Cherry Vanilla

There's a special place in my heart and wardrobe for perfumes like this with no pretension or aspirations to be somehow above the bourgeoisie. Lovely humble juice well loved by everybody except those who would never give her a chance based on her origins. Admittedly she makes a horrible first impression. A fake and caustic opening almost sent me running away but once settled it becomes cherries and cream. Oh la la! Cherry Vanilla smells to me like if Lana Del Rey in all her faux bucolic americana drag, travelled back in time to the forties detective office of Phillip Marlowe in order to try to poison someone with cyanide laced amaretto. In a red dress. Dangerous femme fatale juice to me. Love it.

I lost my sence of smell in 2009 and this has always been my absolute favorite perfume.... I always got complimented on my smell wh3n i wore it.. Now I am totally unable to smell anything anymore and can not smell other sents to choose a new one and now it's been pulled from the shelf at walmart.. I was a single mother of 4 worked 2 3 jobs to get things done and this perfume I was totally in love with and it was affordable... I wish I could get some more of it bc not only is it my favorite I can remember the smell.. and I know I like it.. I don't know anyone that I trust to pair me with a new one. I need this one love it..... love like ok dislike

I used this scent years ago and enjoyed it, and was glad to see it's back and actually smells the same! I will buy some because, when I tried it on in the store, it was just as long-lasting (for an inexpensive scent) as I remembered. I like the fact that the cherry opening note is sour. It DOES NOT smell like fake cherries or fruit bubble gum, thank God! The vanilla is quite a high quality for a "drugstore" scent, too. It's not that "cheap 'ho" vanilla that has given vanilla perfumes a bad name.

Can any1 tell me anythin that smells similar to the cherry vanilla parfume. This is my favorite I’ve wore this for goin on 25 yrs now. I used to buy it at wal mart for $8 then many yrs after I started wearing it they stopped selling it so I had to find it online which I paid $150 for 2 bottles of it. 🤦♀️. Now I’m out and I’m having a hard time I can’t find it anywhere so if there’s anythin that is similar plz plz help me

What a great scent... a bit like cherry coke with a pinch of vanilla... It's not strong, but it lasts a long time and I like that - it's subtle, but lasting. The last thing I want to do is give people around me a headache, but a subtle scent like this gives me that little something extra without infuriating my coworkers. The price was perfect too :)

lovagliom - I've seen Cherry Vanilla being sold on Walmart.com. The brand name used to be Shiara, but I think it's (supposed to be) the same scent. The bottle looks the same, in the online photo.If you could get ahold of Vintage Coty Ici, it's likely closer to the original, creamy-tobacco Cherry Vanilla than the current Walmart version.

Cherry Vanilla leaves such a nice cherry-almond scent that kept me smelling my wrists all day long when I wore it. My kids loved it on me too. As most of us know, it is now discontinued so I continue to look high and low for a substitute.

I don't care what anyone says abut this scent, I freaking adore it! Yes it is really cheap but if you're a pure perfume addict, then it doesn't matter where you get your scents from as long as they smell nice.

This fragrance is very pleasing and very affordable. I am able to buy it at Walmart for $8.00 and can even find coupons online to make it less expensive. My kids love it too and think mama smells good!

I purchased this scent many years ago to wear for an event. A marine corps ball, to be precise. I used it liberally because I wanted to offset all of the cigar odor that I knew I would be subjected to once the party got moving. I didn't really smell much of anything other than an almost sickly sweet cough syrup. I was sorry I used it. Later that evening I had guy after guy after guy telling me that I smelled "delicious", "sexy" and "hot". Maybe it was good. Maybe they were drunk & speaking from liquid courage. I never wore it again, but can see the appeal. Fruity, sweet, inexpensive, and apparently it is attractive to young men who’ve tapped a keg all night! ;) Bottom line: You never know unless you try! ;) NOV. 2012 We were just on a short holiday to CA/USA & I came across the body spray version of this at a discount store. What possessed me to throw two in my cart immediately is rather funny & perplexing, because as I mentioned in my post above, I thought the scent was rather revolting on me. I think it was because I had purposefully doused myself in it. But, my mom likes this scent and it smells very much like Cartier Delices on her, so I was initially grabbing a bottle for her, but then I sprayed a bit and was delighted. It was sweet, for sure, but pleasant, comforting and smelled like a happy holiday hug. If anything, I decided what the heck...it will be fun to wear around the holiday’s while I watch some Christmas movies with my kids, wear some cozy jammies while enjoying a cup of cocoa or hot toddy...Gosh darn it! Those cherries snagged me again! :)

