Pluie Noire

i am obsessed with this. i smelled it first at Nose paris, brought a sample home and i cannot get enough of it. it smells so weird and so good - salty, dark iris, mysterious, comforting, sexy. the skin of a loved one pressed against yours after sex.

Aromatic, dark green spices, combined with strong aquatic notes create an uncomfortable fragrance that sometimes smells fantastic, sometimes nasty. Difficult scent, but artfully composed.

I have tried before Madeleine from the same brand and It has quick become one of my favourite fragrances. A sweet and powdery almond which lasts the whole day on my skin (and It was the first time an almond scent do that). Therefore, as I am an iris lover, I decided to try pluie noire and... I must confess that I am a bit dissapointed :( The scent of pluie noire is nice, a non-sweet and dry iris over fresh, Woody and spicy notes. But I didnt get the quality, and overall the performance , that I found un Madeleine, since pluie noire lasts only 4-5 hours on my skin and with a very los projection from the beggining. In adition I get no originality here since there are many perfume which smell very clóse. I know that the quality of the fragrance is good, but maybe It is just not for me... I have a decant of It and I Will use It since I find It pleasant and easy to wear, but for my daytime Life and not for going to any special ocasión... A beautiful iris. No sweetness, no make-up powder. It is a dark, woody, a bit bitter interpretation that is unisex.

Some kind of aquatic, with a dusty iris and a mineralic undertone. It bears some resemblance to L'homme de Cœur, but Pluie Noire is notably more fluid, ephemeral and fleeting. I agree with the comment below, in that it comes off as astringent. It also has a slightly feminine quality to it that I don't particularly enjoy.

Smells like aftershave. Astringent.

A weirdo little fragrance. Picture this- six months ago, an asteroid hit earth. Ash still fills the sky. Some plants are managing to survive, but they are stunted little versions of themselves. A frail grey iris pokes its head above the soil, trying to grow. It’s not clear whether it’s grey from lack of sun or being coated in ash. A sticky black rain drips and drabs on the Iris, adding its own coating of gooey black resin. Does it sound depressing? It is, but sometimes that’s just what you want. Lasts about 4-5 hours on skin.
