiction for a couple of weeks. I can smell the osmanthus and the vetiver. I like both. Overall the smell is not synthetic and it's long-lasting enough. For the price the quality is fantastic. This is the perfume I reach out when I don't know what to wear and want something natural and different. I've got the feeling that if a big brand name was on that perfume label that would sell a lot and people would post amazing reviews on Fragrantica. Overall it's very well made.

Purchased sample set recently, smoked bloom was the first I tried. Instantly reminded of the powdery blend of recently applied foundation and sweet sticky lip gloss. The scent faded a bit but retained a red fruit scent reminiscent of jujube or swedish berry. This isn't to say it was excessively sweet, it was just distinctly fruity but still quite mature. Very unique and understated. Even with a small application the scent lasted pretty long. Will have to test how unisex this comes off by wearing it out, but my initial impression is that it leans more feminine.

I have been wracking my brain trying to find a way to describe this perfume. It is very subtle and understated, but has a beautiful effect. It smells very natural on my skin. This is how I'd smell if I were the protagonist in a particularly descriptive novel! The brand website classifies it as "fruity", but it isn't too sweet. It's more dry and the vetiver comes through nicely.

It starts off with a very smokey Vetiver and then dries out in sweetness. I love the dry down, it is almost yummy. If you think of it as a dance, the first part is danced away by a man may be hiphop, and the 2nd by a beautiful sweet ballerina. Befitting name.

Im just getting into this house and I am impressed with the quality and uniqueness of their offerings. Smoked Bloom is one I'm on the fence with. I love osmathus (here listed as apricot but the Libertine website lists osmathus as a top note) and at first I got a beautiful osmathus blast. The smoke element is what I'm not a fan of. I love a good smoky note but here it's a bit ashy and I feel distracts from the floral part, which I must say is very nice. They don't go together well and they contrast enough for me to not care for this. The smoke dies off after a few hours and the dry down is a soft apricot that I do like. Maybe I'll give this a few more tries, but for now this is a no go. Again this house is very creative and worth a look, anyone into perfumes should check them out.

The name doesn't match. I was expecting beautiful feminine florals with a smoky background. This is grassy, smoky yerba mate, milk and slight florals, slight cedar drydown. It's like having a cup of mate cocido con leche, if you know what that is. No sweetness whatsoever. Unisex. Feels like the brother to the more feminine Dear Polly by Vilhelm Parfumerie. If you're a woman, you'll like Dear Polly more, but if you're a man you might prefer this one. This feels like something you would wear in chilly weather. You have a cozy sweater on and you're sitting on the porch of a log cabin, drinking tea with milk and staring out into the mountains at sunrise. That's the feeling I get from this one. 6 out of 10. For reference, I'm female.

this starts out as a beautiful smokey citrus and then dries down into this sweet musk.It really reminds me of being inside a historic building or museum weirdly. Not my favorite from this house, but I feel like it could grow on me.

Reminds me of a girl who just had a cigarette in the 90s getting into the car with her fresh spray of perfume and ashtray lingering smell from smoking and it sticking to her hands and clothing.

I recently purchased a Libertine Fragrance sampler pack and Smoked Bloom was among the offerings. Anything "smoke" usually catches my attention because I love smoky incense fragrances. However, I'm learning smoke can also mean burnt campfire, old fire pit, or "full house set on fire"-blecch. Sadly, this is another no-go for me. I think Libertine fragrances and I are just not a good match. I get nothing ethereal, fruity, sweet, laconic, musk-y or light with this one. From opening to end, this smells like an old, musty, burnt-out barn that's been left smoldering in a drizzling rain for days. Almost smells like dirty ash tray on my skin...just awful. Dreadful really. Frankly, this fragrance is pretty unbearable. Smoked Bloom is the only Libertine sample I positively had to scrub.

Like Fin de Siecle (which is probably the standout amongst the offerings for this brand), the idea is interesting, but the fragrance is a bit...off. Cloying. The way I can best describe Libertine Fragrances is akin to an audio spectrum; imagine the best fragrances having a rich tonal range, from the lowest bass to the highest treble. It keeps things sonically interesting. What Libertine has done is taken this whole spectrum and condensed it into a narrow band in the midrange. The result is very concentrated but suffers from overlapping accords. There's a lot in the heart, but not much diversity in the lows and highs, if that makes sense.

Gosh, I had such high hopes for this. I love this osmanthus oolong tea, but the other notes here really tip the scales for me. At first sniff, it reminds me a lot of Rockets/Smarties candies in a chalky, fruity kind of way, with some really strong, cheap aftershave. I'm guessing this is from the bay leaf or sandalwood notes coming through, but I really can't stand it. I'll be trying out different osmanthus scents in the future because I genuinely like that part of it. The rest of it is a resounding no.

I wanted to like this. Test spray on the card smelt unique - sweet, fruity and incense-y but on my skin it’s only smoke, like burnt flowers in the worst way.

I really struggle with apricot and peach notes on my skin as I'm allergic to them and I think that scent just evokes itchy sensations in my throat. I think this is my trouble with this fragrance too. It's very juicy apricot with a hint of white florals and earthy smokiness. I find it a bit too heavy for myself but I have a friend who bought a travel size of this and wore it with a lot of enjoyment! It's certainly an interesting profile and unusual of what I've smelled before. Everything in this fragrance feels very raw. I think it's within a similar family as Indigo Smoke by Arquiste just less smoky and more apricot forward. They are not the same but if you like one of them, most likely you'll enjoy the other. I'd certainly prefer to wear it during colder months for that smokiness to shine through

I love osmanthus, I love apricot, and I love smoke so I had really high hopes for this. It falls a little bit short of what I expected but it's probably the closest I'll get and still very,very nice. I wish I got more smoke but it's more of a "smoke settling" scent-a little bit ashy, stale, and almost rocky/mineral-like. However, I have had Vetiver go awfully sour on me (e.g. Byredo Bal D'Afrique) so I'm glad that wasn't the case here. It also does temper the sweetness of the apricot very well so that you get a deliciously true apricot that is the kind of sophisticated fruity I'm always on the hunt for (most peach fragrances fail me because they're just too candy-like). I find it has decent longevity and the drydown is quite beautiful with the woods merging with the still present fruit.
