Vanira Moorea

Wow this fragrance is beautiful. It’s a soft orange and vanilla fragrance with a slight tart/greeness from the petit grain. At fist spray I definitely get the citrusy notes that are comparable to Guimauve du Noel however the citrus note here is a sweeter orange while GdN gives Love don’t be shy vibes because of the citrus being orange blossom. Strangely, the difference between GdN and VM is ever so slight but Vanira Moora definitely doesn’t compare to Love by Killian (except maybe in the dry down... I wouldn’t know because I find it too sweet and I only sprayed it on my skin once before giving away my 10ml decant). There’s a review on here that mentions that this reminds them of Dyptique Eau Duelle. I agree, It’s definitely the same sweet pillowy soft, almost marshmallow, vanilla note and I’d say that’s the note that compares most to both Eau Duelle and Guimauve du Noel. I am wearing this for the first time so I’m not sure of longevity as yet but I jumped and purchased Vanira Moora because I have a sample of both Eau Duelle and GdM and as soon as I saw they were being compared to this one I just knew it had that warm hug kind of vanilla note in it. I’d buy any fragrance based on that vanilla alone regardless of the top notes because as these dry down you mostly just get the vanilla with slight hints of the other notes. For me, it’s the only note that tends to linger in Eau Duelle and GdM. Those both don’t seem to project off of my dry skin (that basically eats every fragrance... no fault of the fragrance) and this seems to be having the same effect. I don’t mind as long as I can smell it. This 100ml bottle is also a fantastic price in comparison. I keep sniffing my arm because of just how good this is. I actually like wearing this to bed, the warm cozy guimauve/marshmallow/vanilla just feels so comforting and calming.

I absolutely adore Vanira Moorea! It's a beautifully balanced vanilla, petitgrain, orange pop of delight. Is it brisk? Is it comforting? Why not both?! I actually don't get much creamsicle from this at all; it doesn't read sweet at all on me (or not enough to write about, anyway). It's perfect in every way but one... Longevity. Why oh why does this totally disappear on me in less than three hours? I don't mean "turns into a skin scent," I mean like... there is nothing left. Not a whiff. I haven't tried it on clothing, but... maybe that might help? It would probably dull the petitgrain and orange, but at least I'd get some lasting vanilla...

Really gorgeous and overlooked scent . It smells like petit grain and bergamots , very much like a cologne in the beginning . A slight vanilla, sweetness and neroli follow. Then the citrus disappears, neroli becomes orange blossom, and vanilla becomes more evident, but not sweet, not gourmand. It’s a floral vanilla that is truly outstanding , it smells so natural and elegant. Decently priced like most Berdoues scents, it’s well worth the money . Moreover the silage and lasting power are decent too. Just lovely ! A wonderful variation for those who like cologne type of refreshing scents.

Delicious vanilla with orange blossom and orange. It’s like all orange parts are in there: the flesh, the peel, the leaves, the blossom. It could be the effect of petitgrain. It has a green hint like others notes, and feels quite natural, a lot like ‘Cologne of Love’. More cheery than seductive Addict, for example, also a green vanilla. It lasts well but the sillage does become minimal quite fast, after about 2 hrs it has intimate sillage. I can still smell in on myself after an entire workday, a very pleasant non-overly-sweet vanilla with some musk remains.

This is what I wished that opening of Sintra would have smelled like on me! Obviously Sintra is more complex and goes through in another direction. A burst of fresh petit grain, sweet vanilla, citrusy mandarin or orange. Simple, uncomplicated and classic high heat summer weather. Dare I say, the perfect scent for 40 Celsius degrees! Performance is not the best but for this kind of fragrance and for high temperatures it is ideal. You will not choke anybody! About 3 hours of wear with minimum protection!

Playful innocence. I get a beachy vibe from the opening but essentially this smells like fresh baby skin. Quality cologne that leaves a soft yet noticeable trail, as if you opened your arms to signal that you want to hug. More feminine than unisex. But does it really matter? This scent puts a smile on my face.

this has quickly become my favorite spring/summer scent. the vanilla is sweet but it isn't gourmand, and combined with the citruses and petitgrain the scent is bright and effervescent without becoming too screechy or soapy. it's lovely and makes me smile at first sniff. bottle is lovely too.