I wore and enjoyed this drugstore cheapie back in the day. It was a great winter scent in particular. Unlike the trendy cherry bombs flooding the market right now, this one didn't smell in any way medicinal or boozy. It was a bright red cherry with a little vanilla creme, and just enough of a woody note at the back to make it a grownup, but still youthful, perfume. For those looking for a modern alternative, I recently tried I Want Choo Forever by Jimmy Choo and was pleasantly surprised that the mid and drydown reminded me of this oldie but goodie. It instantly conjured memories of walking in the crisp air and driving around looking at Christmas lights with my boyfriend. Of course anything Choo will have a higher price tag; I think I paid $7.50 for this back in the day. Still, I see vintage bottles of Cherry Vanilla going for $100+ shipping online, so compared to that, Choo Forever is reasonable and worth a try if you have fond memories tied to this scent. Ulta sells little travel sprays so you can test it without spending on a full bottle. Hope this helps. 🍒

i've been wanting to try this and i recently found a bottle at a thrift store! it was very exciting. i have no idea how old my bottle is either. i smell a sour cherry backed up by vanilla at first. there's something that smells a bit like nail polish remover, so maybe it's old and has gone off a bit? later on that dissipates and i get a boozy quality, like maraschino cherries in an old fashioned. it smells like dessert. i need to try again in cold weather, where i think it'll work better. trying in cooler weather: i still get a slight odd smell underneath when i smell up close, but not wafting from afar. it smells a lot more enjoyable and the odd underlying smell does wear off, thankfully. it probably has truly gone off, but i'm glad the odd part doesn't last and it's a nice sweet scent for autumn/winter.

One of my oldies but very cheap goodies. This is a linear scent of cherry and vanilla with a tiny bit of musk. Very sweet. I'm sure I have a reformulation (that has not turned bad), and this bottle doesn't have the same powder and almond that my old one did, but it will do. It still has good longevity and moderate sillage and can be worn year-round. I also layer it with some Lolita Lempicka's to create a stronger cherry note and anything with tobacco in it, so it smells more like the pouch I remember from when I was young and my grandpa and dad smoked pipes. Seems to work for the scent I'm trying to create.

This one of my inexpensive guilty pleasures. It does smell like a softened version of Ici. It is a comfort scent that's perfect for after an evening shower before bedtime or just wearing on casual days. If you work at home it can be your office scent! LOL! Cherry Vanilla has just enough of that sweet cherry pipe tobacco smell for those who are into that kind of thing. A spritz of Lagerfeld Classic layered with Cherry Vanilla will amp up the tobacco scent if that's what you're after. It's a great cool weather warming fragrance, a cuddly hug in a bottle.

I used to buy it years ago at Walmart and wear it as a casual scent. To me it's very simple and pleasant, nothing special....but you won't believe the amount of compliments I got on it. lol I wouldn'y buy it now, i think i grew out of it and into more mature and complex scents. But I have good memories associated with Cherry Vanilla.

I bought this on a whim being it was so cheap, and now I really like it. It's very soft and does smell like cherry cola as was mentioned before. I get compliments whenever I wear it. It smells better on my skin then it does right out of the bottle. I would recommend if you have a sweet chemistry.

This was my signature scent in the early 90s when I decided a pre-teen girl should have a smell people recognized her by. It smells like cherry candy and cream. It's a great scent for a very young girl who would like to have a perfume of her own, but not something a grown woman can pull off.

Cherries and almonds, my husband likes it. I think it smells like cherry cigars, something musky about it almonds maybe. I have to take it out for a test drive and see what others think about it, could be a good work fragrance. $8.00 isn't bad for this.

I had a bottle a while back. At first, it smelled sweet & tarty. Then it goes into a soft vanilla scent. It's a very casual scent; perfect to chill at home. I liked it.

Boozy maraschino cherries, almond, vanilla. Lovely. Gone after 10 minutes on my skin. I think I bought my bottle in 2006 for $5. See bottles are going for $100+ now. Crazy! Still, I bought it because I wanted a cherry perfume in the early 2000s and this and Luctor et Emergo were my only choices. So ahead of its time, for a drugstore perfume.

I was trying to think of what the new Bath and Body Works Perfect in Pink collection reminded me of and it finally clicked! Cherry Vanilla Parfume and B&BW Perfect in Pink light up the same senses and are very similar.

Strange this is so missed and popular. I now see why it's discontinued and was being sold at Walmart before that. Top notes - Musk - vanilla - old stale couch from 1971 No cherry in sight.

Yuck, this is a cheap, heavy scent. It doesn't smell like cherries or vanilla to me and the liquid is extremely dark even when sprayed onto the skin.

