Belle Epoque (2017)

Autumn in a bottle and totally unisex. If you likecamp fires in the woods as I do, you will love this! It smells of incense, pine resin and woodsmoke, with a nice sweetish base that prevents it being the kind of scent only Bear Grylls could wear. I love this little gem and will absolutely get a full bottle of this.

No, no pompously perfumed dancers dance Jacques Offenbach's Can-Can, here Toulouse-Lautrec is drinking himself to death with absinthe in coal-dust smoky Paris. This Belle Epoque smells of alcoholism and tuberculosis, but damn good!

#1728 in my “Tour de Fragrance” This is green incense and myrrh fragrance that borders on churchy. Comes across a little harsh with the licorice note. Longevity and silage are as good as you’ll find in any scent. Most resembles Majouri “Signature” but the Majouri’s use of ginger and not licorice works better for me. In general a lot of this character is found in more iris or orris-forward scents like Moresque "Oro”, Houbigant “Bois Mystique”, Sergio Tacchini’s “The Essence”, even Stephane Humbert Lucas’ “Mortal Skin.” For me, in this $240 price range, I’d go with the “Mortal Skin.” The Moresque “Oro” would save you a hundred and Majouri “Signature” would be the low cost choice at $40. I was impressed with the fragrance but not pleased by the performance of “Bois Mystique”, so I wouldn’t drop $240 on that one. “Belle Epoque” gives all day plus longevity on the skin. Silage stays at arm’s length. This would be offensive in close quarters if you overdid it. Applied reasonably this will work in the office as well as date wear, but not for casual use. For me this would be winter formal wear, a masculine scent, not unisex. This is pricey and I have several like it already, so not a buy for me any time soon, but if I’d blind bought it I’d feel fine about it. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

I'm sorry but whose the one who voted this to be similar to samharam!! No way at all :D Smoooth artemisia with myrrh, & the smokes of the burned fig leaves.... It's very smooth, very alluring, although figs sometimes (if not all the times) ruins the blends if not deployed well, but in here it's quite beautiful! i even can sense citrus within rather than sweet licorice, & sweet figs! indeed beautiful.

I wanted to like this so bad, Incense + Licorice + Fig Tree + Myrrh mix together so beautifully here, they don't completely blend together, rather equally take space. Until that Artemisia, it's the 3rd Artemisia fragrance I tried and I think I simply don't like it. Just like in But Not Today by Filippo Sorcinelli, Artemisia smells like a funeral or a rotting corpse. It's super heavy and medicinal, and it reminds me of the smell of a palliative care ward. Parfumerie Particulière, the molecules you use are of great quality. Please consider remaking this fragrance without the dreadful Artemisia, or at least replace it with something more palatable.