The description doesn’t even begin to do this justice... absolutely beautiful! I had never heard of it and was putting in an order and thought let’s try this ‘citrus’ and WOW! It’s awakened my senses to petitgrain... it’s an orange and vanilla that is so well blended... so smooth 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊

this might sound bizarre but it kind of smells like fresh corn chips or tortillas to me. But like, in a very flattering OMG I want to smell like this kind of way! The vanilla is nice and warm and slightly sweet, which pairs beautifully with the petit grain and citrus.

Those perfumes are special! Very unique.

I'm leery of vanilla - almost always too sweet and my skin tends to amp it up to often unbearable levels of cute - but in this, the pairing with citrus makes this one of my few honoured exceptions. (Most of the other vanillas I can tolerate are spiked with dark 'n bitter spices, or tobacco, so respect to this for a fresher approach.) As in a well balanced dessert dish, the orange here 'cuts' the richness/sweetness and enhances it. The vanilla itself is also earthy and organic-seeming, no harsh fake cake extract here. No grand complexity, what you smell in the first minutes is pretty much what you get, but sillage is robust and longevity seems better than many other Berdoues ( including the wackier, less sweet ones like Selva do Brasil or Scorza de Sicilia which I like more, sob.)

I like Vanira Moorea a lot better now that my decant has sat for some years. I think at first the scent was too petitgrain forward, much more fresh and zingy than I expected and I wasn't getting the vanilla I expected. After some time in the vial, the liquid didn't darken, but the vanilla is coming through much heavier now, and the powdery sweetness is more pronounced. I still smell the citrus, but the irritating zing that petitgrain can have is so much smoother and softer. It's not my favorite orange vanilla perfume, as it's still not decadent enough for me, but I appreciate the powdery fresh sweet scent of this one. One of the longer lasting ones from Berdoues.

I find this a really charming take on a summer cologne, as someone who usually does not love green-citrus scents. The notes are exactly right here, it's a slice of bitter green petitgrain, pure citrus orange and of course sweet vanilla. The citrus/green element is more powerful than the vanilla to start, and does have a soapy note to it, but it's not so powerful as to be off-putting for me. I really like this - hardly the best thing I've ever smelled but for the price point I think it's solid juice, and it's the best I've smelled from Berdoues by far. Perfectly unisex. It does fade fast, which is a shame, but isn't shocking for this scent family.

I couldn’t put my finger on what this reminded me of until I saw Love Don’t be Shy on the “smells like” list. Pretty much a dupe for the Kilian scent, but way more natural smelling, lighter in intensity and much shorter in longevity. I like this better and it is cheaper. It is sweet and powdery and reminds me of an orange creamsicle. I’m still trying to figure out what Petitgrain smells like unfortunately, and it seems like I’m the only one who doesn’t know or smell it in this scent.

Oh, I’ve never smelled anything quite like this! It’s a fresh, soft, vegetal vanilla. In the opening, I got a very green note, like the peels of cucumbers still warm from a sunny garden. It softens to a floral vanilla, with a dusky sweet orange. Like chewable baby aspirin, in a good way. Tempered with just a bit of bitterness. Nothing saccharine or overly sweet. This is uniquely lovely.

This might be my favorite vanilla orchid scent. The petitgrain is so prominent and green, it’s as if you’ve climbed a tree on a sunny, breezy day. The vanilla is fleshy and sweet. The surrounding citrus and petitgrain make my nose expect orange blossom, but that sweet vanilla rises up to give this an unexpected twist. It’s a bespoke bouquet at a beachside villa. Soft, comforting, fresh.

Well I’ll be damned, it does kind of smell like Love don’t be Shy by Killian. But this one is more green, I’m waiting for it to macerate a bit, hopefully the vanilla will come through more after. edit: I do not like this, nor do I like Love don't be Shy. Or Oriana by PDM. It's a medicinal type of sweetness that I find very cloying.

Lovely, soft vanilla fragrance with a bit of a boozy tone when I first apply it. Not sure that I am even picking up much of the pettigrain and very little citrus. The longevity isn't as good as I hoped it would be but a very nice cologne without being overly sweet like other vanilla fragrances.

orange blossom/petitgrain and vanilla. the vanilla gets a bit stronger and sweeter over time. it's right on the border of being too sweet for me, but i still enjoy it on a spring day.

Vanilla and petitgrain are most dominant on my skin. It’s a pleasant fragrance with a soft sweetness which makes it quite a comforting scent. I find it lasts quite well, 5-6 hours.
