Bourbon V.

Comparing this perfume to the musky Fleur De Peau is ridiculous, they have nothing in common. FdP is all about musky iris, Bourbon Vanilla is about resinous savory vanilla. Bourbon V. is a balsamic, peppery temple-like vanilla. It is dense, slightly smoky, surrounded by sweet hot resins. There is also a delicate touch of tuberose and white florals here. A noble and classy masterpiece among vanilla perfumes.

Finally the vanilla I’ve been looking for. Reminds me of Ormonde Jayne Tolu, which I love, but sweeter with a prominent pink pepper note. Really lovely!

Unisex, elegant, peppered amber. This opens with a prominent pink pepper note, which seems to share some of the same DNA as their verbena-pimento frag. Bergamot and tangerine remain well blended in the background. After a short while a beautiful vanilla-amber accord rises to join the pepper. Everything is very well blended, I really can't pick out separate floral notes or obvious vanilla. This accord reminds me of a more gentle version of the base in Angelique Noire, which I own and love but rarely reach for because the sillage is just too overwhelming for me. The House's website mentions "powdery" musk, and I normally avoid powdery scents, but this is so subtle and well-blended I really don't get anything noticeably powdery. This house does not publish perfume pyramids, which I find befits the well-blended character of their scents. That said, notes mentioned in the website's description are: Pink Pepper, Bergamot, Tangerine Jasmine, Peach, Honeysuckle Vanilla, Powdery Musk, Sandalwood I got the 01630 sample set from Aedes, which I've enjoyed. Parfums 01630 scents are subtle, elegant and read as eau de cologne strength. Undersprayers will find much to appreciate, and their scents come in large (100ml) bottles and could be sprayed liberally for more sillage. Although the house is introducing extraits at some point this year, the current batch of scents are probably not a good choice for those who prioritize concentration and strength. Parfums 01630 would be a great house to explore for someone who craves the beauty and sophistication of a top French perfumer, but finds that strong scents (Guerlain!) are just too overwhelming.

Musky, spiced vanilla with a touch of dirtiness, quite 'thin' and simple. For 250 Euros... no thanks, I'll stick with my vanillic designers.
