Tonka Fever

This is a wonderful tonka! The queen of tonkas! Smooth and sensual with a kick of black & pink pepper. Vanilla lingering, but not overpowering on a back drop of patchouly that gives this perfume a bit of a pencil shavings smell. The Rhum is very light. I was not eager to try this one, but it's actually very good. Perfect for cold winters. It's a unique smell, but it does remind me of Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle. Similar structure, different notes. It's in the spicey oriental section, very seductive, very silk underwear & sheets vibe... Definitely worth a sniff. I can not say, if it is bottle worth for me as I want to retest and try the other fragrances from this house. Tested from a sample sent directly from Parfumerie Particulière. They offer a great discovery set of all their fragrances and you get a cupon for a substantial discount, if you decide to buy a full bottle. Great service as well.

I love every single thing in this fragrance. The opening is very original and unespected for a tonka rhum perfume, beautiful, i'm impressed evrytime i smell it, I simply adore it. The dry down is magnificent, a very round tonka vanilla and rhum combo, sweet and pleasant, it just feels so right. It enchants you with its great projection and this suff sticks to the nose. To me, the dry down is a pirate prostitute, and I mean this in the best way possible. Very long lasting for me, about 3-5 days, it is pretty expensive, but i believe it is worth every penny.

Quite an interesting blend! The bitterness of tonka and sweetness of vanilla are balanced and made even more fresh and spicy by the addition of pink and black pepper! Not your ordinary tonka scent! Utterly gorgeous!

For a perfume with the word tonka in the title this sure has a ton of black pepper in it 🤷🏼. A couple hours later tonka and pepper, leaning towards pepper.

I had been longing to try this out for quite a long time, and was really happy to finally get a sample of it. Anticipatory, I knew I was going to like it, because I really adore tonka, vanilla, rum- and amber notes... and I did. And somewhere in that confirmation, I felt... a bit bored. I think I’ve come to a point in my olfactory exploration where I need to be challenged, or at least surprised, to fully enjoy something. Tonka fever doesn’t really surprise at all. It does exactly what it says. It’s mainly a quite peppery-spicy, tonka-vanilla gourmand. Please notice the peppery-spiciness, as this is not to be overlooked, and might turn some people off. I really wish there was more rum. Something more happening. It doesn’t disappoint delivering what you expect, not at all. Quality is strong, longevity is excellent, and it’s most likely wonderful in winter time. There is just something I miss here. Some other aspect to make it more unique and even more attractive. I’ve experienced something like this before. Strong like, but unfortunately no love.

Very mild tonka... I never thought that i would like this one since i've known tonka to be quite sweet to the cloying level.... but this one is very sensual! vanilla, calm, white tonka, tobacco blossoms, & touch of milk. Quite soft, and sensual when it cools down. Beautiful.
