Sakura

Satori Sakura (2004) - minty sakura - #satoriosawa creation smells like a cross between Nivea cream, Tart cherries, and fresh Mint - absolutely refreshing to wear. Mint combined with Cherry and Licorice at the start as it develops, I get powdery Iris, Rose, and Cherry blossoms. Yet, the perfumer has made it light, airy and transparent. In the dry down, I get smoky woody musk base, yet the flowers linger at the end.

OMG it's just as incredibly lovely on the skin! (The nice lady Satori sent me some "wet strips" to smudge with this time) I picked up some spicy facets along with the incense-florals that brings peace to mind as I picture sitting under the sakura tree and enjoying spring in Japan. Still similar to Citta di Kyoto, but instead of sweet iris you get a drier & slightly tart cherry blossom

*This is based off of scented strips Wow this is VERY serene and surprisingly incensey! Also very Japanese, similar to SMN's Citta di Kyoto. Western interpretations has nothing on this!! (Most of them being [generic] fresh fruity-florals with a touch of oriental--either amber or a tart plummy note)

Parfum Satori’s Sakura drifts like pale petals through cool spring air. Soft cherry blossom, green shiso, and a whisper of incense lingering on silk sleeves. Quiet and fleeting. Sillage is intimate, longevity is a little bit better. There is a distinct cherry scent but it is more tart than sweet. It's very green and grassy. The incense adds a soapy element to this perfume.

Sakura note is usually not my favorite, but this one is different. It doesn’t have the artificial feeling that other sakura fragrances often have, probably because the woody, smoky notes give it a mysterious and elegant character. There’s a distinct smell of Shiso in it, which makes it feel fresh and unique. Very nice, I want to wear this fragrance in the spring.
