Makiling

One of Parfums Astraux’s best freshies to date. A lot of people I know adore how it smells because of reminiscent it is to smelling the cold provincial air, before the sunrise, and nearby some fruit bearing trees to represent the hint of fruitiness in the background. I decanted and sold my partial bottle of it because I preferred the collaboration with The Boar Grooming Co. entitled “Wet Gardens”, which is more focused on the floral green aldehydic soapy aspect scentwise. Hoping that the brand could chance my mind towards disliking fruity scents because it reminds me too much of candy, wherein I would rather eat candy than smelling it. Although Makiling’s fruitiness is not as apparent like the floral green which is more present in the scent Edit as of 2/10/25: I retried my decant from the 1st of the discovery scent, and I guess I’m going to reacquire it because it took me a while to better appreciate the green facets of this fragrance 😆

Green florals all around with a generous dose of laundry detergent and a slight sprinkle of tea. I’m happy and proud to own a bottle of Makiling, a true Pinoy original blend that doesn’t come off as too niche. My wish is for more Filipinos, fragheads and non-fragheads alike, to buy more of Parfums Astraux’s creations instead of purchasing yet again another weak and flimsy dupe of mainstream fragrances. I’d wear this to brunches, even to the office, and especially during outdoor activities.

The opening is so green and quite bitter, I can smell the freshness of the bamboo note and white tea, after like 10 minutes it opens into a wonderful strong rose scent, and dries down into a very very beautiful tropical frangipani scent, this perfume is potent, and I only wear this for a very special occasion

It opens with a hint of bitterness and green, then dries down to a soft, powdery note. It reminds me of sun-dried linens on a cold day. Its scent is subtle and ideal for warm weather. I just wish it had more of that woody scent though.

makiling opens as a pared down white floral with a laundry-esque dry down i lived near the foot of mt makiling for almost ten years of my life. whenever im feeling under the weather, i would go up and hike her foot. there, i’d smell crisp, green leaves, wet soil, wood, and hints of the local flora. makiling, however did not give me that. i was expecting a more woody aromatic citrus feel and got a frangipani-centered scent. i wish i can detect mossy and bitter notes like the other reviews, but my decant doesn't have it all that said, it’s a nice scent – no doubt about it. a safe blind buy (you cant really go wrong with laundry scents), i might add