My favorite vanilla perfume, period. Vanilla and I never usually get along - it makes me sneeze and can sometimes read on me as 'dusty'. I've tried a number of vanilla heavy popular gourmands from more expensive (or hell, known at all!) houses and they never flattered me. Which is a shame, because vanilla is such a common note and I love it in say...actual food, haha. Inexplicably, Cherry Vanilla just works. It smells like thick, heady vanilla syrup with cherries floating in it. No one else I know personally enjoys this smell, it's a "just for me" type of perfume. It doesn't smell like some niche work of art, nor does it have the 'mass market' appeal of a traditional designer fragrance, but what it is works. Seems like it's pretty hard to find these days, which is a shame - seems like a lot of old school drug store perfumes aren't around anymore. Sad to think about, they were my and probably many of ours first introductions to fragrance. Tabu was another early favorite - dousing myself in that at 13 so I could smell like my cool aunt was a moment I'll never forget! I'm holding onto my Cherry Vanilla and giving it a good whiff every now and then, and maybe I can share it with my child someday and they'll have memories of these same drug store perfumes, and the cool older people who wore them. ;)

I’ve wanted this one for a long time, but it seems to be harder to find! I remember it used to be dirt cheap at drug stores! I am not sure if I’ve smelled it, but I’m sure I have as it was very popular I have heard and people compare it to Ici which I adore! I’m thinking this one is why Ici smelled so familiar even though I didn’t smell Ici until 2012 or something! Anyways would love to get this one, but too bad they’re going for $30 now instead of $10, but I guess better than $300 Ici! Edit: Apparently that is another brand that is being sold, sadly this is discontinued.

I needed a new perfume & for me I'm always searching for the right vanilla powdery perfume. I never thought of cherry, but I figured this would be a tasty surprise. Well I sprayed it on my jacket, one spray, and all I got was liquorice! First a strong red liquorice then black. Needless to say I was not pleased. However, because of the reviews, I thought why not let my husband smell it on me. After showering, reapplying & then allowing the perfume to calm down it was subtle & nice. My husband loved it! I recommend applying it to your body only. It is a very thick perfume.

I had this when it first came out, and it was produced by a different company at the time. It was my signature for years and years. I got compliments every day. I loved it! But the formula switched hands, and in the process was changed. This perfume went from a musky, intoxicating aura to a suffocating cloud of obvious synthetics. I was so disappointed that I didn't bother getting my money back; it went straight in the trash

This starts off with cherries big time. They are sour and it does smell like those cherries you put on a sundae. Or would I say, it smells like you have put your head down the jar! Not very pleasant beginning but it dries down very nicely. It smells very soft when the cherries mixes with vanilla and the longivity is great for this fragrance. The sillage is average and it ́s a good daytime fragrance for all seasons I think.

This is one of my all time favorite scents, I use to purchase this for 1.99 a bottle! How I miss you my lovely sweet pungent elixir. This scent carries many many good memories of what once was. I can’t think of a time I wore this scent & was not complimented by numerous men. On me it smelled like cherry vanilla mixed with a hint of chocolate. Classic sweet scent.

I will probably end up buying this perfume. I love vanilla scents and I love cherry and almond too. I have noticed when I tested this though, that is does smell slightly of tobacco? I'm not sure why I get that in this, but I do. In a way it takes away from the other parts of this scent I like. I'll have to wear it though and leave an update.

gourmet cherry and warm vanilla; mainly for winter holidays, kind of smells christmassy. cheapo with excellent longetivity. I find nothing special about this one, I rarely wear it; I'm all vanillad-out.it closely resembles cheap vanilla-like body sprays that I used to use excessively as a teen, and had grown out of it.

I found this for so cheap that I couldn't reasonably turn it down. The scent is exactly as promised, cherries and vanilla. It reminds me more of the sweet red cherry on top of a sundae than the fresh fruit, but there's not a lot of "candy" to it. It's cute and uncomplicated, and I am liking it.

I just discovered I already have this in my collection, after it had been on my want list for ages! Got it as part of a vintage early 90s perfume sale on eBay and it is branded Shiara, the original formula I believe. Love it. Reminds me a little of Fire and Ice which I also love.

This perfume apparently didn't age well. I can't seem to find a bottle of this that hasn't gone bad. I even purchased one that was still in the box never sprayed and it was turned as well. It makes me sad because I use to wear Cherry Vanilla and loved it.

Found this at Walmart. There was a bottle out for test so I gave it a go... AND I have to say it's quite acceptable for being "cheap". Sweet like a marchino cherry and creamy like vanilla ice cream. I think for the price it's a good buy!

This is ans was my favorite perfume had many complaments on this I just have found out it is no longer available I think it needs to come back I see the out ragagetist prices on ebay and amonzon why did you did continue this product

This smells so good..For a less expensive scent,this last longer than some expensive ones.I find this scent addicting..If you like scents like Amber Romance, Coty Ici, Revlon Fire and Ice which I do,you might like this.

Just bought this and think it stinks. I read reviews before and every single one said amazing things. But why does this smell cloudy and dirty to me? I'll give it a couple more chances.

For those of you missing this scent, sample Mula Mula. The price is a lot more, but it smells just like I remember Cherry Vanilla smelling.

Tried it Walmart last weekend and it is nice I think I will pick it up this weekend (sneak it in the grocery cart LOL)
