1902 Lavande

This is nearly identical to Lavanda Mediterranea, from Agua de Colonia 1916 (Myurga). I would say it's like 85% identical, especially in the dry down. The difference is that this one is spicier, deeper and has greater projection and longevity - especially for a cologne! This is a hidden gem for the price. I got a 8.3 oz bottle for around 12 USD. Nothing synthetic here; this is a great room or bedtime scent for lavender lovers. Love it.

This truly smells like lavender. I don't really smell any of the other notes listed. It's absolutely dreamy!! I didn't realize when I ordered it, it doesn't come with an atomizer so I've got to get a bottle to put some in so I can spray myself and really test it out. So far, the bit I've splashed on my wrist is kinda weak, but man does it smell heavenly!!

OMG. A simple scent of a lavender field! The scent is so natural, smells better than any other floral-based perfume I've ever smelled in my life. I don't know how to explain it, you just feel like it's real lavender and not something synthetic. Just perfect (by the way - the price - is great!!!)

This really does smell organismal—not a single chemical note. I got all the lovely notes of tonka, anise and rose presented in the most delicate manner. A feminine biased unisex cologne that does what it is supposed to do. Enjoy!

i bought this on a whim during a trip to Paris as i had forgotten my usual perfume ; i was tired and jet lagged and it was raining and smelling this one made me feel right again. today the scent reminds me of that time visiting museums and meeting friends all over the city. simple, unfussy, comforting, clean but in a warm, sweet, artsy, un-sterile sort of way ; a nice antidote to urban blues. lavender quickly smells grandmotherly but not this one. great cheap buy.

To me this one is a 10 out of 10 lavender cologne. Mind you, this not an inoffensive citrusy lavender perfume, or a fresh laundry detergent smell, this is a dark lavender, thick and heavy. The lavender in this is accompanied by lots of musk, some spices and an oriental touch of labdanum. On my skin the first half of hour after spraying is the strongest, I get all the elements together in perfect harmony, lavender, rose, musk, tonka bean and labdanum. After the first half of hour the perfume settles and becomes a nice combination of lavender and some sweetness coming from tonka bean but without losing it’s dark character, longevity on my skin is about 4 hours, lasts longer on clothes and hair. One of my best blind buys ever, perfect for all seasons, except for summer heat. I’m completely fascinated by this creation which is sort of dark and gloomy, if Edgar Allan Poe’s poems settings would have a smell this would be it.

I do love a nice natural smelling lavender, but generally don’t like the addition of tonka or vanilla. It reminds me too much of Bath & Body Work Lavender Vanilla line, which a lot of laundry & household cleaning products have based some of their scents off of, and I do not like. I also don’t like Lush’s Twilight because I find the tonka & malt to be way too sweet. However, something about this one works for me. It’s a natural smelling lavender with a little bit of tonka to soften it so you get some sweetness, without it being over the top. The geranium and anise are in the background, and very faint. Not sure that I’d be able to pick out those notes if I didn’t know they were there, but I think they keep the scent grounded, and from being too sweet. Lovely, comforting scent to use before bed, or to spray your pillow.

It's a comforting, classical leaning scent with lavender merging into tonka and labdanum that sweetens it and warms it up, similar to the well established lavender-vanilla combinations. Doesn't project or last much, but you get a huge bottle for a little price, and the scent is really worth it. It's versatile, not limited to seasons, just make sure to reapply frequently, which is easy to do at home, but if you want to carry it around, you have to decant it. The bottles are heavy and good-looking.

LAVANDE - 1902 - Sweet bedtime lavender dreams, similar to 1902 Violette as a child's fragrance. Freshly laundered pj's, lavender soap, cherubs flying above tossing pink and purple flowers, bedtime stories, parental love and protection. As an Eau de Cologne, the longevity is not that good. This is insanely classy, comforting, and long lasting! Pretty strong stuff for eau de cologne. And I got 480ml of a very sturdy elegant glass bottle for the jaw-dropping price of 51 dollars! French perfumery is certainly in a league of its own!
